When Suzy was sat in bar waiting for Claudia on night of 19th, did she discuss CL no show with JK and did they come to the conclusion that this was the reason for the no show???
Either that, or SC thought CL might have been with a bloke. It sounds like SC was annoyed that CL had ‘stood her up’, especially if it wasn’t the first time. Putting myself in SC’s shoes that night, I would have been even more annoyed when she didn’t acknowledge my ‘Where are you?’ text that evening. Rather than knocking on her door there and then, I would have made a mental note to ask for a valid explanation and expect an apology the next day.

Regarding the majors txt retrieval query, apparently it can be done even if deleted because it is still lurking somewhere on the sim as data, of course in this case there is no phone or sim to look at, would be probably out of luck with the network provider as they simply don't have the storage to keep tabs on the literally billions of txts sent daily, I expect in 2009 storage would have been at a minimum

Apparently if the police suspect someone of a crime they can ask the phone provider to specifically keep a record of their txts, maybe if some of the p o i's in question were under surveillance they may have had a record of there phone activity, but even if this is so, unless claudia was a main player in any criminal activity I wouldn't have thought they would have hers, but the sim retrieval may explain why the phone was never found

Suzy cooper said Claudia was in the nags drinking on Sunday. I find it odd Friday she could not name the people Claudia was sat with in the nags head, and the fact she never spoke to Claudia and could not remember if peter lawrence was there as his usual day to come over. Are there late shift at the uni in the canteen? All texts can be retrieved and police had taken suzy coopers mobile phone so wonder if they took others also x

Which is exactly what happened. Then the panic set in.

@MajorLang and sleuths, a few things are bothering me in relation to this and I wonder what you think:

1) assuming that the last text to JK was genuine, we don’t know what other texts the two had exchanged earlier that evening or the context of CL’s last text to JK. Had JK asked CL if she fancied a pint at the NH that evening and CL’s reply was a way of declining politely? It doesn’t sound like a one off text that one would send in isolation.

2) As I was working at York Uni at the time, I remember them being particular about working hours and they certainly wouldn’t have put someone down to work 12 days on the trot without a day off. Do we know if Claudia regularly worked Mon-Fri or Mon-Sat? Because maybe she meant 12 early starts on the trot, excluding Sunday when she never worked, for example.

3) Was CL’s text edited even slightly or did it read exactly as it appeared in the press? For example, if JK related it in an interview, the press would not have known how exactly it had been written, which would explain the missing ‘x’ at the end. But if that was exactly how the text read on JK’s phone, then it’s very unusual that, as well as the missing ‘x’, she wrote it in correct, standard English, rather than text language, which we know she used when texting friends. I’m no forensic linguist but that’s the kind of thing that experts flag up.
Point 3. Is very interesting.
Liz her friend from Malton described her texts and in media showed the "x"
Would Liz actually provide this actual detail in a spoken way or share the text with media so they could show verbatim.

Did Jen share her text with media and then they print verbatim?

I recall Suzy saying that due to CL inebriated state she acknowledged CL but didn't get involved with her on that evening-Sounded as though she was a bit disgusted with her friends behaviour?

I wondered if 3s a crowd became an issue and was CL badly influenced by JK with Suzy arriving late and then Suzy deciding the best course of action being to let them get on with it?

One of her friends did say that she’s done it before and also could have fallen asleep very possible if what DO said was true re all nighter .

Could be something in that final text she sent. Very often when a crime is commited the perp will send a text to friends/family to ward them off for 24 hours from raising any alarm.

That said and it seems another point in this case where the answer is obvious but seems to have become muddled, surely NYP just went to the Uni and asked them outright whether CL was put down to work for 12 days (or they'd agreed the schedule where she'd have to be available for next 12 days).

If not then either she wasn't in possession of her phone at that point to send the message or she was of frame of mind that she didn't want to see her drinking buddies for a while (even though she was supposed to be going on holiday with them shortly!)

Interesting aspect that I again assume the police have a bit more info on then they're letting on in public.

Im sure her colleague David Oxer would have been in a position to clarify, but there was no mention of it by him in the documentary.Wonder if its something else that he "forgot"

Well I'm confident Mike Cummings or one of her other colleagues was able to confirm the 12 day rota in the absence of comments by DO

Claudias demeanour on her cctv walk home appeared to be good.
Her parents don't raise any concerns to how she was when they spoke that night.
She had changed her normal routine though that week.
Perhaps whatever she had revealed over the weekend would blow over but others had different ideas?
She may have thought it an embarrassment but others didn't share as.

I believe that she met her end and it was a massive surprise to her or accident.

Sometimes I wonder: I hear long time ago that her mother is writing a book .
Now who else is toying with the idea of writing a book about Claudia ?
Could this be one reason so little new info comes out from her family and friends ?
Obvious publishing dates would be after the trial !
Apparently ( nothing to do with Claudia ) there are 1000’s in the middle of writing books !
Apparently this is because computers have made book writing that much easier .
I would be asking Krystyna Siebien to write my book on Claudia Lawrence bless her !
The title of my book would be :
Why did it have to be so bloody hard to make contact with a member of her family or a close friend without having to go through a spokesman ?

His LinkedIn file says he worked at that hotel from 99-06,but his list of jobs on his Facebook page which he states every job he has ever had going back to his apprenticeship back in 91 has a rather different look, it has removed the 7 years at the monkbar, it says from 99-06 he worked part time for nestle as a taster, all his other jobs tally, but the 7 years at the monkbar no longer exist, I wonder why

Wonder if he knows Suzy Cooper from Nestle

Read nestle date wrong, his Facebook has an unexplained 7 year work gap, 99-06,no mention of hotel, seems he stopped being a head chef at Monkton Hotel to become a part time worker at nestle, although it is only mentioned on LinkedIn
