Uncle Tony said a car seen leaving is unaccounted for and a car may have gone the wrong way down the one way street.

What time was it seen ?

<modsnip>

I just had a look again at Short Brackland on Streetview and found a camera at the back of the Cornhill shpping centre: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2...4!1sVbpfKaTnIHyfjFJJetrMrg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

The above is the view from Well Street because the lorry you see blocks the view to the camera....So this could be the hi res camera the Police mentioned versus the low res of the lady that contacted the family?

But but but... surely that static camera would also have covered a vehicle?

I'm so confused about how a person couldn't be missed but a car/van could. So confused.

The car wasn't missed.

The car wasn't missed.

Anyone got a copy of Tony's statement where he mentions this?

Bloody frustrating that 6 weeks later we hear there were at least two vehicles in the area. What next?!

It was in yesterdays interviews with Uncle Tony.

To quote uncle Tony "in the time window that we are concerned with"

A herd of performing wildebeast in tutus dancing along to the macarena (all the time avoiding cctv)?

Gaaaah!

I never said about anything happening when he went for a pee. They could have seen him on a walk home, they could have seen him anywhere. Like everyone here your guess is as good as mine.
I'm still more certain that any other options that he lost his phone and money l/ and or was pick pocketed - slept somewhere hidden away for a couple of hours before daylight after he woke. Dropping and losing things is common place when drunk.
I had an incident myself when younger that I drank a skinful, managed to get home 3 hours later from my last drink and my parents had to call an ambulance as I passed out on the bathroom floor and was Barely able to talk to them at that point. If they hadn't found me it was a strong certainty I would have choked on my own vomit, and that was hours after my last drink and being able to walk home. Corrie must have been very wobbly to be asked to leave, in the UK that only usually happens if you are in a right state.

Not necessarily in that club. They get people out fast.

There are camera literally on all sides of his possible exits. When Uncle Tony said it was impossible for Corrie to evade all the cameras, I thought "hang on, straight down Short Brackland....and not seen". Seems like he must have already got that cctv footage and reviewed it. I doubt he would be sitting around waiting for plod to get active.

I vividly recall uncle Tony saying he'd gone over all possible exits from town on foot and ascertained it would take some dodging expertise to not be picked up by one at the very least.

Around the same time I recall that (in frustration) I kinda posted something on FB along the lines of....enough of the FASQs (frequently asked stupid bloomin’ questions) as it was 4 weeks in and OF COURSE all the nearby CCTV had been thoroughly scrutinised by the investigating team - now I guess many of those naive bloomin questions were not as dumb as they appeared!:scared:

Comprehensive Update from TW now on FB

He addresses:-

Appeal + past week meeting with senior offices / the media / CCTV / Search
refuse sites / vehicles / ELINT – Technical / Door knock / leaflet drop / funding / donations
plus usual admin, thanks, #s & gratitudes

edit: nothing breakthrough or significant news (I added this for anyone hoping (as we all do) that we'll come on site to see a result from the search)

This part of Tony Wringe's 6/11 update stands out to me. I hope this is a sign that the investigation is entering the home stretch.

If you were in a vehicle in Bury St Edmunds in the Short brackland, Brentgrovel Street or Cannon Street general areas between the hours of 2300-0800hrs on the night of Friday 23rd September, into Saturday 24th September, or at the Tesco or Barton Mills Roundabouts between those times - please immediately contact the Incident room to provide details of the vehicle you were traveling in.

Following on from Hazel, an update is available.

Of interest is the appeal for vehicle(s) in the Short Brackland area (Brentgrovel Street and Cannon Street) and also the Barton Mills round-a-bout ....and the Tesco site. The time span is also wider. It goes from 11pm to 8am.

The search for the phone is mentioned and also the continued possibility of it being disposed of into "the refuse sorting/disposal system/sites". The term "landfill" seems to have been dropped. Also "sites" is now plural.

Further down the update, it notes that the Barton Mills refuse site (singular) was where the bin lorry was headed.

From the content of the update and how it is written, it would be fair to say that, whilst there is the possibility the phone was disposed of in the rubbish (and therefore "rubbish bin"), it would have entered the "rubbish disposal system" (my quotations). The update note that these sites (again, plural) have been released from the investigation and have not been searched...and can no longer can be.

Not wishing to get back into a rubbish debate, the one thing I pick up on is that, whilst the generic term "landfill" has now being dropped, the term "refuse sorting / disposal system sites" is used (which is probably more accurate).
But that indicates that there was indeed a "process available for sorting the rubbish at a site", but there is no indication whether or not any "refuse sorting" actually took place for this particular load.

#1 Refuse sorted, phone not found, part enters recycling, part is incinerated = phone not in the rubbish bin.
#2 Refuse sorted, phone overlooked, part enters, part is incinerated = phone in the rubbish bin
#3 Refuse not sorted, all is incinerated = unknown if phone in the rubbish bin or not.

Sadly, knowing if the phone was in the rubbish bin, bin lorry, sorting site, would have been of huge benefits to the investigation in determining various key points...

# Whether or not Corrie was in Barton Mills at 4.20am
# If the abduction/attack took place in the loading bay area ("nearest place to dispose of the phone" theory)
# Did Corrie go for a pee (if there was a car waiting there and a pre-arranged meeting organised)

Lastly, there is a note on the update saying there maybe another update on Monday evening.

since I am on opposite time zone from most here I’m off to sleep now and look forward to reading more thoughts on the update on (my) Monday morning....nightie night!

The Uncle Tony update also states "There was not a positive scent indication from the search dog at the Tesco roundabout." so I guess that was just rumour.

This to me is them ruling out vehicles, and the ones that don't come forward will be the ones of interest. Its the easiest way to eliminate cars.

@TheTruth...

I have been reviewing some post. And yours spring to mind. It's the camera on the shopping centre.

The basic question is, how didn't this camera see anything ?
And we're not privy to "what it can see".

However, I had a note sometime back, in which, it was said "the only way Corrie could have passed by and not been seen was, if he was obscured by the lorry" (meaning the bin lorry).

I don't know which camera they were referring to. But it maybe the Cornhill one.
And the comment was made before there was any release of the "house cctv" recently.

Therefore (as you asked) how can this camera (if it is indeed this camera) see the bin lorry, but not see Corrie, the car that is later mentioned, or Corrie being dragged to a car further down ?

I have held that the attack "must have" taken place in the loading bay area, but now I am also confused.
The camera seems to point to an entrance/exit barrier on Short Brackland. Should have "this camera" captured several of the events that evening ?

View One. From Well Street looking to Short Brackland
https://goo.gl/maps/nAf9n5mnkHv

View Two. In Short Brackland, the corresponding view
https://goo.gl/maps/jcFHzYvHC7v

It is probably one of the most important camera there is ! And it's "field of view" is pretty much unknown.

Credit to @TheTruth

Could this camera see....

An arriving car to the loading bay at the top
A departing car to the loading bay area at the top
Corrie walking down Short Brackland
Corrie being dragged down Short Brackland
A bin lorry arriving
A bin lorry departing

Or "all of the above" ?

Here is the Streetview from 2009, James which shows two interesting things. 1, an actual bin lorry going up to the bins and 2, the camera turned away to the Well street exit (we need to know if these cameras are manually operated or fixed at night)

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2...4!1saO-hdU6w-0L1cwei34c4wg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

But if this camera was pointing at the Short Brackland exit then it should/would capture all people and vehicles going in/out of there. The problem would still be that at best the vehicle colour/make is probably all they would get.

In the later google pic of that area.... is the camera pointing the other way ?
