Hi all you amazing WS members!
Am I correct in thinking that IS denied all knowledge of cesspit in garage?

Am I right in thinking that three people have confirmed the opposite:
1. the previous owner who showed them around
2. the maintenance guy
3. John Bailey when he went to see the new house

Also with regard to finances, I believe IS was getting a work pension. Also my understanding is that all but £50,000 from the sale of his house was put into the new house.

I believe that's correct. He also said he didn't know what the cover to the 2nd pit behind garage was, and said he just mows the grass around it.

That's it....

I would love to have seen ISs face when the maintenance man said he had a chat with the * man at the house* re the septic tank !!

I know others have said yes, but I don't think so. I think he denied knowledge of the one in the garden, said he had mowed around it but never knew what it was, and just omitted to tell the police about the one in the garage.

I think he denies, or it is his case and will deny, being present during the joke with John Bailey about it being a good place to hide a body.

Thanks Duchy and Alyce for confirming!

I keep imagining how he must be feeling now - absolutely cornered...Anybody else would probably have pleaded guilty by now, faced with the overwhelming evidence. However for him, the horrific ramifications are so multi layered and far reaching. Like a spider in the middle of a web, the whole web is close to totally being swept away, leaving every facet of his life blown away with it. The whole thing is surreal.

Yes - if it was only John saying that, I agree he could easily deny being in the garage at the time. However * three * people confirming he knew is a different matter!
I would have imagined at some point, after the police had been informed of the cesspit, they may have subtly asked IS (in perhaps a roundabout way), if there was anything in the garage of interest that they should check - just simply to have his denial of knowledge of anything on record.

What tale is he going to concoct?

So Joe and Nick gave him a phone which they used to give him instructions. What instructions could he have invented?

'You will go to Broadstairs and pretend you can't find her there. Come back and renew her Arsenal season tickets. Go on holiday...' And Joe and Nick benefit exactly how?

If he does take the stand what will he rely on for his defence? My guesses -
1. He and Helen were happy and had a good relationship.
2. The two "bad guys" who..uh..punched him.
3. His "ill health"
Anything else?

I don't recall it ever been released about him being asked if he knew about the cess pit in the garage. I'm just familiar with what you state above about the one behind the garage.

ETA: I posted without seeing Alyce and Duchy response above. I must have missed when he was asked that.

can anyone confirm as to whether HB did have the life insurance mentioned in the blog? ( I also assume we don't know if Ian's first wife did . )

also anyone else any ideas as to why she wanted to sell that Gateshead apartment?

Just on BIB
I always assumed.....
In another room he picks up tiny Boris, puts him in the pillowcase with the toy. Knots it.Puts the bundle inside bin liner one, ties it. Leaves it in that room, effective asphyxiation as deprived of oxygen. can't do more than wriggle. ( path noted his paws were well trimmed ) A few barks and whimpers. IS can just leave the room.

I've tried to avoid describing this previously, because I know it's upsetting but I see there's been a few posts on the topic.

This then goes into the wheelbarrow or whatever he uses, drags duvet etc

I think the scenario you've described could well be part of the sequence, though I'm not convinced just putting Boris in a tied pillowcase and a tied bin bag would be sufficient to suffocate him. I definitely think the pillowcase was used to restrain him and prevent him from defending himself (the dog toy found in the pillowcase supports this), but unfortunately I believe his suffocation will have had to have been been more violent, probably involving holding his muzzle tight to stop him breathing while inside the pillowcase and possibly bin bag too.

I hope that sick freak finds himself sharing a cell with a psychotic, twenty stone, bodybuilding dog lover.

I think the Gateshead property was superfluous to her needs (maybe headaches with tenants, management etc)

Don`t know anything about life insurance but I`ll bet his first wife had it.

Maybe Nick and Joe asked him to go to the Chinese takeaway and they got a chicken chow mein and sweet and sour pork balls out of it?! Sorry I shouldn't joke, but the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬's Nick & Joe fairy tale is utterly laughable.

I don't think we've heard about life insurance for a fact but given Helen's very careful planning in case she died unexpectedly as her husband did I would be very surprised if she didn't have any.

DollyDiamond - don`t forget the duty-free cigarettes they ordered IS to bring back from Spain!

This was the solicitor's evidence[/FONT]

^ I am definitely not going to argue with you on BIB Dolly. No sympathy at all.

Anyway, on suffocation via plastic bags , unfortunately many children still accidentally die of this every year and they do not need a murdering helping hand.
There are too many weblinks on slow and fast asphy by use of plastic bags.
Boris will have known IS for 4 years + and will have been used to being picked up in the past by IS.

Ultimately we will never know, just as Cary said COD for Helen was undetermined, he made some strong suggestions though. As for the vet path, he also couldn't say, but my feeling is that the method described is far easier for us to bear than dropped onto the septic blanket which is just horrifying as well as less guaranteed.
