A few people have asked about this. Given the speed that searchers were in the scene and the distance of the weir from the possible falling in place, and also the low level of the water, it seems unlikely to me too, and more likely that the weir would act as an obstacle to the body.I might be really off the mark here and i do stand to be corrected, but... If a grown adult fell in that particular area above the weir too. Would the undercurrant be strong enough to bundle her weighted body down past the weir and further down stream? It seems quite timid from what ive seen and my gut tells me that it was strong enough to drag her down stream that much.
But I am no expert in river body recovery.
