Just wanted to say a big thank you for all the upates!

Just catching up on the afternoon evidence - many thanks Tortoise and many thanks Legally for bringing up the previous evidence so we can see the contradictions.

I wonder does Williams really think she will be believed ?

that bit about protecting Walsh - so very kind of her !

I bet Walsh is itching to get on the stand and have her say

Nothing much more in here, just this bit

Williams said she visited the Helmshore area 'a handful of times' in December 2015 and January 2016 to see if Mr Johnston was home and because she had an interest in buying property in the area.
Ten days before the murder, Williams sent Walsh a text which read: 'Don't forget to crack on with your shopping ... suddenly it's time.'
The next day Walsh allegedly bought the knife used in the murder on her Tesco Clubcard.

Williams explained that the text referred to a planned holiday together to the French Alps and the need to buy appropriate luggage and clothing.
She denied driving to Ms Hartley's workplace in Knutsford on Jaunuary 6 and said she visited the town on her day off to visit 'a nice shoe shop'.

Hi everyone again, from the Helen Bailey case, hope you dont mind me barging in! On to another senseless murder of another innocent victim. Thanks to all of you, too, for the ongoing updates covering the trial here.
I wonder what the jury must be making of Williams! She's making a circus out of the trial and it would almost be funny except it's not. There can't be any doubt that she's a pathological liar, thinking her evidence will be believed! - she's got to have some sort of a personality disorder, I believe. Am hoping that Kit has a stronger personality than is coming across and that she 'gets' Williams when it's her turn.

There are a few bits fleshed out in this article.

The jury heard that calls from her phone were made to the business that sold the tracker but she said it was "common practice" for her to lend Walsh and others her phone if asked.

[...]

The defendant said Walsh delivered the flowers while she stood on the pavement 30 yards away.

She said she only realised who actually lived there earlier that day after a conversation with Walsh about the tracker device and how she "knew what Ian was up to" as his car was spending a lot of time at the address.

[...]

He warned Ms Hartley's family sat in court that he wanted Williams to look again at post-mortem photos showing the 50 injuries she suffered.

Ms Hartley's daughter Charlotte, ex-husband and other family briefly left the public gallery, along with Mr Johnston, in tears, accompanied by his relatives.

I read back through this whole thead last night because I had it in mind that it was Williams who encouraged Walsh to watch episodes of Hunter - rather than, as Williams said yesterday, Walsh was obsessed with the programme.
I thought Walsh mentioned in her diary that Williams had insisted she watch the programme, but I can't find a note of it now, so might be mistaken.

Did you find a post on your travels last night that mentioned Williams spending hours at Walsh's place, sitting on the bed with her watching Hunted?

Very interesting! Probably not to tell her she was getting his name wrong in her reports. :D

None of the other reports I saw mentioned the photo SW had sent of herself to IJ. I can't think that this would not have been reportable though.

Found something - this is from Walsh's statement to the police ......................BIB is mine

When interviewed by detectives, Walsh claimed she was ‘petrified’ of Williams but that she never believed her friend would carry out the murder. She told one witness when she found out Williams had been arrested that she had to help her because she had been there for her with her divorce, the court heard.

The horse riding instructor admitted hiding the stun gun and knife at work at Collinge Farm, Chester, along with the diary she kept detailing the murder plot, the jury was told. She said she hid various items under manure in one of the horses’ fields and her diary in the eaves of a roof, the prosecution said.

She also admitted to delivering flowers to Ms Hartley, a method used to identify the victim, and said she knew Williams had placed a tracker on Mr Johnston’s car. Walsh suggested that she thought she was playing a game of Hunted - a Channel 4 programme in which people attempt to avoid detection by trackers.

Asked by police if she knew what Williams was planning, she replied: “I got glimpses of it but it all seemed like Hunted, she had me watch Hunted and eve
rything.”

Sarah Williams says it was a "chronic error of judgement" to tell police she didn't recognise a picture of the victim's home.

We’re back at Preston Crown where Sarah Williams, one of the two women accused of plotting then killing businesswoman Ms Hartley at her home in Helmshore, Rossendale in January is continuing to give evidence.
Wearing a grey trouser suit with a white top underneath she was brought from the dock to the witness box and is stood facing the jury.
She is currently being cross examined by the barrister for her co-accused, Katrina Walsh.
Both of them deny the charge of murder.

Miss Williams asked why she lied to police

Mr Cross QC has just said to Miss Williams: “I suggest to you, you are the sort of person who waits to see what the evidence is before you come up with an explanation.
“So you carefully think about what it is you are going to say.

“You make your decision what it is you’re going to say based on careful thought and what you know that the police have against you.”
Miss Williams replies: “I understand what you are saying but I am not agreeing with it.”
Mr Cross asks why she lied to police in an interview about not recognising a photo of Mr Hartley’s house.
She says it was a ‘chronic error’ and replies: “I had been told there was an extensive team working on it and that they would eventually work out it wasn’t me and was nothing to do with me.”
