[h=3]Williams wore 'distinctive' sweater[/h]A picture is now being shown to the jury of the ‘distinctive’ sweater worn by Sarah Williams at the M&S and Deichmann’s stores which were later found at her home.

I'm not sure what to make of this pair, after what's been aired today.

The murder seems to be the work of a complete psychopath. And yet she loves horses, apparently. Is that not a contradiction? I'm wondering if Walsh is secretly in love with Williams.

Thank you for all the updates Tortoise, very much appreciated! They are a couple of bumbling idiots, aren't they? Except they thought they were being very clever!

Thanks. Yes, dumb and dumber, only they're equally dumb. All we need to hear now is that she was acting in self-defence and that will seal it.

Thanks so much for all these updates Tortoise, hugely appreciated.

Honestly, as you said, if it were not for the fact that this is a gruesome, horrific murder, it would be almost comical the way these two idiots have gone about it. Being tracked by their own tracker just about sums them up !

I cannot wait to hear their defence and the reasons why Williams thinks she did not commit murder.

I agree Williams sounds like a complete psychopath...but in some ways I find Walsh even more scary, her excitement and enjoyment in the planning and murder of a person she didnt even know. Those diary entries are chilling.

The details coming out in court are horrendous. Despite that, I am both bemused and amused by Walsh's diary entries. Erm, hello? No1 rule of plotting a murder...

The police were onto SW very quickly.

Sadie was murdered on Thurs night 14th Jan, her body was discovered the next evening Friday, and SW was arrested on the Saturday 16th.

I think IJ may have given her name to police because otherwise I don't see how they would have traced her so quickly. Even with number plate recognition, they'd bought the car with cash and presumably not registered it in their names because there would have been no point in going to that trouble.

Havent found one yet Jerrica, though I can see that Court started at 10.37am - perhaps the journos are slow getting set up

This is totally mad - how on earth can Williams claim this ?

The barrister also briefly touched on Williams and Walsh’s defences.
He says: “Sarah Williams says, in effect, it wasn’t me, I didn’t kill Sadie Hartley.
“Katrina Walsh has entirely different take on it.
“She puts forward what we suspect you will consider a preposterous story that what she thought was doing was all part of a game.
“She says it must have been Sarah Williams as it certainly wasn’t me.”

They are both crazy! I've also never seen a murder case with so much evidence pointing to exactly who it was,

Barrister John McDermott said Katrina Walsh put tape on the registration plate of car to make a 3 look like an 8 in an attempt to fool police.

He added Walsh almost always wears a cap because she little of no hair due to alopecia.

Mr McDermott is taking the court through the events of Wednesday January 13, the day before Sadie Hartley was murdered.
He says “subterfuge was certainly in their mind”.

[h=3]Williams 'pretended to vomit as alibi'[/h]Mr McDermott has begun taking the court through events on the day of the murder itself - January 14.
He says: “Sarah Williams went to work as usual that morning, but after that, nothing was usual.
“At around 3 o’clock in the afternoon she telephoned David Hardwick to say she wasn’t feeling well and she was going home.
“This was the first part of her alibi for the murder.”
He says she did this so she could say ‘ask David, I was ill at home.’
He says Mr Hardwick came round around 4pm and Miss Williams was pretending to vomit and act as if she was ill.
The jury are now being shown CCTV footage showing the activity near both Miss Williams’ and Miss Hartley’s homes.
Mr McDermott shows footage of what he says is Sarah Williams and Katrina Walsh in a car park together.
He says Sarah Williams got in the Clio and drove off “to complete her mission” with Katrina Walsh going back to Williams’ home to “wait for her next command.”

[h=3]Murder was 'clearly about to happen'[/h]The prosecution say horse riding enthusiast Sadie Hartley arrived back at her home on Sunny Bank Road from the stables shortly after 7pm.
At that point Sarah Williams was travelling north on her way to the address.
She had earlier sent a text message to David Hardwick saying “Just had another cup of tea.

“Going to switch off light and have a nap now.
“Will ring when I wake up as long as not late xxxxx”
“This was an out and out lie” Mr McDermott says.
He says at around 7:15pm the Clio, with its modified plate, was spotted on the M6.
The jury are then shown footage of the Clio arriving into Sunnybank Road and turning round and parking up “ready for action.”
He says Sarah WIlliams is armed with a stun gun and a large knife and the murder is “clearly about to happen.”
