Sending much strength to Sara's mum. That's all I can say. This leaves me speechless.
I hope that Sarah's Mum has been given all these horrific details beforehand and is receiving all the love and support including professional support. This is all beyond my comprehension, god knows how she is even managing to breathe, she must be in a living hell.

I guess it is so called "family solidarity" not to "grass".
That is reality in some societies - like it or not.
But...
I'm more than sure it was family pressure on the culprits to finally surrender to authorities.

Because,
why did they give up?

If they had family approval,
these criminals would never do it, never surrender IMO.

Family had enough of them and problems they brought.

I still believe that Grandad acted to protect and keep the children all together. If he'd called the authorities whilst Dad, Stepmum and Brother were in the home, the children would have been taken as well. I think he acted in the best interests of the children, keeping them away from their murdering cruel parents and providing a safe loving place for the children.

Because of the wording of the brother's message to his friend of 8.38 that evening, I'm beginning to think that Sara did not die suddenly as the result of an immediate bout of torture, but had been dying for some time/hours/days, maybe comatose or unconscious? then finally 'passed away'.
I think they already had prepared the children and themselves for Sara to die, they realised that they would need to leave the country quickly, they were partly prepared but afraid to act so as not to raise any suspicions and for fear of someone finding her alive.

I agree with this. It is so reminiscent of Logan Mwangi, the same level of horror.

Mind you,
Logan was also biracial.
And hated by his unhinged "stepfather".

Ring doorbell removed before family fled, jury told

The court heard that a video doorbell had been removed from the family home before the defendants fled to Pakistan – leaving Sara Sharif’s body inside.

Prosecutor William Emlyn Jones KC told the jury the doorbell could have provided
a “rich source of evidence”
of all the comings and goings in the month before the 10-year-old was killed.

“What is odd is that when the police went to the house after Urfan Sharif’s phone call about Sara….that Ring doorbell had been removed,”
he said.

The doorbell’s bracket was still visible to the exterior of the front door,
the jury were told.

"You might want to ask yourselves why that would have been done
and what its removal might tell you about the presence of mind of whoever removed it,”
he added.

I wonder how they found out that Sara's uncle had been living there too.

Neighbour heard sounds of ‘smacking’ followed by ‘gut-wrenching screams’, court told

:(

The court heard that a former neighbour, Chloe Redwin, who used to live above Urfan Sharif and Beinash Batool
at a previous address in 2020,
would hear sounds of “smacking” from their home.

“They were shockingly loud and would be followed by ‘gut-wrenching screams’ of young female children,”
prosecutor William Emlyn Jones KC told the jury.

“Over the screaming she would hear the mother shout, ‘shut up’
and sometimes the sounds of further smacking would be heard followed by shouting.”

The same neighbour said she would often hear children screaming,
followed by their mother shouting
“shut the f.... up” and “go to your room you f.... b....d”,
the court heard.

"Ms Redwin would also frequently hear the mother refer to the children as ‘c....’,”
the prosecutor said.

Ms Redwin said she heard shouting and screaming at
“any time of the day or night”,
but that she noticed it did not occur
when the “father of the household” was at home,
he continued.

She said she “often” said hello to Sara’s father, Urfan Sharif, and that she thought he was
“conscious of the noise his family made, because on occasions he would apologise for it”.

Maybe he gave the Horsell house as his address to Macdonalds/ His bank / other organisations His possessions could have been in one of the rooms. Neighbours and other people known to the family could have told police he lived there.

Did the neighbour report the smacking and swearing? Seems like only one of the three was heard doing this. Or so far, anyway.

Sara Sharif began wearing a hijab to conceal her injuries, prosecution suggest

The Old Bailey heard that Sara Sharif began wearing a hijab to school in January 2023
and was the only one in her household to wear one.

Prosecutor William Emlyn Jones KC told the jury:
“The prosecution suggest that the fact that Sara began to wear the hijab at around this time is indicative of the need to conceal injuries to her face and head from the outside world.”

The court heard that Sara’s primary school noticed a bruise under her left eye in June 2022
as well as a bruise on her chin and a dark mark on her right eye in March 2023.

When her year four and five teacher asked Sara about “two distinct bruises” in March 2023,
the child “acted coy and tried to hide them”,
Mr Elwyn Jones said.

He continued:
“[The teacher] observed that Sara would often pull her hijab to hide her face if she did not want to speak or was being told off.

"Sara gave multiple conflicting stories as to how she got the bruises.”

If the 'noise' was heard anytime day or night, and the father sheepishly apologized for the 'noise' it sounds like the father and uncle must also have bourn witness to the abuse at the very least sometimes when they were not working and in the house.

Interesting, and I imagine that Urfan Sharif's barrister is going to be pushing this line quite strongly. That said, given the level of Sara's injuries, how could he not have known what was going on.

In 2020, Sara would have been age 7 and her three female half siblings were just toddlers.

Honestly,
This was a House of Horrors.
How can normal human beings live like this?
Words fail me.

All children of these maniacs must be traumatized for life IMO.

One can only weep hearing these horrific details :(

From what I remember of the reporting at the time, Pakistani police started arresting family members. By their reputation, they were probably not asking nicely.

Fleeing to Pakistan as child murderers and bringing international shame with them would have a massive impact on the family still in Pakistan. Once the reality of the situation set in and whatever yarn they spun on what happened fell apart. I am sure the families instinct to protect them went with it.

My feeling is the stepmother was the main culprit. Sara was resented and resisted the role of live in help to her step mother/siblings. My speculation is that the stepmother beat her savagely during the day, and maybe encouraged her father/uncle to 'discipline' her further for so called disobedience when they got home. Though, however and whoever injured her, they are all disgustingly complicit in her abuse and death.

Neighbour heard

‘single high pitched scream’

two days before Sara died, court told

:(

Neighbour heard a
“single high-pitched scream” of “someone in pain”
two days before Sara Sharif died,
jurors were told.

Prosecutor William Emlyn Jones KC said neighbours who spoke to police after the 10-year-old’s death said
“they had never seen or heard anything which caused them any concern”.

However,
a woman had recalled that
“she heard a noise that she considered very much out of the ordinary run of the noise from a family house”
on 6 August 2023,
the prosecutor said.

He continued:
“It was a single high-pitched scream, which lasted a couple of seconds and stopped suddenly".

“It sounded to her like the scream of someone in pain,
as she put it ‘it didn’t sound good’.”

The prosecution allege
Sara died two days later on 8 August last year
and the defendants flew to Pakistan the following day.

I wonder if the former neighbour ever reported these sounds to social services or to Sara's school.

I also wonder if Sara's bruises were reported as a safeguarding concern and social services were involved.

I wonder if all the children were being smacked ,including Sara's brother, or was it just the girls or perhaps only Sara.

You would bloody hope so wouldn't you.

I frequently feel the urge to throttle the helpful neighbourhood witnesses who come out with all sorts of blinding red flags after the fact.

I am at least glad they are willing to testify, and I get assembling incidents that occurred over months and years can make something seem obvious in hindsight... but Jesus Christ, they had to have known those kids were being regularly hit. Sara was severely injured for, at minimum, weeks before she died. One anonymous phone call could have saved her.
