From the links above provided by Dotta and Skigh.

Rebecca Spencer said she heard the noises “from the moment” the Sharif family moved into a flat on Eden Grove in West Byfleet in around 2018 to 2019.

A new tenant Chloe Redwin similarly described hearing a child screaming followed by their stepmother Beinash Batool, 30, shouting, 'shut the *advertiser censored** up' and 'go to your room you *advertiser censored***** b******', it was said.

Ms Redwin would also frequently hear the mother refer to children as 'c****',

'On occasions Ms Redwin would hear sounds of smacking; they were shockingly loud and would be followed by gut-wrenching screams of a young female child.

'Over the screaming she would hear the mother shout, 'shut up' and sometimes the sounds of further smacking would be heard followed by shouting.'

None of the neighbours alerted the authorities as Sara seemed 'smartly dressed' :(:(:(

Adding link just for clarity

Sara's stepmother Beinash Batool messaged her sister Qandeela in 2020 complaining that Sharif was 'always shouting and hitting' his child, it was said.

In May 2021 she allegedly messaged her sister claiming: 'Urfan beat the c**p out of Sara. She's covered in bruises, literally beaten black.'

Batool claimed that she wanted to report Sharif saying: 'I feel really sorry for Sara' adding 'poor girl can't walk'.

In February 2022, she allegedly told her other sister Amima that her husband was 'beating Sara up…cos she's being naughty'.

She went on: 'Sara has anxiety, whatever she eats she vomits out…something happens to Sara I will not be able to forgive myself.'

In the summer of 2022, Batool is said to have messaged Qandeela again saying: 'I can't even cover it up. He beat Sara up yesterday and I can't send her to school on Monday looking like that.'

The prosecutor told jurors: 'It is the prosecution's case that Sara's death was caused by the combined actions of all three adults in the house; for the systematic, if not daily then certainly frequent assault and abuse of that little girl could not have been done without the participation, assistance and encouragement of them all.

'She could not have been kept restrained without that restraint being supervised and maintained, which takes, effectively, teamwork.'

Sara Sharif’s blood found on cricket bat at home, court told

Sara Sharif’s blood was found on a cricket bat
and a vacuum cleaner at the family home,
jurors at the Old Bailey were told.

Prosecutor William Emlyn Jones KC also alleged that bruises found on the 10-year-old’s body matched a belt buckle and plastic-coated metal pole found in an outhouse at the property,
where police also found a rolling pin with traces of her DNA.

The schoolgirl was subjected to
a “campaign of abuse” and suffered “brutal” injuries
in the weeks before she died, it is alleged.

All three defendants deny charges of murder and causing or allowing her death.

I expect the step-mom will state she was afraid of her husband's violence.

I bet she was.

After all Olga was terrified of him.

As was posted in the threads this madman once wanted to set fire to her,
but his own cousin defended her.
Olga said that all kinds of cousins were present at their flat all the time.

She divorced him.

I almost have no words to describe what I’m reading. This is one of the worst things I’ve ever read.

They all knew. They were all involved. I do not believe the narrative of the wicked stepmother or the narrative that she was frightened and controlled by her husband. Or that the uncle didn’t know what was happening. They all participated and the more I read the worse it gets.

I want to follow this to see justice being done for Sara, but I might have to step back for a while. Poor, poor Sara. I hope she’s at peace now.

From the DM link below:
Leaning against a brick outhouse was a bloodstained cricket bat which bore Sara's blood.

Inside the outhouse officers found a rolling pin, which also had Sara's DNA.

In a wendy house in the garden, the police also discovered a belt, which bore Sara's DNA as well as that of her father Sharif and her uncle Faisal Malik, jurors heard.

In addition, police found a plastic-coated metal pole in the outhouse, which experts matched to the shape of the bruises Sara suffered.

Officers also found bits of plastic bag bound up with parcel tape in an outbuilding that Mr Emlyn Jones described as 'home-made hoods'.

'They had been placed over Sara's face and then taped in place,' he told the court.

The hoods were stained with Sara's blood and saliva and allegedly contained Sharif's fingerprints.

Police tested a number of household items as they started to 'see weapons everywhere' when they learnt what had happened to Sara.

In a shed at the back of the house was a length of black rope which bore hairs ripped from Sara's head and a number of rolls of parcel tape.

The court heard Sara's 30-year-old stepmother Beinash Batool bought 12 rolls of parcel tape in July 2023, just nine days after buying six rolls from Amazon.

Jurors were told that the tape was used to construct the 'home-made hoods'.

Discarded in bins outside the family home were towels and Sara's leggings, which were soaking wet with urine, as well as a soiled nappy Sara had been forced to wear, jurors heard.

I'm new to this thread, as of today, upon reading an article about the trial which brought me here. I feel sick to my stomach. There are no words which can accurately depict the horrors that beautiful girl went through. None. Its beyond comprehension. I've kept up with a lot of threads on websleuths relating to children, but this is just a whole other level of depravity, at a level I never even realised could exist. I would have cherished her, and all the angels who have suffered at the hands of those who were supposed to care for them.

I have two daughters, my firstborn was stillborn, and my daughter here is my entire world. My brain can't reason with this. I'm in tears. I know a lot of people will think this is silly, but whenever something like this happens to a child I ask my daughter in heaven (I know not everyone believes in this, but it's the only solace I have) to go to the children and care for them, to show them the purest of love they probably never knew in life. She would have been 20 years old this year.

Now that I've visited this thread, despite how angry I feel, how stunned and filled with rage, I will continue to visit frequently as the people here give me hope. It's happened with many threads of this ilk, this forum and it's members are so incredibly important, and I salute every one of you who share information, despite how much it must affect you. The fact you continue to fight for these children in the only way you can is a testament to each of your characters. I really hope that somehow, some way, these children know there are people standing up for them, despite the fact they are no longer here.

I don't have much else to say but if I were responsible for their conviction and punishment it would far outweigh what these people (allegedly) do to children in their care. They would know exactly how their victim felt. I'm rambling so I'm shutting up. But honestly, reading this details of this trial has been like a sucker punch to the stomach.

My speculation is they all got physically disciplined, but Sara got it by far the worst.

Some households in Pakistan employ live in 'child maids' who can be girls as young as 9. In addition to this, a lot of household and childrearing duties traditionally fall to the eldest daughter, particularly in large families. I suspect that the stepmother, who had three small children on her hands, saw a combination of both in Sara. That could have been the why she was pulled from school - and/or the abuse was getting hard to hide.

When Sara resisted or failed at her role as a complaint and competent little nanny-maid, as any child would, she got beaten. As a male, her brother did not suffer under the same misogynistic expectations, so was 'disciplined' less. That could have been the seed of that disgusting dynamic seen too often in such cases. Where one child (often a stepchild) is scapegoated and targeted for ever escalating abuse. Often ending in death due to compounding injuries or neglect.

Pure speculation. IMO

Parentification of the eldest daughter is quite common and happens everywhere.
Also, in unhealthy family dynamics, it's not necessarily a lack of compliance that leads to one child being scapegoated. A scapegoated child might try do everything right, even if only out of fear of repercussions, but they always get the blame for everything that goes wrong or is wrong in the household. The child's "crime" might simply be that they are able to recognise the wrongness of the dynamic that they're living in. Unhealthy parents project all the negativity they see onto one person in the household (usually the eldest daughter), which is their (unhealthy) way of regulating their emotions.

Yes and thank you.

But this trial is my priority on WS.
I'm Polish and Sara was my compatriot.
I will stick here to the bitter end.

Bitter for these criminals, that is.

I also check Polish MSM here,
there is massive coverage of this tragedy and trial
but the same info as in English Media.

If I see something that is not covered in British MSM,
I will post here.

Examples from MSM in Poland:

So long as you look after yourself as you do it. I feel like the details on this case will only get worse and more enraging as it unwinds into the public sphere.

Also, be careful not to fall foul of British laws around what can be posted around an active trial. There are very strict media controls while the trial is ongoing and I don't know if Polish press will follow them. It might be more easily found if translated into English. Some things you find may have to be for a private group rather than the public forum.

Oh I was not blaming Pakistani culture and definitely not anything Sara did in reaction to her circumstances.

This was plain, horrific, child abuse in any culture to any child. I was more speculating on the possible household dynamics at play and the mindset of the adults involved in her abuse.

The seed of this kind of evil - how abuse is inflicted or justified, can be influenced by culture, religion or family, but it happens in all places all over the world. If we could get to the root of why some percentage of people are capable of this kind of horror, the world might be a better place.

Exactly!

A "scapegoat" is a red flag.
In a classroom
(as I am a teacher)
such a "victim pupil" means there is MUCH pedagogical work needed.
And also psychological help.

There are no "scapegoats" in happy classes.

I find the bold, underlined texts to be a little sus. Another way to look at it is that such texts may have been sent to "absolve" herself on an occasion when the child's injuries or state might have been detected by an outsider. The first underlined text, about Sara not eating, shows a level of concern for Sara's well-being which is completely at odds with what has now emerged. JMO, but a text like that might equally be an attempt to cover up deliberate starvation or a punishment of depriving food.

No worries.
Although I'm a toddler WSleuth (3 year old hehe)
I'm a smart cookie ;)

Recap:

What trial heard this morning

  • Schoolgirl Sara Sharif was made to wear a ‘home-made hood’ of plastic bags and parcel tape, the prosecution allege.
  • The 10-year-old’s blood was found on a cricket bat and a vacuum cleaner at the family home, the court heard.
  • Bruises found on Sara’s body matched a belt buckle and plastic-coated metal pole found in an outhouse at the property - where police also found a rolling pin with traces of her DNA, the jury heard.
  • A neighbour heard a “high-pitched scream” two days before Sara was killed, court told.
  • Another neighbour at a previous address claimed she heard “smacking” sounds followed by “gut-wrenching” screams at the family home.
  • Sara Sharif began wearing a hijab to school in January 2023 “to conceal injuries to her face and head from the outside world,” the prosecution suggested.

This seems to be the end for today.

For those, like me, who don't know what a Wendy house is, it's what we would call a playhouse in USA. Could be used for storage as well.

jmo
It's called a 'Wendy house' in Britain after the little house Peter Pan builds Wendy in the original Peter Pan books - Barrie also (probably) invented the name Wendy.

When he died, Barrie willed copyright for Peter Pan to The Great Ormond Street (children's) Hospital. It's one of the only copyrights in the UK with no end date, so Peter Pan can help financially support the hospital indefinitely.

Not relevant, but this thread could do with a little reminder that there's light in the world.

"See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil"

When we get to the inevitable Public Inquiry, the school not reporting obvious safeguarding concerns is going to play very badly.
It turns out that the school did make a referral to Social Services, or, at least they were told that they should.

"The school recorded Sara had a bruise under her left eye in June 2022 and then in March 2023, a bruise on her chin and a dark mark on her right eye.

The school contacted Children’s Single Point of Access for advice, and it was agreed that a referral to social services was needed, Mr Emlyn Jones said."

"Sara's primary school noticed a bruise under her left eye in June 2022,
a bruise on her chin and a dark mark on her right eye in March 2023,
the court heard.

She gave multiple conflicting tales of how she got the injuries and used her hijab to conceal her face when questioned by teachers, Mr Emlyn Jones KC said.

Sara was withdrawn to be home schooled
in April 2023."
