I'm puzzled by the way he has admitted to killing Sara, promoted himself as a violent father who 'lost it' and 'went too far', and even 'ready to face the death penalty' It makes me think that he could be hiding something worse - if that is possible? and deflecting attention from something else that was going on in the house(s).
I think a Muslim funeral is meant to take place within 24 hours of death, so this request could be - besides being another distraction - a long shot at a burial without a post-mortem.

I think that if the post mortem showed anything worse ,which I am taking you thinking of sexual abuse,then it would have been reported and included in the charges.

Evidence against Batool -

• Female adult voice heard raised with screams from child (father not at home).
• Bite marks not of father or uncle and Batool's refusal to provide dental impressions.
• Batool took Sara out of school and said she would be home schooling
• Batool spoke on the video from Pakistan (she wears the pants in the relationship with Sharif).

Evidence against Sharif:

• His fingerprints on the masking tape containing Sara's blood.
• His apologizing to neighbours about the "noise" - he was very much aware and even part of what was going on!

I doubt any other child was being abused as Sara was the only one wearing Hijab to cover the injuries.

I dont fall for Sharif's crying when he called 999! He couldn't shed a tear when his little baby girl was being tortured and yet he could "cry" for her when she is dead and out of reach from his and the terrible trio's torture?!?! (IMOO). He was crying because selfishly, his world suddenly turned upside down and he had to leave like the coward he is! And his request for a Muslim burial is so that the autopsy is rushed and all the injuries are hidden!

I am not a Muslim, but it annoys me that they have used the Hijab and Islam to hide their heinous crimes!

So many people have failed the little girl! The school, the neighbours, the Social Services, her uncle, <modsnip - not victim friendly> - everyone turned a blind eye! If he was scared, he could raise it through the school or through NSPCC, speak to a Mosque cleric, anything just anything!!! IMOO

I apologise for my vent but - I, as an adult, cant bear to read about what poor Sara went through for months! And yet she lived through the actual pain every minute, every day for months alone with the people she trusted inflicting the horrific injuries constantly.... and I am just reading about it and cant take the pain of my imagination of what she went through.... :-(

Mr Emlyn Jones KC also gave accounts from neighbours, including one woman who heard two days before Sara's death "a single high pitched scream, which lasted a couple of seconds and stopped suddenly".

A woman who lived near the family's previous address in West Byfleet said she heard “shockingly loud” sounds of smacking and “gut wrenching screams” of young female children.

Another West Byfleet neighbour said they heard banging and rattling sounds, often accompanied by the sounds of a child crying or screaming, the court heard.

She did consider reporting what she heard to social services but ultimately decided against it, Mr Emlyn Jones KC added.

Mr Emlyn Jones KC said a bloodstained cricket bat, a rolling pin with Sara’s DNA on it, a metal pole, a belt and rope were found near the family’s outhouse.

“You can now look again at the bruises and broken bones Sara had suffered with a clearer understanding of how at least some of those injuries appear to have been inflicted,” he told the jury.

Plastic bags bound with parcel tape were also found in wheelie bins at the family’s property, after Ms Batool ordered 18 rolls of parcel tape in two separate online orders, prosecutors said.

“It is obvious what these are. They are homemade hoods. They had been placed over Sara’s head and taped in place,” Mr Emlyn Jones KC said.

“If this was being done by one of the adults in the house, why aren’t the others releasing her? Why aren’t the others helping her, preventing this terrible treatment?” he added.

I almost have no words to describe what I’m reading. This is one of the worst things I’ve ever read.

They all knew. They were all involved. I do not believe the narrative of the wicked stepmother or the narrative that she was frightened and controlled by her husband. Or that the uncle didn’t know what was happening. They all participated and the more I read the worse it gets.

I want to follow this to see justice being done for Sara, but I might have to step back for a while. Poor, poor Sara. I hope she’s at peace now.

Leaning against a brick outhouse was a bloodstained cricket bat which bore Sara's blood.

Inside the outhouse officers found a rolling pin, which also had Sara's DNA.

In a wendy house in the garden, the police also discovered a belt, which bore Sara's DNA as well as that of her father Sharif and her uncle Faisal Malik, jurors heard.

In addition, police found a plastic-coated metal pole in the outhouse, which experts matched to the shape of the bruises Sara suffered.

Officers also found bits of plastic bag bound up with parcel tape in an outbuilding that Mr Emlyn Jones described as 'home-made hoods'.

'They had been placed over Sara's face and then taped in place,' he told the court.

The hoods were stained with Sara's blood and saliva and allegedly contained Sharif's fingerprints.

Police tested a number of household items as they started to 'see weapons everywhere' when they learnt what had happened to Sara.

In a shed at the back of the house was a length of black rope which bore hairs ripped from Sara's head and a number of rolls of parcel tape.

The court heard Sara's 30-year-old stepmother Beinash Batool bought 12 rolls of parcel tape in July 2023, just nine days after buying six rolls from Amazon.

Jurors were told that the tape was used to construct the 'home-made hoods'.

Discarded in bins outside the family home were towels and Sara's leggings, which were soaking wet with urine, as well as a soiled nappy Sara had been forced to wear, jurors heard.

I'm wondering if this was done after she'd died, or fallen unconscious, to make sure she died. Surely she'd have suffocated with plastic taped over her face.

No, I think it was part of her torture. The stepmonster ordered ‘18 rolls of parcel tape in two separate online orders, prosecutors said.’

I still believe that Grandad acted to protect and keep the children all together. If he'd called the authorities whilst Dad, Stepmum and Brother were in the home, the children would have been taken as well. I think he acted in the best interests of the children, keeping them away from their murdering cruel parents and providing a safe loving place for the children.

I just think he obstructed justice for Sara.

Step"mother" is wearing glasses and her arrogance/defiance is not to be seen.

I don’t think it was. The links above state they found hoods at the property and it mentions multiple rolls of parcel tape being ordered in July 2023 which was used to make the hoods.

Although it’s not explicit in the news reports I assume they didn’t place them in a way to suffocate her. What I think they used them for is even more awful than using them to suffocate her.

It was such a nice house.
I guess it was a council house and they paid not much.

Why were they sooo angry?
So full of hatred?
Negative emotions?

They had a nice house, husband had a job, wife was a housewife.
Children attended school.
They were healthy.

What was wrong with these people?
Why was the wife so vulgar?
And the husband so aggressive?

They had so much
and never appreciated what they had it seems.

Isn't the mother of the 13yo son also Sara's mother? If so the grandfather is preventing contact between mother and son. I don't see that as being 'best interest' for the son or his mother. Especially when you consider in what awful, awful way the mother has been deprived of Sara. MOO

I admit tho, I haven't read the background to the case for months, so I may be wrong.

I wouldn't refer to what was being done to Sara as smacking... A neighbour or two gave witness to a 'smacking sound' but she was being beaten up in an appalling way. Poor little girl.

Her other siblings are still alive so I presume they didn't get treated this badly. If the father convinced himself that what he and his second wife and brother all allegedly did to Sara was legal then I'm sure he wouldn't see anything wrong with merely smacking and slapping his other children.

It seems that former neighbours decided against reporting any sounds from next door, if you read some of the reports linked on this thread today.

I agree. They had a house which many people who had been brought up in in the area and whose family had lived in the village for generations would have loved to have lived in.

Why didn't the mother have contact in the weeks/months before Sara died? Did she loose custody or was the father unlawfully keeping the kids from her?

Yes that, but I was wondering also about filming or video, or other people coming to join in the torture and abuse, sadists sharing with a like-minded group, I'm looking for a reason and I don't believe these three adults.

That portrait style photo of Sara in the little green dress, slightly off her shoulders, the makeup and hair, lighting is carefully staged, it does not chime with the muslim dress for school and the strict and discipling father, and religious talk, it does not make sense considering what she was being subjected to at the time.
Who set up and took the picture I wonder.

Did these adults invent the idea of tying a child by her ankles to a heating pipe so that she burns, did they think up a way to cause 11 spinal fractures then try it out, did someone go off to find the vacuum cleaner mid-event - or was it ready and waiting? some of this happened over a period of years it seems, then they more recently become very practiced at breaking small bones - fingers, hands, wrists.......... It cannot have escaped their attention that she would die at some point? what was driving them?
