The Muslim community came together at the UK's oldest mosque for a funeral ceremony for Sara Sharif. Large crowds descended on Shah Jahan Mosque in Woking for a Ghaibana Janazah, a traditional Islamic funeral prayer, for the 10-year-old who was murdered by her father and stepmother at their home in Horsell.

The mosque was crowded full of men and women, with many struggling to fit in the room to join the communal prayer. After the Janazah head Imam Hafiz Hashmi told the crowds: "Families and friends share the responsibility of looking out for one another, and we must do everything in our power to ensure that no other child suffers in such a devastating manner."

I think this is a very good thing.
'Sara's body was laid to rest in Poland as part of a Christian funeral service held by her mother. But members of Woking's Islamic community felt, because Sara was raised as part of the Islamic faith; it was their religious obligation to perform Ghaibana Janazah in her name. A Ghaibana Janazah is performed when the deceased person is absent from the funeral.'

Grim reality of living with a murderer:

"Olga said Sharif would sleep with money all the time and she had to plead for cash for food for the children.

'He told me that he dressed me and no one would help me if I left him because I don’t know the language and I have never worked here.

They kicked him out of McDonald’s (where he was a shift manager) because he was stealing money. He didn’t have a job. He took all the money from me.

Sara was living with Olga from 2015, when they fled to a domestic refuge to escape Sharif’s violence.

Has olga ever confirmed if urfan was lying when he accused her of harming the children. All accusations came from him telling social workers . I haven't seen evidence of olga refuting the claims but had wondered if it was true .

I definitely feel urfan coerced both women into biting Sara and a lot of abuse towards the children in olga and urfans relationship is mirrored in his and bienash's. The common denominator is him . There is such thing as a folie a deux this is where two people who are equally as evil or suffer the same mental illness come together and commit crimes together. I believe this to be true in urfan and bienash's relationship but not in the one with olga.

I don't feel Sara was raised in the Islamic faith tbh . I feel islam was used to hide injures and to pawn off inquisitive people . Maybe if urfan and bienash actually followed Islamic traditions and were devoted to the faith they would not have harmed Sara. Urfan could have spoken to the iman in the mosque if he was gambling and drinking and having anger issues . By using Islam to excuse and cover up their crimes it is actually an insult to the Muslim community whom can be subjected to racial profiling, slurs and marginalisation in Western society without someone like urfan staining the religion . I feel the Muslim community in Woking felt they needed to do something to show this type of crime is not acceptable in their communities imo

Yes, I agree. I don't know if Sara was in any way brought up as a Muslim but it was her ostensible culture and as you say used as a pretext, which must be offensive to all decent Muslims.
I think it's a good thing for the Muslim community in the area to have a public focus for their outrage and sorrow for Sara, as well as demonstrating to the wider society that they don't think this crime was in any way justifiable.

My guess is SS are wary to get involved in immigrants' families due to "sensitive cultural issues".
U was abusive even towards SS women workers (as was reported).
Those who asked about the sudden hijab wearing by Sara were silenced by U claiming that his daughter "was embracing her religion".
And nobody dared to broach this subject further.

Re homeschooling

What exactly were these murderers' skills to supposedly homeschool Sara?
Their own education?
Knowledge of Literature, History, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Foreign Languages, ICT and other subjects?

Are parents who wish to homeschool their children checked in this regard?

What are these kids really learning?

Are they taking any State Exams?

Imo - any covering of the face in public should be illegal save for genuine health and safety reasons or legal requirements such as crash helmets.

Humans interact via facial, unspoken communication much more than we appreciate. It is unnatural behavior to cover ones face when interacting with other people. Imo, someone covering their face is a sign that they are being deceptive.

I noticed it in photo in hijab and in U's mugshot.

It seems to be so called "lazy eye" -
eye with poor vision that is mainly caused by underuse, especially the unused eye in a squint.

I guess the "father" didn't take care of her sight and didn't take her to ophthalmologist to correct the visual impairment.

IMO Sara inherited it from U.
I see it clearly in his mugshot too.
It should be corrected in childhood.
(Glasses/therapies or surgery).

As a teacher I notice all kinds of health issues in children.

'He was sliced in the neck and face, and is still in healthcare and in a very bad way.

'He was lucky to survive, has had to have stitches and will have scars as a permanent reminder of the attack. The guards tried to keep him safe because he obviously had a target on his back after the case was such big news.

'Something like this was always on the cards, and an attack was probably only a matter of time.'

Same thing happened to Sutcliffe. He got seriously attacked three times while in prison, one attack nearly blinding him, before he eventually died of COVID.
