How far apart are the house Cody apparently went missing from and the new house they were moving in to?

Chief says Codi Bigsby case was mishandled, search continues with ‘immense’ amount of evidence | WAVY.com
bringing forward
“This is all of our obligation. We’re all here for Codi Bigsby. I don’t know if those efforts will be fruitful, but what do you do? Do you sit and do nothing? I don’t think so,” Talbot said.
Snipped:
Stallings stated the lead detective in question likely won’t face any criminal charges for his mistake.

“Potentially he could sue him for violating his constitutional rights, but we really don’t see that for a lot of reasons. One, if the evidence doesn’t come in at trial, he really hasn’t been damaged. There’s no real damage. So, there’s really no civil punishment or criminal punishment to the detective it’s just what the department would do for violating that procedure,” said Stallings.

WHAT A MESS!
This idea that violating constitutional rights is only damaging if the evidence went to a trial is pretty appalling. It is a violation to everyone's rights when they are broken. We've all seen cases where over zealous questioning has lead to false confessions, wrong improsonment and at other times, the probable offender being able to walk away because of these violations.

Hampton police previously asked for information from anyone who had seen Codi since Christmas.

However, police on Thursday sent out a tweet that asked for information from anyone who had seen Codi in the past three months, which goes back to mid-November. Police also said anyone who has home cameras near Buckroe Pointe apartments to come forward.

A Hampton Police Division spokesman said the new release Thursday “was intended to do several things”: Renew the request for people to send in video footage from the area, and gather more comprehensive information about Codi’s whereabouts.

The spokesman also said the expanded timeline will help investigators build a “comprehensive picture” for the case.

It makes me really sad that we still don't have the last seen by someone outside the household timeline nailed down. 3 months and they haven't found anyone yet who saw this little guy alive during that range?

The realtor said she thought it was Codi who was with Cory in November when they met. Is that why they backed it up, just curious. As others have pointed out, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and his birthday all happened in the suspect period. I feel it's safe to say, no one this far has been able to bring forth any proof Codi was alive and well or LE wouldn't still be asking 18 days later. I wonder what kind of excuses were offered? Covid precautions, or the kids have colds we can't attend?

We also haven't heard from one person (aside from Cory's sister) who knows Cory or who claims to be a friend or acquaintance. We don't know much about Cory or the life he was living prior to calling to report his son missing. Maybe he just wasn't a social guy? Or if he was, maybe people didn't really know about the kids to even ask because he didn't talk about them?

Did he keep the children inside all the time?
Didn’t see anyone at Thanksgiving? Christmas? No aunts/uncles/grandparents?
Cousins to play with? :(
Did neighbors hear any noises?
When did the mother last see her children?
Just tell LE where he is.....

I would be interested in hearing when the last time anyone saw the 2 year olds, who are still alive and well. Is this a case where no one ever came over to the house, or is this a case where people were in and out and can vouch for the other three very frequently, just not Codi?

It's possible that the Realtor can say for sure that he had a little boy with him police can't be 100% sure it was Codi.
Isn't one of the other children who lived with Cory also 4?
and they are brothers, im sure a few favor each other at least.

The Omicron variant of Covid hit VA hard during most of that time frame, too. A lot of us limited our involvement out of the house during that period.

No pictures of him were taken during ANY of those 3 events?
Wonder if there were any new Christmas or birthday presents that were purchased by dad specifically for Codi?

If the standard is the witness has to have pictures to prove their contact with him, that's a little different from someone who dropped by saying yah I saw him there.

I just find it odd there would be no cell photos of Codi on his birthday, on Christmas or on Thanksgiving or randomly on any date between those events, by his dad or anyone.

Of course, perhaps they do have photos of Codi during that time period; I'm just assuming they don't otherwise they wouldn't be seemingly trying to narrow down a timeline for when Codi was last seen by anyone, would they?

While hearing what the neighbor says, I'm sad, but not surprised. What does surprise me is the father was supposed to be the one best suited to care for 4 children. Otherwise you'd think they'd be with the mother.

As for him not opening the door when people came over... it likely was so people can't see what's in the house, and the state of it. Then again, he might not be keen on being around people due to CV19. That was my first thought when he preferred to deal with the real estate agent via text which she thought was odd. I didn't find it odd at all due to CV19, and the fact he had youngsters that wouldn't be easy to bring along. Especially since they don't sound very well behaved from what the neighbor says. I'm not blaming the children, I'm putting that on Cory.
