Let me add that this little personal matter is not an atypical stall tactic attorneys use when things aren't going their way. It really makes me mad when it happens but opposing counsel has done it to me and then gotten away with it.

And as to a plea deal? No way, IMO. This is a delaying tactic, plain and simple, that may be bolstered by a real personal issue JB is milking. Happens all the time.

wftv reports her crying.

I noticed the red nose and mouth area when she walked into the courtroom after lunch. Go back and look at some of the photo's of her after crying in court. Afterwards she has the same redness on her face.

Right after adjournment the server went wonkie. I went out and never really got back in so I quit trying and went to run errands. :banghead:

So who do you think will be next on the Defense Team to develop an illness/injury??? Maybe that should be a new poll!

Good question and awesome poll idea!

So, Baez pulled a rabbit out of his hat...This circus is full of tricks.

4real since day 32 it has been ICA, CA, GA AND JB who've made this the circus that it's become. And Mr. Baez has repeatedly sought to do interviews with TRUTV and the like. All the whilst he cried, whined and complained of media scrutiny and satuartion, the effect on his clients constitutional right to a fair trial. Yeah, ok JB.

Mark my words, this jury selection will finish tomorrow. JB knew fully he had a pre-trial conf. tomorrow yet he did not make alternate plans. Instead he makes the cirus go round and more delays.

I am a betting woman. I am betting on HHJBP. I am certain that Mr. Baeezzz is going to be thoroughly chewed tomorrow when HHJBP gets hold of him! :twocents:

RE: the video

While Casey is talking to Ms Frye, she says something to Casey and then Casey clearly says "I think that's the problem."

Then Mason comes over and says something to Casey and it appears Casey says "(Are you gonna) do it?" He says something quickly and she says "Good" and then "Do it" and then "I want it done."

I'm guessing at the "are you gonna" part but the Do it part is definite and it seems like a question to which he replies something and she says "good".

I've been watching this video over and over also. I agree with you - except I thought she might have said I think HE'S the problem.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I was just talking with someone about the case and what went on today, and they said that you are unable to plea guilty on a capital murder case, and you must have a trial. Since your life is at stake? 1st, is KC being tried for capital murder? and 2nd, is this true or no? Thanks for any help.

I believe the sidebar was about striking the juror and that the request to extend the lunch was kind of an off the cuff request (see wftv vid). Whatever happened - happened during lunch.

It was stated by someone that JB left the courthouse for the lunch recess while the other members of the DT went to the cafeteria.

It would appear that JB had something to do on the lunch recess apart from the DT. Perhaps it was a private matter - something he thought he could take care of by telephone. But then learned that whatever it was required him to be somewhere in person.

It would also appear that he called someone on the DT to let them know what was going on, as there was some sort of meeting in the hallway with members of the DT and MMHP at about 1:00pm. That's probably when HHMP learned what was going on.

But somehow, I just can't believe that it's all so innocent. I have the feeling that JB is up to something that will delay the trial.

.. and someone brought this out. Don't know if anyone has posted it already, but there was a link to a wftv.com video http://www.wftv.com/video/27938803/index.html that someone said was right before the lunch recess. About the 11:25 mark you can see JB come to ICA and she mouths to him "do it" and then "I want it done." I watched a couple times and that seems to be the case. What do you think?

Thanks
I just watched it..it does look like she is saying that

I don't know what to think anymore....:maddening:

It could be related to ICA/the case...Jury selection and JBP-that is what I have thought all day.

It could be about Baez himself or his family...

tomorrow is another day ...fellow WS'ers

I will say this though. If it is a plea deal you can color me shocked. ICA just doesn't come across as someone who will EVER plea out. She's still so very defiant in court. Almost like she thinks how DARE the state of FL hold me accountable.

But if she ever does plea out it won't be until the very very very last second. ICA still has a lot of time left to plead out.

It's either a appeal or some stall tactic by JB.

Yup.

My vote is if she did not get rid of Baez then it is AF she wants off her case... just a weird feeling I got watching the interactions today.

There's a lot of tension in such cases. Very rarely does that tension lead to the firing of attorneys. casey knows she has the best team she can get for what she wants to do and IMO, she'll grasp onto them for dear life.

:maddening: I hope HE's the problem isn't JBP

Have a weird feeling is has something to do with the PI, JL. Why is here now?

Hope he's not trying to persuade the PJ. I have no doubt that JB would try to persuade the PJ. Remember the threatening phone call to AH from NY?

Today... a total waste! And all this hush-hush? I have NEVER seen such a mess!

It's becoming apparent and it makes me wonder if the 'personal emergency' was real or cooked up. Funny that it should happen right after HHJP gives a speech about losing access to the courtroom and they are running out of jurors and time. Just seems to me that no matter what tactics are being used, the inevitable is going to happen anyway.

I put all this speculation at Judge Perry's feet. He has been the one pushing to get this trial going and all of a sudden he sends everyone home without an explanation.

Makes me think whatever it is made the rush to picking a jury not as important as it once was. The only thing that could be is a plea deal in the works.

Casey seemed resolute to me today, was not covering her mouth when talking to lawyers much and the lawyers were not really trying to cover theirs.

  • #255
I am obviously very immature, because the more I think about Baez "urging" people to "stop the speculation", the more wildly I have the urge to speculate! :D

  • #256
Maybe Baez had a slip of the tongue today when he said (can't remember the exact words) he wanted to dismiss the judge, excuse the judge, something like that and I think everyone laughed. Maybe he is going to try to get JP removed.

  • #257
Something before lunch happened, possibly during the sidebar to make JPB order such a long lunch break. He would never do this on his own as his priority is to get a jury sworn ASAP to avoid any jury tampering.

I don't think he would do this unless the DT came up with some excuse for needing this much time.

IMO, the DT are now at their long hallway, one more PJ accepted and we have a sworn jury.

CM and JB are two sneaky, snarky attorneys and their plan all week was to postpone getting a jury seated. They will do anything to avoid getting that 12th juror.

Whatever this latest private matter is, it has been planned all week and I don't think it will be their last stunt.

Mr. Baez has a pre-trial hearing tomorrow @ 1:30 p.m. in Orlando at the Orange County court house. I am expecting HHJBP to go through the roof on this one.

I think JB wants a do over on picking a jury, and he will do anything to get it. jmo
