Well apparently what ever the "emergency" is, it's not bad enough to stop him from texting media.........

The big hint came to me when he mentioned his other responsibilities not being met earlier & then requesting the extra 15 mins. for lunch time. Mark my words when I say that HHJBP will have some words for Mr. Baaaeeezzz tomorrow morning and he better have a real whopper, a truthful honest one. Else he's gonna have some explaining to do...CONTEMPT....OMG I would absolutely love it if that happened!!!

About the 11:25 mark you can see JB come to ICA and she mouths to him "do it" and then "I want it done." I watched a couple times and that seems to be the case. What do you think?

That's not what it looks like, to me... but earlier when she is talking to Miss Frye, it looks like she said "I think it's a problem."

Right TEH. You have a private matter to deal with, don't ask to be excused from the court proceedings? Instead you just leave, and then text with the media? How many members of the jury panel are going to hear about this and have to be released? Was this intentional?

If Baez in fact said it was a private matter, it must be family related. Which may be legit, but which also probably was really *good* or really *bad* timing, depending on who you are. I bet HHJP is steamed, rightly or wrongly, if it was 'family emergency'.

Maybe his wife threatened to divorce him for his support of Casey...

Watching this video carefully of the sidebar that occured just after the above noted marker and it appears to me that it is only about the SA using one of their P-strikes against this morning's PJ.

LB is the one doing all the talking, she has her reading glasses on and all parties are focused on and listening to her not the judge. Then JB goes back and gets some papers off his table and is face to face with LB discussing intensely, neither appears to turn to the HHJP at all until the end. Then HHJP goes back to the bench and announced the SA's p-strike.

Could the striking of this juror make the DT team want to appeal on some grounds?

Not sure either why this was done as a sidebar versus open court.

Wonder if this has anything to do with blocking this Trademark thing and the other that was going to be filed against BC? Don't know where he'd be concerned with BC, but ? Maybe an emergeny injunction against her parents? TRO? I hope JB isn't filing something to recuse HHJP! I'd be SOOOOO Ticked! I sort of have a feeling it concerns the A's for some odd reason.

I just never heard of court being stopped because someone says they have a personal issue to deal with, without the judge explaining it. That is where I am lost. I don't mean saying what the issue is, just saying that is why.

It could honestly be both. Let's face it I'm pretty sure HHJP is just as skeptical of JB as we are. So if JB complained of a "emergency family issue" HHJP might be skeptical of its authenticity. And even if it is true HHJP could just be peeved that yet another day is wasted and he's running out of options to get a jury seated.

I knew there was no way this case was going to be heard in a timely fashion no matter how hard HHJP pushed to get it going this week.

I agree that it could very well be both. JB had some sort of urgent private matter to take care of, and HHMP could just be expressing frustration with the process of jury selection dealt another blow.

HHMP announced that the trial would begin on Monday, May 23rd. I would imagine he's done some calculations. He stated there were 15 more potential jurors and that so far it's taken about an hour to go through voir dire with each PT, and that equals about 15 hours. I think HHMP was looking to get through 4 or 5 more PTs this afternoon, and possibly finishing up the last 10 tomorrow. He was hoping to get a jury of 12 sworn today, and spend the next few days getting alternates. JB's private matter just put all of HHMP's calculations at risk.

JMO but I don't believe any reasoning Baez gives to the media. Especially when he says stop speculating. I wasn't holding my breath to get the truth from him.

Could it possibly be due to the fact that the JP changed his mind and agreeded to question the other 15. In doing so, JB asked for more challenges since he would not have used his if he had known he did not have to - the judge then denied the request for more challenges and now JB is going to appeal?

IMO, it is not JB, ica is talking with ........ just before they stand, notice the right hand of the male, the RING ......... I believe it is CM. It sure is his 'jewelry.'

Well if he is really sick he would have one fast recovery if he is in court in the morning. I don't know about other people but when I get sick it is usually a 2 day thing.
