I asked this last night but never got an answer......What has the weather been like in Weston? Has it been chilly at night? Chilly enough to explain a parent putting a sweatshirt on a child when putting them to bed?? I don't see a 3 yr old putting a sweatshirt on before they wander from home. IMO.

Don't know about the weather, but I wouldn't put too much stock in it either way. She might just want to wear the sweatshirt. My kids have gone to sleep in some... interesting concoctions of their own making. Temperature doesn't seem to faze them.

~Respectfully snipped and BBM~

Anyone besides me find it strikingly odd that there has been no plea from the family 'to not hurt her'. Strikingly different from the comments of the parents of little Randall Chesser who went missing Saturday about 200 miles from where Aliayah went missing.

I don't find this odd. I doubt I would say things like that. It would be too difficult to think about, let alone say out loud. The things that would run through your head..... Ugh. I wouldn't be one to give voice to it - too hard on my heart.

This precious child hasn't been found yet? :( was hoping for some good news.

sadly I think the most likely thing is that she did get up and wandered down to the river. Parents can rarely believe their child would get out on their own but I know I read about an open door early on. Its to hard to believe when the water is so near..you almost need her to be abducted as a parent. Then there is hope.

Dogs scented by the river. Its close to home..we know 3 year olds can do a 150 yards no problem, look at other cases.

I had a friend who's 2 or 3 year old son got up one morning, unlocked the front door and went walking to his Uncle's house, some 3 miles away at about 5 a.m. Fortunately for all, the walk was pretty much a straight shot, on the road, and he was spotted fairly quickly - he managed to get more than a mile away though. He was spotted by someone on their way to work. Small town and they called police.

The kid is an escape artist. He will probably be Houdini the 2nd when he grows up. LOL

This little girl looks a lot more serious and shy, so it is hard to know if she would unlock a door and go out on her own. :(

Does someone have a map handy for a repost?

The shed just spooked me out, and I realize the family lives close to a river, but I am trying to see where this shed and bridge relate to where the family lives.

I have a friend and the same thing happened with his child at about the same age and they lived in the mountains of Idaho. He was walking to the restaurant his mom worked at when they found him. Dad was working night shift and over slept.

You are so right! I had a school teacher who's 2 year old son got up and went out the door to a pond about 2 or 3 hundred yards from the home. She found him in the pond dead so can this happen, yes. Little ones can be so quiet and disappear in a minute.

I just emailed WDTV and asked them to put a better reporter on the story.

Any response from WDTV yet? Maybe we could supply the reporter with a list of questions if that would help?

I just now learned about this little one. I have Nancy Grace on my facebook. I don't care what anybody says about her---she does get the word out about missing children!

Going to go back and read now. Such a lovely child, I hope she is found safe and quickly.

From the above link:

And as family members wait out the search, they say all they can do is ask for your help, and pray for answers.

"They are doing everything that they possibly can, but the more people we can get to help, the better chances of bringing her home," Lunsford said.

"We love her. We miss her," Evans said.

"We want her home," Lunsford said.

Anyone besides me find it strikingly odd that there has been no plea from the family 'to not hurt her'. Strikingly different from the comments of the parents of little Randall Chesser who went missing Saturday about 200 miles from where Aliayah went missing.

Also, and I may be way off the mark here, but I am getting a tinge of the Cindy Casey jail house recordings when reading mom and grandma's statements-with the wording, we want her back, or we just want her back. I don't have working computer speakers so this is just my observation from watching online without sound, or having seen news clips on tv of the two C's.

Just a bit of good news for those who haven't heard. Randall was FOUND today :) Wow!

Now let's hear those same words for Aliyah!

Sharedspirit, thank you. Funny that I remember that-Weston is down state for me. I am praying for no rain today back there! Did anyone find out if the locks on dams were open? My brother was an excellent swimmer but did drown as the undertow took him down at the mouth of the Ohio river. I hope my fellow West Virginians find her today.

Wow, Peazzer, that is horrible to hear. God bless you.

From Aliayah's fb page - Leslie Rubin I am a reporter from WCHS-TV in Charleston and am coming up now to cover the story.

Thank goodness! No offense intended to the sweet reporter who has been on the case, but seriously, I have felt I've been watching a high school journalism class at work. We need some new blood on this case. Someone who is not afraid to ask LE the hard questions and not afraid to really talk to the family, in depth.

If that was my child, if I wasn't hospitalized by then, I would be wanting to talk to every news reporter possible, to get the word out. If the child has been taken, well, cars go fast and this case does not have much traction yet.

K-9s and divers were in the river today and while the people in the small Bendale community are trying to stay hopeful, the Sheriff says they're running out of time and leads.
"We are search and rescue as we speak, but I could also say, you know, in our opinion we're running out of any leads. We're exacting all of our efforts in the immediate area. And then if we don't locate in the immediate area, we have no clue which way to go from here."

This doesn't sound hopeful at all

What is the pattern for garbage collection in this area and where is the nearest landfill site? Is all her toys in the house or on the property - normally if a child goes wandering they will take something with them I think.

Has Daddy been interviewed by LE and how many adults were in the house the night Aliayah went missing. All questions that need to be answered. Do they have a vehicle or was there a vehicle at the house that night?

Has the search area expanded beyond the river banks and river?

Any unknown vehicles in the vicinity that night. Have other areas where they lived been scouted out. Any unusual activity during the night that Aliayah went missing?

Way too many questions and not enough answers.
