Maybe Dungey wanted to split the testimony into (1) yesterday - longer day and a lot of people here believed him and (2) today, very short day, but a lot of people here find him not believable..
Will (1) stay in jurors minds?
aah what does that mean? what else were they expecting? Each defense is asked if they want to present new evidence. Were they not? Surely this isn't a new trial?
I see it differently. MS is telling a story. It isn't just a story with gaps that the crown needs to fill. Ms's story, even with gaps, as he presents it, may not seem believable by the jury who is seeing him tell it first hand - it may be seen as self serving kaka by the jury and it may not...
If it happened that way, I think it must have been spur of the moment. Otherwise it would have made more sense to have MS waiting in the Yukon. The idea of their friend circling back seems weak.
I don't buy the change of clothes reasoning. You don't hide your face but you think changing from one hoodie to another will make a difference? Maybe having one man show up for the test drive and then two do the later robbery would throw the trail more.
I am not acquainted with the area. If DM and MS were dropped off around 9 pm (walking up driveway at 905), how much time would their "friend" need to drive around looking for the Tim Hortons before giving up and coming back. (Yes I know the friend is fake). I am just wondering how reasonable...
Does anyone know if this is what will happen to a window shot at close range - but after passing through poor Tim Bosma? (a hole vs a shatter: and how big a hole?) thanks!!
Well I would be asking why you need a change of clothes to hook up a trailer? I agree this is deflection but not very effective IMO. It would be better not to mention it and pull a CN ( I don't remember) when Pillay cross examines him - if he does. Pillay has to be careful not to incriminate DM.
I wonder if this lull in friendship/business between DM and MS 2008-2010 was when DM was with his fiancee - maybe MB noticed where DM was headed by 2008 and - no pun intended - tried to head him off at the pass and get him a steadying influence of a fiancee. But it didn't work and along came CN...
I don't think I have been judging Pillay since I thought DM was guilty of murder right from the first few days of evidence: cell phone/burner phone/tattoo/leaving the truck in plain sight evidence. Everything else (that he may or may not have asked) just seemed to fade to less importance to me...
I agree.
But i am going to take it one step further.
Imagine the stereotypical opposite:
A highly intelligent woman enters a beauty pageant. She doesn't want to dumb down what she has to say lest people find her less attractive. Being intelligent is who she is. Should she have to dumb...
when people say "into medicine" in both of these contexts I take it to mean medical school and then the medical field (the actual one with physicians and a college) and not something in a broad health field. Say you are going into the health sciences if you must, but "going into medicine" to me...
I'm going to offend a bunch of people but those majors are ones where you can get high marks (and look good on your med school application). high marks in comparison to those that slog through the hard sciences, physics, chemistry and biology. In my humble opinion I mean.
