Regarding some of the concerns and worry, I understand, mostly because of what happened during the CA trial. And this trial has SO much more pressure on the jury.
And thank goodness for that! The jury doesn't need to hear Mr. West interject his personal frustration into closing. M'OM will do a much better job. IMO
Oh, I heard Mr. West this morning (not live but later) and I've heard him go on and on through-out this whole trial. I have as much disdain for him raising his voice as I do any other lawyer. I just don't think it's necessary to be so dramatic, the truth doesn't need it. If...
JMO but when a lawyer feels the need to constantly raise his voice or yell to make a point, I tune out. The truth does not need to be loud to be heard.
I feel for this jury. I have the ability to mute and re-read comments on websleths that I missed this morning. I can walk away, fix lunch or put in a load of laundry. They have no choice but to sit there and listen to every last word. I just don't think it's necessary to go on and on like...
Due to unforeseen circumstances I was not able to be here earlier. Apparently I missed a lot! I've been furiously reading comments on the thread. Would someone be so kind as to summarize what has happened thus far. Thanks sooooo much!
I'm as guilty as anyone for not knowing all the exact street names in my neighborhood. I think a lot of us need to get out google maps and do some memorizing ;) Well, at least I do! JMO
If the State wants to bully a witness who went through having her home broken into while holding her son in one hand and a pair of rusty scissors in another as her only weapon to defend herself. He's welcome to it but he's making the State look desperate. JMO
JMO I predict that Mr. Root will have a fine career ahead of him. He's been able to handle the stress in the courtroom thanks to the judge and the prosecution trying to throw anything at him in hopes that something will stick. Well done Mr. Root, well done.
Okay, doesn't this discussion between M'OM and the witness regarding "hate, spite, anger, verbal abuse, confrontation" make anyone else uncomfortable given what just happened? JMO
Maybe I'm over reacting, but what Judge Nelson just did has created a ton of stress in the court room. They just got back from lunch but I they would take a recess so everyone could regroup and start again on the right foot. JMO
