He is being charged with rape. It is listed in the KOAM article and in the article below.

I know there are a few others on here that are from Missouri so I thought I would let you know there is going to be a benefit for the Horton family on September 8th. Details are at the link below.

Thank you for pointing out their presence. If you hadn't I probably wouldn't have posted about BACA. I wasn't sure if many people had heard of them or not and they are such a wonderful group. I don't run into too many people who are familiar with them. Good to meet someone who is :)
The bikers are from a group called BACA, Bikers Against Child Abuse. They are an international nonprofit organization with local chapters across the world. They usually go to court with and help protect children who are victims of abuse. Although they could not help protect this precious...
"Bourne* led investigators to a wooded area southeast of Golden City where he said Horton's body would be located....
... *The statement actually says Horton, however we believe this was a typographical error"
You would think LE would correct the report before releasing it to the public...
Prosecutor is saying more charges to come, but not when. Good to know that the Missouri Attorney General will be helping in the prosecution.

I guess the media is reporting it as southeast of town now. Looking on the map it looks like the creek is labeled North Fork Spring River. It would be south off of 79th Road. You have to really zoom in to see the little farm road that leads south off of 79th Road that goes to the creek. It...
From what I am hearing this is not where she was found. There was a lot of media attention there at the time she was found because there was a civilian search party in this area. I think this is why it may have been reported that way. Searchers in this area were told the search was called off...
This is high profile for Golden City and Barton county. I think they will be very careful how they handle this prosecution. Golden City does not have its own police force. Barton County Sheriff's department serves as the only LE the town has so I think they will do everything in their power to...
When he was arrested in town, she was not with him i.e he had already left town and came back without her. The town is very small and was searched for her and his vehicle during the time he was gone. He was not in town until approximately 1 1/2 hours later. I wish I could give you more...
If he took her west and he stayed on 160 highway, he would go through Golden City on his way back to Lockwood. 160 highway runs from Lamar (northwest of town) on the outside of the main part of town going to Lockwood (east of town.) Lockwood is 8 miles east of Golden City. However, there are...
What really gets me and what others find strange is that he came back to town 1 1/2 hours after he abducted her. There were plenty of witnesses. I would think he would know that he would get caught.
I have a good signal most of the time. I will say that it is not perfect though. There are a few areas at the bottom of hills where signals are always lost. I think a lot of it depends on the cell phone carrier and type of phone.
Barton County Sheriff's Department has a website where they post all mugshots every month. They usually post the name, date, and charge alongside the mugshot. August does have some pictures, but no other info yet. I'm not sure how often they update the site. The website is...
There are two highways leading out of Golden City. Highway 126 goes west out to 71 highway and 160 highway goes northwest to Lamar and east to Lockwood where he lived. It would be hard to know which highway he was talking about or which direction he went.
