One thing that surprises and maybe angers me too, is that no one has come forward and said something about KA's and SD's relationship. Fights, good relationship, volatile, friendly... anything? I haven't heard any "it couldn't be him because..." but nor have I heard any "we should have known"...

I totally get what you're saying, but I wouldn't say "no excuse". There is almost always a possible reason. Maybe a father of one of the kids threatened to take them away or kill them or whatever, and maybe it was said in person (no written evidence). NOT saying that is what happened here, but...

This case just kind of horrifies me. It's not the showy/bloody/shocking type of thing like other cases, but it's the fact that a girl just at the start of adulthood can go missing for an entire year under pretty suspicious circumstances and so little is done to find her or get justice for her...

I went on a spree of reading old cases yesterday, and I came across Amy Sue Pagnac. This has so many shades of that case IMO.

so weird no one ever said anything else about this case. It's so bizarre. Last I read they didn't match anyone in the system, but it seems strange they never really followed up on this.

also, hypothetically, if whatever happened is the "most likely" scenario at this point, why haven't relatives like the mom or sister come out and said something?! It seems like this wouldn't be the first and only violent episode or weird thing or whatever.
