This is so weird. This is the same exact pic of her in a bathtub but someone photoshopped a black tshirt onto her and darkened her face and hair. But the rubber ducky is still right behind her. Same EXACT pic as the OP.

I don't post often, I usually just read and go to the links provided, but isn't this suppose to be a victim friendly site? Why is everyone so quick to start pointing fingers at the dad? The focus should be on what the witnesses saw and finding this beautiful little girl?

Police issued an AMBER Alert and said they were looking for a woman who was seen walking with a baby that fit Daphne's description. However, later on Wednesday investigators began questioning if the father actually took the baby to the store or if anyone had seen them together on Wednesday?

This article brings up so many questions...(obviously)

I wonder when the mother last saw the child? (Could she possibly be incarcerated... And thus no name released... And no statements of when she last saw her child?... Note: this is just a thought.. I am not sleuthing her here...)

I am very curious how Daphne lost part of her left ear...
Injury... Missing since birth?

I am concerned that there doesn't seem to be anyone, as yet, who has seen this darling child in weeks or months..

I also noticed the disabled parking plate on the back. Doesn't necessarily mean they used the disabled parking spot, but if they did that's RIGHT up front usually. Even bolder, IMO.

It's been stated in an MSM article that "there's something about the story that police don't seem to believe." I'm going to go look for a link, but I'm pretty sure they taped off dad's house as well, didnt they?

I believe that gives us some leway. Mods?

Eta--I just alerted a mod to this post so maybe they can inform us-this case doesn't look so cut and dried to me

I'm sure we're all hoping that the police will find the woman and this darling little child safe but we've seen this scenario before and when the police say things like this it seems to indicate that they think the person is lying about the abduction and it rarely seems to end well:

Yes, it is in this link where it is stated the FBI has roped off dad's apartment and are trying to gather information as to whether or not the child ever made it to the store with dad and his mother. Sadly, I just don't see this ending well. Hope I'm wrong.

OAKLAND -- A 21-month-old girl kidnapped from a family car outside an East Oakland corner store remained missing Thursday morning and police said they plan to resume the search at an Oakland shoreline park in hopes of finding the toddler.

I then wonder...why there may not be OTHER photos of this child that could be used...

Parents usually take a gazillion pix of their children at that fun age!

Regarding question B, I don't think it's necessarily anything scary. He had moved around Christmas so a former neighbor not seeing him for months wouldn't be strange.

If the demented mother is sick enough not to notice a kidnapping she may require constant care so maybe dad was home with both of them? If she was in daycare you'd think they'd have some definite sightings at some point.

I don't think its a stretch at all. I think this is a very likely scenario. The problem is the witness who claims to have seen the woman with the baby. Could he have cruised around waiting until he saw a woman/baby that resembled his daughter and then chose that moment to invent the kidnapping story?

I was wondering that same scenario, as well...

I don't like the sound of that. About the area: International Blvd. is notorious for prostitutes. Also gang activity. Though a lot of low-income neighborhoods in Oakland are 'food deserts', with almost nothing but liquor stores, this part of East Oakland has a lot of wonderful Latino and Asian markets. There are great people who look out for their neighbors, but SO much crime. I would definitely think that anyone with a store around there would have cameras.

A worry of mine is that we won't hear much more about this case unless something significant is uncovered or someone from the family comes here or speaks out on Facebook, etc. We never hear ANYTHING about Hasanni Campbell anymore, and he was supposedly kidnapped from a really lovely shopping/restaurant area - a place I wouldn't hesitate bringing anyone! I don't even like driving down International.
