What happened to this baby's ear? I've only seen that kind of deformity in grown men before, where their ear has been bitten off in a fight.

I'm not sure what part of her ear is missing, but I have seen babies with pierced ears who got the earring stuck on a blanket and ripped the ear lobe. Ear lobe then became infected and had to be removed. Not saying this happened in Daphne's case, but in hind sight I'd never pierce a babies ears!

Oh no. I had myself convinced (fooled perhaps?) that she was with a loving parent who panicked and took off with her. I already felt bad about her fate but I feel even worse about it today. Of course I hope I'm wrong.

hopefully little daphne will still be found and her love ones given some kind of closure.
