Pulling a shirt is NOT laying hands on someone. George was trying to push little dude - it took a man mucdh larger than George to restrain George as he kept trying to go back and "get: little dude.

Yes, it really is. No one can put their hands on you in any manner without your permission. I remember a NY case where a man took hold of a young teenager's arm because a bus was coming by fast and they arrested him for assault because he had no permission to touch her. I thought that was so stupid in that case.

These people really do need to think about the chances they are taking. Didn't some come up and rap on his front door and then the things that they were throwing at the window they could have thought were shots being fired.

Florida has enacted a rather new law.

Excerpt:
Florida Statute 776.013 states that a person defending their home or occupied vehicle from an "unlawful" forceful entry or attempted forceful entry by another may use deadly force to stop the invasion or attempted invasion of the property. In such instances they need not retreat before using deadly force, they need not warn the intruder of their intent to shoot, and there is an absolute presumption that the person attempting the entry was doing so with the intent to commit a violent act (i.e. "forcible felony"), and that the defender is presumed to be acting in reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm to himself or herself. In other words – no arrest or prosecution is technically "legal" if someone without a right of entry or ownership is trying to break in, and you shoot them. In theory – the police and prosecution cannot try to show your fear was unreasonable, or that the intent of the assailant was not to do you or a family member severe injury. Of course, there are some limitations to this statute. The statute states that in order to take advantage of its protections you can’t be engaged in unlawful activity when the incident occurs, the defender must be aware that someone has broken into the house or occupied vehicle, or is attempting to do so, and the person entering the home or occupied vehicle does not have a right or invitation to do so. Anyone legally in the home or occupied vehicle may protect it.

I personally dislike the entire Anthony clan but someone is going to get hurt and no matter if we like it or not like the policeman said the Anthonys have a right to protect themselves.

These are the Jerry Springers of the nighttime, imo. They just like to bluster when they know the media is there or the webcam is going to see them.

imo

To me it looked like the Protesters were on Public property (the side walk in front of the driveway)

George & Cindy approached them in a threatening manner & Cindy had a baseball bat in her hand.

In my opinion when George Anthony raised his hand & stuck his finger in that mans face that person had the right to defend himself & if he did "strike" George in anyway it was justified

You could say then it is really just one sided reporting like trying to make the A's seem like the only bad guys.
When in fact no one is always right and no one is ever always all wrong.
:boohoo:
NO... No one has to try to make the Anthony's look bad... They do the job all by themselves...

So when the protesters stick their fingers in Cindy's face she also would have the right to defend herself?

Those protesters must have really long arms to be able to beat on the garage door while standing on the sidewalk.

Stupidity is not illegal. Vandalizing someone's house is, as is disturbing the peace. I just can't see how anyone could side against the Anthony's in this incident. :waitasec:
Let's say the Anthony's had taken the advice of the dispatcher and remained inside.

The only confrontation there could have been in that situation would have been between the penny-tossers and the police.

The problem people are having with George and Cindy is their insistence on inserting themselves into every act of bad behavior that occurs, and their son is no slouch, either.

What would happen if they followed what their parents taught them about "sticks and stones" and simply ignored these people?

The reason the rabblerousers (as opposed to the peaceful protesters) keep showing up at the Anthony home is because they know it's guaranteed to get a rise out of them, and everybody - including George and Cindy - gets TV face time.

This is all I have to say about the "rioters" because really now this is what this is becoming. It won't be long before something bad happens. Either Geroge loses it or one of the protestors does something criminal

That was no girl....that was a punk chick with no brains.

And grabbing his shirt was the same as GA and the old lady and the sign.

Well yes it could be the same thing except the "girl" was maybe 20 the elderly lady was more like 70. Obviously no repect in that household.

I didn't see anyone beating on any door in the video I watched.

Not saying that they didn't but even if they did what right would George have too walk out of his house onto public property & approach a person in a threatening manner?

Listen to the fake 911 calls. Read the police report. No one threw money at the garage door. Allegedly they were throwing things at the windows, but there was no damage to the windows according to the police report. They also did not report any dent in the door, which, in my experience would not have a dent in it from someone pounding on it. The police found no rocks whatsoever. They found 23 cents.

okay. and the same LE is investigating caylee's diappearance, and yet...well, i doubt i have to finish the rest.

agree to disagree, i suppose.:)

And Yes

if a protester approached George in a threatening manner he would have the right to defend himself but I didn't see that in the video I watched

Obviously the Anthonys are familiar with fighting and confrontations, judging from the police reports it was the norm to have to have the fights broken up and this has been the case for years in that house.

That reminds me of the Texas case. The police told him several times to stay in his house when he saw his neighbors house being robbed. He paid no mine and as the two unarmed burglars were running away with their backs toward him he killed them both.

It was ruled justifiable homicide due to the Castle law and Florida also has such law that a person can protect themselves and property.

Thank you very much :)

Do you know if the report from the second call is available online yet?

You're welcome. Not sure about the second call but they might have it soon.

The article at my link has a lot of interesting information too...not just about George and the protesters.

They were in the middle of the driveway, isn't that George's property? It looked to me like the big girl thought she might be able to drag George to the public sidewalk.

It shows him being grabbed by the punk. Based on the opinions here when he had the altercation with the old lady, Assault and battery. Plain and simple.
Look at the raw video - it shows his SHIRT being pulled, not him
