Murder Sheet covers this latest issue

I truly hope he is not being mistreated and I would think he could be closer to his attorneys to help with his defense. This is still America and he is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty which IMHO he most likely is. I think more details need to be known at this time. Don’t throw tomatoes at me.

No, because it’s jail conditions, which aren’t controlled by the prosecution. I’m sure it’s going to wind up being nonsense though.
It's not just jail conditions. Some jails aren't too bad. Murder Sheet said Rossi has another jail willing to take him but Carroll Co. sheriff won't let him go there.

Isn’t this statement worded sort of oddly? I’m really sceptical that it’s a matter of CC not letting him go. It’s as if RA’s defence instructed/ordered/asked CC Sheriff‘s Dept to relocate RA and they declined since they don’t have the authority to “have him moved”.

“The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, on the other hand, declined to have Allen moved out of the Westville facility, his attorneys said.”

I notice a couple of things about the Sun reporter who wrote this story -
1) He is based in LA so it’s doubtful he travelled to Indiana to interview KG.
2) He has never written any other Delphi story that I can find.

So what are the odds the KG pours her heart out for this intimate and personal inside scoop to an unknown reporter she’s not familiar with? How thoroughly does a reporter verify the identity of somebody with a good story, considering the lowly reputation of the Sun is widely known?

JMO
The Sun pays for inside scoops, does it not? Not saying it did here, but it makes one think, IMO

“Court records showed Thursday that Allen asked to be transferred from the custody of the Carroll County, Indiana Sheriff's office to the custody of the Indiana Department of Corrections for safe keeping. The request was granted by Judge Benjamin Diener, court records show.”

Yes, that's bad wording on my part. "Declining to have him moved" and "wouldn't let him go" are different.

Maybe CACO should have just said they didn't have a problem with the move except they didn't have the authority to make it happen?

So Judge Gull will make that decision?

Oh wow! If he continues to lose weight at this rate, he won’t make it to trial. JMHO

I have been concerned about this happening since he was arrested. If he knows he allegedly murdered Abby and Libby, if believes he will allegedly be found guilty at trial and he will be spending every day for the rest of his life in a jail cell like the one he is currently in, then he could feel like giving up on living by not eating or washing.

If he is allegedly responsible for the deaths of the girls then I have zero sympathy for the situation he is in. The suffering he is allegedly experiencing is nothing compared to what Abby and Libby experienced on the day they died and the heartbreaking grief and devastating loss their families have felt for the past six year, which they will continue to feel for the rest of their lives.

He should not be allowed to let himself give up and for his health to decline, so that he doesn’t have to serve the sentence he is given if he is found guilty at trial. I’m surprised he doesn’t have a bed like the bottom of a basic metal prison bunk bed to sleep in with a basic mattress pad. Does anyone know why the prison has allegedly not permitted visitation for his family members to visit? Is it possibly due to security concerns because he is a high profile prisoner?

I saw online that there is currently a vacancy for a Psychologist at the prison he is in. He should have access to a Psychologist and if necessary antidepressants. It would not be surprising if a prisoner like him was suffering from depression and they felt the future looked bleak. It will be apparent to him that if he is found guilty he could potentially be put on death row and spend every day for the rest of his life in a prison cell like the one he is currently in, which he feels is grim.

He is 50 years old and I hope he lives a long life so he can serve as much of his sentence as possible if he is found guilty at trial. It will be interesting to see what happens in court with this emergency motion. Thank you to all of you for your posts and news updates.

Let’s not forget that it has been noted that he had some alcoholic abuse in his past. Police were called to the home due to his excessive drinking and neighbors reported he drank in the driveway for hours at night for years Weight loss could be occurring due to lack of inflammation due to abstaining from alcohol. Also I wouldn’t be surprised if the he was drinking as an unhealthy coping mechanism due to the duplicity of his persona and stress of hiding a horrible secret I believe he may have had many other unhealthy coping mechanisms. There could have always been underlying mental health issues that have surfaced in recent years. In my opinion he is out of options and unraveling.

I’m unclear on if he hasn’t been permitted to see his family, or if they have not chosen to visit him.

Hi Everyone,
(PLEASE DO NOT DISCUSS DONATIONS ON THIS THREAD. CLICK HERE FOR DISCUSSION)
Websleuths is very expensive to run. Most months we make enough to pay for the server, pay the IT guy, and a bit of money left over for me for some bills or food. This way I can keep Websleuths free for everyone.
There are months when this is not the case.
I recently pre-paid the server fee and almost all I owed our IT guy. I knew the money coming in for the month from advertising would not cover the bills but I thought I had another revenue stream coming in so I wasn't worried. That revenue stream didn't happen.

Basically, I need donations to cover the server and what I owe the IT and a bit extra for my groceries.

I have provided Websleuths free for almost 20 years (since 2004) and will do my best to keep Websleuths free for members and visitors.

This month we need 2700 dollars to keep Websleuths running. I don't know what next month's ad dollars will be. Hopefully, you won't be hearing from me.

Let me stress if you cannot afford a donation please do not send anything. I understand times are hard.

When we reach our goal I will announce it and stop accepting donations. It is urgent however that we raise the money as fast as possible.

Please use PayPal Pay Websleuths.com, LLC using PayPal.Me

It's not just jail conditions. Some jails aren't too bad. Murder Sheet said Rossi has another jail willing to take him but Carroll Co. sheriff won't let him go there.

I feel certain the judge has the final say here. Carroll County may not want him moved or they may not believe or actually know that his attorneys are grossly exaggerating things. They may believe they can keep him safer where he is.
Either way, they are expressing their opinion in it, nothing more. The judge gets the last say.
I’d also like to point out that the defense attorney’s in the Murdaugh trial filed many motions with exaggerated claims about evidence etc, playing to the emotions of the public and potential jurors.
Frankly I don’t believe any of it but I also don’t care if they move him.

Up until now, it has not been made public where RA was being housed. That was for security reasons, in my understanding. I wonder if the fact that both his current and potential new location are now public knowledge, if that will have any bearing on the judges decision. Was the public supposed to see this document?

Fox59 reporter Angela Ganote has more info on her verified Facebook page:

"Allen's attorneys state in part, that Allen being held in the Westville Correctional Facility where those convicted of the most heinous crimes are held not those presumed innocent. Allen's attorneys say they were denied a request to inspect his living conditions but they believe they are the following as quoted in the motion:

6 X 10 cell no larger than a dog kennel.
Sleeping pad on a concrete floor.
Shower 2 times a week
Required to wear same clothes, underwear, all of which are soiled and tattered.
No visit of his wife or family in the past 5 months.
Subjected to conditions akin to a prisoner of war.
1000 pages of police reports delivered to Allen on March 24 have still not been given to him.
Attorneys state he is being treated less favorably than a convicted person.
Appears to be suffering from psychotic symptoms described as schizophrenic and delusional.
Attorneys are asking he be transferred to a traditional bed space in the Cass County Jail near his office.
They are asking for an emergency hearing."

I will edit to add the link.

This is the jail/prison conditions many inmates face. It isn't something new, how many inmates have we heard complain about their 'living conditions' before? Too many to name.

As far as psychotic or delusional, it could be his withdrawal from alcohol (which should have been physically over by now, maybe not mentally) or it could be him laying the grounds for an insanity plea.

Or maybe the thoughts of Abby and Libby are visiting him now that he has nothing to occupy his time and hands.

Plus, I thought there was a gag order in place, why are we even seeing the information???

MOO

If we only had the motion document here, some of the questions might be answered. We can't always count on MSM to provide us with a clear, accurate picture.

If they have him in isolation "to protect him", then I believe the conditions are what the defense attys claim.

Looks like the Judge granted his motion.

edited to add - but another sentence after this - Judge just moved the motion to be heard by IN Supreme Court.

Judge Denier also issued an order Thursday for the Indiana Supreme Court to appoint a special judge outside of Carroll County to hear the case.

If he committed this heinous crime (and it appears LE feels very strongly he did), I have no sympathy for him. He can stay where he is. But, I’d still give him a bed.

The way lawyers stretch the truth it could be that RA threw up all on the bed and bedframe and they had to put a fresh mattress on the floor for one night till they could clean the bedframe up properly.

Lawyers tell half truths constantly.
