Just coming into this case and must congratulate you for all the good work that has been discovered in the past two days! Way to go to very dedicated WS.

After reading all evening, has the artist's friend that was mentioned in the memorial write-up been contacted? In one of the posts, someone was mentioning this and this man had helped or started out with Jim. If you could find this man, I bet he could help in where the shirts were manufactured and maybe where they were sold. Jim's wife may be able to give you contact information for this man too. Just a thought.

Lake Tahoe and Sand Canyon are a couple of hours away. The body was found closer to the California/Nevada border near Yosemite than Tahoe.

ETA: I clicked on your link. Two different Sand Canyons in two different states. I just looked it up, they're about 7 hours apart. The one in CA is more towards southern CA. The NV one is near northern CA.

Or it could be our victim, but not NG being the killer, since Clifford has an association with the blanket too. The fact they knew each other and Clifford is missing makes it darn likely Clifford is an NG victim, but the odds are our victim isn't Clifford since he died 7 years prior to the body being found. I don't think forensics misestimate time of death that badly. It's definitely worth checking the DNA though. Poor Clifford could have the misfortune of evading death by a serial killer and being killed by someone else. Now that I typed this post, I realize Clifford isn't our victim.

Unfortunately McCarthy is only 5'5 and Gammelgard is only 5'9

We have included some 5'10 individuals but some of those have already been ruled out due to height.

Hair color can change but height really cannot (at least not that much). We have blonde, strawberry blonde, auburn, red. There are a couple of black haired and gray haired individuals on the list but those are very few.
We have included everyone from 20ish to 65ish so age seems to be the most inclusive category out of the 3 - that we have posted here.

Gammelgard was last seen October 10, 1992 09:53, so he'd be out (as the remains were discovered March 1992).

I'll doublecheck the other guy to see if he's in the Charley Project.

Clifford's body was never found. I wonder if it's possible that he managed to escape but in 91 met his fate anyway? Well, about the coincidences, the dog found was not a German Shepherd, The cabin was in Wilseyville, not Tahoe so the hat is not connected.

ETA: I have not been able to find a relationship between the man named in the obituary that a Phil Mark had commented on - and Charles Ng.

OK, so the plan for now, if you all are on board, is to continue looking for similar missing persons to add to our alpha list. As the list grows, it shrinks as well with rule outs. I'll post the smaller list hopefully soon so you all can digest it. Keep up the good work.

Also, it's a rule out based on blood and evidence of foul play at the of their disappearance. I only considered the extremely early ones that didn't have any indication of foul play.

It sounds as if you guys have been very busy working on the list and multiple new leads on the tee shirt, manufacturer, artist, etc. I am excited to see how many Rule Outs you have gone through and it appears we have set up a process that you have been able to work with.

I am so excited for the work that is being done and I just feel we are really getting close to helping you solve the mystery of this person's identity. Hang in there guys - your cold case is nearly resolved (at least identifying the UID).
