I am glad this guy is in custody and hope he stays there for the rest of is life. Personally unless he has something to say about what he did with Natalee's body, I am no longer interested in anything about him, except hearing that he has been convicted of this second crime, at least.

I wonder when the tox results will come back from Stephany?

She was stoned she fell and hit her head.

Geez I wish with all my heart this had never happened.

Eeeeekkkk -- don't give him a defense ;) Of course it would be hard to splain away the bumps and bruises to the rest of the body (if in fact they do exist).

Best,

Mel

No way could her injuries be the result of falling and hitting her head, according to this:

"Mark Fuhrman is a Fox news contributor and he made a trip to Peru to get the facts about the murder of Stephany Flores Martinez for Greta van Susteren’s “On the Record” TV show.
It turns out that the cause of death for Stephany was a brain hemorrhage caused by a blow to the back of the head. Stephany struck her head on the bed frame, but it was more than just a fall onto the bed frame. Fuhrman said that her head “was driven into the bed frame.”

"If this new information is correct, Stephany was probably pushed by Joran and she hit her head on the bed frame. Joran fled the scene instead of calling for a doctor to save her."

So now we have blunt force trauma to the head -- which is why we don't see blood all over the room. Can he use the same defense as Gary Coleman's wife (though she's not being accused). That he fell, hit his head, and died (after she pulled the plug). I wish we had all the facts here.

MOO

Hi Cat thief, I'm just coming in here but thought I read earlier today that they found her blood on Joran's shirt.

Do we know if that is confirmed or bogus? Thanks I know I gave out a big WOW when I read that.

According to the Peruvian Interior Ministry spokesperson, bloody clothes were found on Joran and are being tested for DNA along with the tennis racquet that was found in the room. I don't know why the governments spokesperson would say that if it weren't in fact true.

Not sure if this is the link Panthera was talking about, but it's one that I have saved / marked and references "back door". Considering the translations by google, not sure the "verb tense" re: went back to door or went to back door, is correct.

"I went knocking on the door of Room 309, insisted several times and did not respond, in that act I heard the radio or the TV was turned on at high volume because they listened to outside the room," he said.

"I thought that Mr. Joran was resting and I left ... back, I opened the back door with the key, walked three meters and found that the room light was turned on, just as the regular TV volume. There a pair of canvas sneakers, was completely unmade bed, they had clothes on the floor, "explained the woman.

(sorry Panthera if this is not what you were talking about)
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! My tired eyes have been looking all over for it! :)

Not sure if this was posted earlier, but I only became aware of it.

In the Netherlands on Friday, prosecutors acting on a U.S. request raided two homes seeking evidence in the case, seizing computers, cellphones and data-storage devices.

Hi Patty,

I guess they better secure the extortion evidence just in case! I'm sure there's e-mails and evidence of wire transfers out there. Thanks for the update.

Thanks for pulling that quote forward. This makes much more sense than the racket, the bat, and the rest of the rumours that were flying.

Joran will say, maybe, "she was stoned, tripped and fell". imo

Joseph Tacopina proposes the theory that a third man may have been hiding in VDS room, according to an interview with ElComercio.pe. Interview at link

Lots of holes in that theory. If an assailant hid in the room until they came in, we would have seen VDS running out of the room to get help. If an assailant hid in the room until after VDS left at 8:45 the next morning, he would have needed a very good hiding place as well as being an expert at not making noise or moving for hours on end in a very small hotel room.

Is Tacopina just trying to get free publicity?

Tacopina is lewdicrous, IMO. The video footage of all the comings and goings into room 309 is all the evidence they need to get the right conviction in this case. Couple that with the reported bloody footprints and blood found on clothing of Joran's, and it pretty much sounds like a slam dunk.

That would have to be Zanny. (sorry)

The link listed above was shown as unsafe by Norton! I don't know if this has been posted yet but wanted to get info before more clicked on it. I am now running system scan.

Oh crap - I'm sorry!! But I'm confused. There wasn't a clickable link in my original post. ???

How much guiltier does the guy have to be. He paid somebody 650.00 to drive him across country when he had plane ticket.
Surely he wasn't site seeing.

"How do you know that inside the room there was no third person waiting for them?" Asked the renowned lawyer Joseph Tacopina to question one of the strongest proofs that involve the citizen Dutchman Joran van der Sloot in the murder of the young Stephany Flores took place on Sunday 30 May.

Peruvian posts:
(fortunately) there are cameras 24/7 - no other person was seen visiting or leaving that room.
***
Joran if convicted, could actually only serve 5 years for murder (even though sentenced for 25-35 years)

Thanks for looking though, Panth, I think the "back" door comment is in fact a mis-translation. But it was worthy of clarification.

I agree it seems preposterous after seeing photos of the hotel room. It didn't seem large enough for anyone to be hiding in there and the video camera certainly would've captured anyone else going into the room after he left.

Have a good night everyone ~ see you all here tomorrow evening, and hopefully with some more information! :seeya:

I'm not sure, but I don't think the tennis racket can be eliminated as playing a part in this case. Time will tell.

What is it with Joe T???? Lately it seems he opens his mouth, and his brains fall out....

I think it is too since I'm not seeing anything else to indicate a second door to the room. :seeya:
