That is interesting. I thought Deanna testified that the only way to communicate when away on a mission was letter writing. I wonder if the Bishop is confused about how people corresponded 13 years ago vs today. Maybe today, they can email or write letters. Does anybody know?

It is so not clear the way he words this but I always got the impression that he wouldn't allow NON RELATIVES of the opposite sex to live at his house- at the same time. In other words it didn't matter the gender of his children- it was the gender of people he allowed to stay with them. In other words he wouldn't allow a female and male to stay with them at the same time- nothing to do with his children whom he had control and say over. I hope I'm making sense.

Agree. He doesn't think of them that way because he is referring to males and females temporarily staying in his home. These are his children and this is their home.
