GrainneDhu, I had a question about a post you made on another thread, but it was locked up. Hope you see it here.

Since joining here, I've found out more about what affects the rate of human decomposition than I ever really wanted to know. One thing I do remember is that the bodies of small children decompose much faster than adults. Is the time frame you quote for both children and adults, with that for children falling closer to the 2 hour mark? Or is that for adults only, meaning that a child would develop the scent sooner?

The time frame I gave was what I was taught that includes small children at the two hour mark and large adults at the four hour mark. Not adjusted for any other factors, though.

There are many other factors that can affect the speed, most prominent of which is environmental temperature. Warmth speeds up the development of cadaver scent and cold slows it down.

Gruesome information warning:

Another prominent factor is whether the body has any open wounds. Large open wounds in a warm environment speed up decomposition a lot.

That NW Morgan Rd has tons of woods. I feel nauseous. :(

Yes I can understand...
the reason I was out there was that we went out past Scapoose, up into the woods to go shooting guns..(sighting them in) and yes, even Cornelius Pass Road, and even Sheltered Nook Road are very wooded areas (just more private property on those roads)...

It's kinda strange 'Chas' was on his way to "work" that morning but can't recall exactly when it was other then sometime within 45 mins..I wonder what kind of job he has?

IF you didn't want to be seen would you drive a main road (hide in plain in sight) or chose a back road with way less traffic? Chances are you'd been noticed more easily with fewer cars but from the video it looks to me like paying attention to that particular road would be the driver's top priority anyway.

If baby K was in the car there's no way I believe TH would wander too far away from it & I didn't notice any place to even pull over but that's not to say there's not..Also, if she did pull over on any stretch of that road it would def make her noticeable & someone may actually stop to help her thinking her car broke down..All of this makes me think it would be a dumb idea but in no way do I rule it out.

I misssed the info re: pings/cell towers so is it possible all the roads LE listed can maybe use this same tower? IOW! She was not on SI but on Logie instead?

There ARE people, even local people, that are not into this case 24/7 like we are so I really believe its possible someone vaguely knew about the case and suddenly their memory was jogged...

SBM

I suddenly remembered that until the first press conference that the family attended, I did not know that TMH had long red hair.

I've been following the case pretty closely but I never go on Facebook any more because I object to their corporate practises. I did read the msm articles about the case closely. As I recall, the only pictures in those early articles were of Kyron and Kyron only.

So it seems very plausible to me that this witness may not have realised that TMH has distinctive long, flowing, flame red hair.

BBM. Are you talking about Morgan Rd? I see several secluded places right by woods to pull over. Can even pull pretty far back. It's really making me nauseous.

SBM, Landscaper?

Oh snap! If this tip can be verified, I bet Terri will start talking.
IF TH is responsible for whatever happened to Kyron, she will take it to the end of the hallway. she will never tell the truth about it, nomatter who says they saw her truck that day or where they say they saw it. jmo, imo, mho and all that jazz ;)

I agree GhrainneDhu. How many days was it from June 4 til that first presser with Kyrons family? I think this sighting dawned on 'Chas' after seeing the questionnaire that was sent out. That's how I understood it anyway, FWIW.

Give this tipster a polygraph, and do some pings of HIS cellphone to make sure that he was in the area.

Also explain to him that if they find out he is lying, they are going to send him the bill for any searches that result from his "tip"

Then ask him one final time if he actually saw a white truck that morning.

I'm sure LE already knows.

I used to always assume things like this too, Soldier. But one thing that I have heard repeatedly by LE in various cases, since I began to follow them, is not to assume that LE knows things. It is human nature to assume that if you know, then LE knows, but it is not always necessarily the case.

But the point raised regarding LE possibly receiving the tip (is there an annonymous online tip website for this case?), but just not following back up to the tipster, is a good one. I am not sure if LE has the resources to follow up each tip, which is not to say that they don't have it.

It could be that they didn't follow up on his tip because her cell phone pings, bank records, etc. show that she was somewhere else during this time period. It could be that it was a duplicate tip as the Sheriff's spokeswoman said. It could be they searched this area and didn't find anything. Anything is possible. That said, many weeks ago before the news released any info re the focus on Terri or her cell phone pings, a WSleuther with an inside source informed me that Terri's cell phone pings did not match up to her story and that she was near a lake when she told LE she was running errands. I notice Rainbow Lake nearby so possible this is a significant tip.

That is so bizarre. I got an eerie feeling reading that.

Maybe TH ran across that site while "working on her lap top" (as her husband put it...as if she does any "work" on her laptop, shes playing games, IMO.)
So maybe that area where rolled up rugs can be dispensed of caught her eye....

Sounds like she was quite the laptop addict, FB, games, etc. In fact she was said to have been playing some game just prior to leaving to take Kyron to the science fair that day. Really? Have you ever gotten a 7 yr old and a 19 mo old ready to go someplace in the morning? IMO its mass pandemonium. How could anyone have time to sit down and play a computer game? She must have been supermom to get the kids up, fed, dressed, ready to go and still have time to sit and play a computer game prior to leaving. JMO. Then shes back at the laptop posting Kyrons science fair pics around 1pm. Then shes still on laptop when Kaine comes home from work early Friday afternoon. Not dissing someone being on computer all day (like I am) but I don't have kids to care for. Kinda tells me what HER priorities were on a day to day basis. JMO.

my whole problem with this scenario is it is huge info.......and LE has apperentely disregarded it?

i wonder if chas has a history of stuff like this.

This will seem OT at first but I am posting it to make a point, for those who are skeptical, etc...

There's a really good movie which is based on a true story that was made a long while back about a kid who went missing from his bus stop and an old car was seen by other kids waiting at the bus stop. It was in a big city. The kid was missing for a long long time and the cop had lots of peeps calling in tips, none of which panned out. One woman called from another (neighboring) state regularly saying the kid was "next door to her, she sees him out in the yard sometimes," then she would say "why just yesterday I saw him, I was having tea with Jesus...".she was continually dismissed as a crackpot and her many call ins were ignored and never checked out. After a year the detective working on the case decided one day when he had his own young son in the car on a Saturday to "take a little trip" and he drove out to where this "crackpot" woman said she lived. (I think the case was in NYC and he drove to New Jersey, IIRC) He had little hope but thought he would just "check it out". He gets to the woman's house, ...lo and behold parked next door is a car that matches the description of the one that supposedly was around the bus stop. He tells his son to wait in the car, goes and talks to the "crackpot woman" first, she is a nut but has moments of lucidity,(says "its about time, I TOLD you he was next door..._) The cop ends up going next door and knocking on the door and lo and behold, the missing boy answers the door.Looking different, haircut is different, etc. He asks the kid if his name is so and so, (the kidnappers had changed his name, called him something else) and about that time a kinda crippled woman shows up behind the kid at the door, the cop reaches in and takes the boy by the arm and kind of pulls him out onto the porch with him....the crippled woman had her halfway retarded son steal the little boy as someone to help her out around the house...the cop calls the local cops, puts the kid in his car with his own boy, got a police escort from where he was to the stet line, lights flashing, its very dramatic, and then he was met at state line of the state this boy lives in by a police escort from that state, by this time you are bawling your eyes out, I don't care who you are!!!

Cut to a scene of the mom, its been over a year since her son went missing, she has refused to give up hope but totally does not expect this. She has left her apartment to go to the store, walking (as like I said she lived in a big city, perhaps NYC, don';t remember... )has their dog (her little boys dog) with her, ties the dog up outside a store and goes in, comes out w/ a bag of groceries, has dog on leash, walking back to her apartment. The sound of many sirens are heard, first far away then getting closer. Coming closer, the dog gets a little nuts and breaks free from her grasp on the leash, dog starts running toward the line of cops cars coming towards them, sirens going....cop cars are flying down the street towards her now w/ the cop in his car with the 2 boys in his car as the lead car, he stops, the mom drops her grocery bag in the street, an incredulous look on her face... and suddenly her son gets out of the car, dog running wildly to him, the mother runs to him, they fall into each others arms....am sure some of it was changed for dramatic effect but I tell you everytime I see that movie I get chills and bawl my eyes out. I believe its called "Still Missing". Its a movie that will teach you to not give up hope, that miracles can happen, that even crackpot calls should be checked out. If you have never seen it and ever get a chance, I highly recommend it. Everyone who posts here would love it as its a story "right up our alley" and based on a true story. I think Brian Dennehey is the cop who won't let the case go. I was thinking of this movie when I got up this morning and read about this new lead. Don't give up hope. This could be the one off-the-wall lead that's the answer.
If its not, I suspect a big depressive let down. But I am still keeping the hope alive. Not saying I expect Kyron to be found alive, but hoping he is found anyway.

Without a Trace, 1983, Kate Nelligan and Judd Hirsch. I remember it well. The little boy's name was Alex, and my Alex was just a few months old when the movie opened. I tear up now just thinking about the ending. (As a new mother that year, I cried a lot of mom-felt tears between this movie and Sophie's Choice.) In fact, Without A Trace sparked my interest in missing children cases, and showed me just how quickly a child can disappear.

I often think back to that movie when following cases and remember that "crackpot" tip that was dismissed. You are sooooo right, Abbie, we can't give up hope. We never know where the answer lies until we find it, and the more unlikely the source, the greater the miracle.

I was doubtful about the sighting in WV the other night, but I have a better feeling about this tip, considering the proximity. Just want to add that I really appreciate the input from the locals on this thread.

I sent the article and link about the "Best of" to the MCSO. maybe nothing but it only took me a minute to send it..

If I wanted my pings to throw off LE IF an investigation could possibly ensue as to my whereabouts during a certain time, I wold drop my phone off somewhere, do my business, and come back later to retreive the phone, and go about my "errands", pinging along the way nowhere near where I had dumped a body. She was supposedly into CSI and stuff like that and doesn't everybody know about pings? Didn't she follow the CA case or am I mistaken about that? That's where I learned a lot about cell phones pinging, that and the Drew Peterson case. Any tool such as a cell phone that could help later to pinpoint your travels could also be used in a backwards kind of way to eliminate areas you were in, simply by putting the phone in one location for awhile and retreiving it later. Just thinking like a sneaky person who was committing a crime might think...JMO

Does anyone know if there is any search activity in this newly reported area?

Agreed, however, I am sure they are or have already checked every transaction she made that day and days leading up to Kyron's disappearance. This isn't a tip, it's her bank transactions, statements that they should be tracing.

If they did this kind of scrutiny on tips, people would not call tips in. I know I wouldn't.
