HLN is reporting it will be Dr. Samuels (sp?) today. I guess we shall see.

Hello everyone :seeya:

It's true this questioning might seem kinda boring to everyone of us who are familiar with the "power and control" wheel. But this is the testimony I tuned in for. I want to see how the DV specialist is handled by both the defense AND the prosecutor.

Frankly I couldnt give a flying flip what the experts say in direct for the defense. I absolutely do not believe that Arias was ever abused by Travis or by anyone else for that matter. And I also do not believe Travis was a sexual deviant. So what they say on direct is a moot point to me.

But I will bear it knowing that Juan is going to shred them to pieces when he gets up to do his cross.

IMO

Michael Kiefer @michaelbkiefer

At the Jodi Arias trial. Today there will be expert testimony on behalf of Arias. Jennifer Willmott will do the questioning.

Yes! No Nurmi...hoooray!!!

It's frightening to me that there's sooooo many of those people! :what:
WTH is up with that???

I think there's just some deranged people in the world who get their kicks by supporting people like JA just to piss other people off.

Arias is in court as is defense witness #9, psychologist Richard Samuels. #JodiArias

Darn it. Wish I had invested in a punching bag before Arias took the stand.

Melanie checking in! :seeya:

Dinner ready (teriyaki chicken skewers) with white rice and egg rolls. Laundry on, beds made, cats fed. I'm even in my jammies since I don't have to go out for the rest of the day.

Let's get ready to rumble :great:

Morning to all my WS'ers.

Mel

Can I come to dinner? Maybe my dear hubby will make me something good since I have Important Business!

They can absolutely turn on her. They accept a fee to interview her and testify to their findings. They make no guarantee as to the content of those findings. Now, as we know, in practice this rarely happens.

One of the talking heads last night said, "Expert witnesses are liars for hire.":twocents:

expert now sitting at the witness stand #jodiarias

I hope that if they make a movie (not a television special) about this trial that don't bring in Peter Jackson. This trial is long enough...Peter Jackson is the only director that can make a trilogy movie out of one book!

Nurmi speaking with #jodiarias, would die to know what he's telling her

I used to get smacked with a wooden spoon when I was young. I didnt grow up to be a killer.

In fact I have been smacked by almost anything in my Moms arm reach if I were being bad. Not that is right or wrong, but my point is being smacked with a wooden spoon, Mr. Nurmi doesnt turn you into a killer.

My Mom loved to tell the stories of having a drawer full of wooden spoons in the kitchen - and they were used for anything OTHER than kitchen stuff. LOL!!

Well, we lived on a creek...and my best friend and I would make mud pies and doorbell ditch our neighbors with our offerings. But my favorite tool to make the mud?

You guessed it - the WOODEN SPOON!

One day my mom went to get what she knew was her dwindling supply, and low and behold...NONE in the drawer!

HEHEHE! Don't tell me I wasn't a smart kid!

Ugh! Hellloooooo. Can't this shiz start on time. I have to go to work at 1125!

Like the guy in the $3600 suit has to work. COME ON! :floorlaugh:

(I will try to club the great seal for you. Maybe the trial will Come On!)

I was a federal health nurse working for CDC and specializing in STD. I was sent to Northern AZ and lived in a small town of Snowflake. I think I was the only one to admit to not being Mormon. No disrespect to the Mormon- but I was kept very busy treating this group-from teenagers to the bishops. Every story that was told in this trial- I heard before and more. I heard the strangest stories from the high ups and bishops, how they would contract a STD-from falling off horses to the old stand by "the toilet seat". This community was no different than any other. I thought I was either going to be shot or treated very well due to the secrets I knew. I was treated well and really I just found a bunch of people that were messed up about sex. At least all the men knew the secrets and the women didn't seem liked they cared. I was a fun 4 years. I came from a strict southern Baptist background-quite an experience.

So glad you are here Dixie! Thank you for posting your own experience! This very much falls in line with what I know and experienced from being a practicing Mormon for a few years in my life. BBM (bolded by me) - are you talking about knowing or not caring about the secrets or sex within the church?

I've been the DV expert in four cases. I requested reimbursement of expenses only.
I think you misunderstood. Thats just 'my two cents', is all.
I made no mention about monies exchanged at all.

I didn't realize that Nurmi gets $1500 each day of trial...$1250 if he doesn't get paid lunch hour. Also, using a 6 hr day...$250/hr....AND, can't even compute if he doesn't get paid for side bars.....

Yeah, but he has to deal with Jodi Arias as a client. Not sure it's worth it.
:giggle:

Interesting. I am sure you learned a lot about different parts of the country that you wouldn't otherwise get to experience working for the Federal Government.
