Here's an interesting article I found.
A Flight to Remember

The scariest part for 12-year-old Maya Bodinson came when her flight from London was midway across the Atlantic Ocean.
"That was when the bombs were supposed to go off, if there were any," said Maya, who flew with her father, Ron, on the first plane from Heathrow to Kennedy International Airport after British authorities thwarted a terrorist plot targeting multiple airplanes.
Her American Airlines flight, filled with similarly nervous passengers, made it home without any problems. But word of the scheme caused massive problems for travelers on the ground at New York airports, where the war on terrorism targeted carryon luggage in a return to the intense airport scrutiny that followed the 9/11 attacks.
