Thanks for pointing those quotes out, I'd not seen them.
That being said, there are lots of learning disabilities to be had, many of which don't involve IQ at all (such as dyslexia). I personally feel he doesn't have an extreme low IQ disability, as I've not seen or heard of someone that, as such, was able to obtain a driver's license. Also, didn't I read he was recently promoted to a position where he prepped OR suites at the hospital? These are extremely sterile environments with million dollar equipment in them. I don't see a hospital hiring a 'Lennie' (of Mice and Men) for this type of work for safety and liability reasons, his and theirs.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's in Mensa. I just don't believe he's 'Lennie'. But I think he might pull 'Lennie' when he's in trouble.
