Hi UkGuy, I'm afraid I don't know enough about the blood stained pillow to give any further thoughts. With regard to the Stines, they are just yet another factor (and there are so many in this case) that seems strange and makes you go hmmm, but with no evidence of anything more than that, one way or another. So many things in this case seem strange coincidences or unexplained, and who knows if they are connected, or, as Heymom says, are mere red herrings?
I agree that the Stines do seem connected to the Ramseys in some way that, in my own opinion, seems to go above and beyond friendship alone- answering the door to the police at the Ramseys home (why didn't JR or PR answer their own front door themselves?), sending emails to impersonate LE, and moving states to follow the Ramseys. However, while these things seem odd enough to raise eyebrows, that's all we can say right now. If there is anything more that the police somehow missed, maybe someone will talk eventually or something will come to light, in time. If not, then time will also bear that out in future, too. I always like to hope that the truth will out eventually, one way or the other!
I've only ever seen one interview with SS, and I think it was on the documentary "Jonbenet's America", where she was defending the Ramseys, especially Patsy, and saying how she couldn't accept either of them being involved in the crime in any way, because she knew them so well. It struck me, and this is only my opinion, that she might be one of those people who prides herself on being a "good judge of character", who is never wrong about people. As well as being dazzled and impressed by the Ramseys (who were pretty charming and manipulative), she probably didn't like to think that she might have been duped, and therefore refused to consider it. I could be completely wrong, of course- just my take on it, as one reason why she was defending them so adamantly.
Focussing on the 3 Ramseys- JR, PR and BR- there are enough odd things surrounding them with regard to the party on 23rd and afterwards. The fact that there were two 911 calls connected to the Ramsey home in some way, within days of each other, and their daughter ends up murdered, seems to be an extremely unusual coincidence, at the very least. There are several possibilities- it was an accident, as the police were told; it was a prank call; someone was calling for help or witnessed something; or someone was testing police response times? The last option seems least likely to me, only because this would indicate premeditation of some sort, and therefore seem to point away from a BDI scenario?
Again, this isn't a fact, just my instincts, but I find it strange that JR and PR repeatedly used the word "zonked" to describe JB in the car on the way home. It could just be their choice of word and not mean anything, but to me, it implies being unconscious or knocked out on drugs, rather than asleep.
Also, BR contradicted them, and told police that JB walked into the house herself, when they arrived home. If JR and PR were following some kind of script with their use of the word "zonked", then BR clearly wasn't following their script. Was this because he was telling the truth, and they were lying? If so, why did they need to lie? Or, was it because they were telling the truth, and he was lying, thinking that for some reason it would be better for him?
