Washington Post calls out Huffington Post. Another example of media looking for any "proof" of their own biases before facts are even known. And notice that WAPO points out how the correction was moved down in the story. Gotcha journalism...laying in wait for a salacious story to prove....what they are SURE they know. I woke up to this this morning. Just finished catching up. Another life lost due to his own stupidity. Another round of protests, hatred, anger. Hopefully the dead mans family will handle this differently than MBs family. My heart goes out to his devastated mom. Now she needs to do the right thing, call for peace. SEE her sons part in all this.
A few points I'd like to make.... I hate hearing LE use that kind of foul language. I know, I know they have to listen to it over and over. I understand it ( I KNOW what would fly out of my mouth would make a sailor blush). I just hate that it happens.
The covered badges, after the threats that happened during the MB riots/ protests I really don't blame LE if they are covering their badges. Rules or not, it's high time THEY/ their families had some protection from the thugs in the crowds. No officer should have to fear his family address will be posted online along with threats!!
I hope we can keep this thread respectful! Let's leave the baiting and personal attacks at the door. Scroll and roll.

Hi Dandy, it appears to me at the very end of the video you can see the males arm extended towards the police officer. Looks like a gun in his hand to me. I'm sure a close up version will come out over the next few days.

I was looking at some pictures, from the clothes one of the women with the baby stroller has on, it is the same clothes that the victim's girlfriend was wearing. His girlfriend supposedly was with him. So I guess the two guys in front of the store, one is the victim, met up with the two with the stroller.

As in assigned the cam on the day of the shooting but had not begun wearing it yet? Assigned to him. Was it in his possession yet? On his person but not in use or not on his person at all yet?

I am more concerned with why the dashcam was not in use. I can see an officer being assigned a body cam that very shift and not having begun using it as yet. But the dashcam was already there. Why was it not in use?

NOTE I am questioning why already present equipment was not being utilized at the time of the shooting but that does not mean I find anything hinky or worrisome about a cop shooting an armed man. Just a shame that there will be no footage of the incident aside from surveillance video.

We saw how quickly HuffPo ran with a false story from a witness who was never even there and has since recanted. Video would have quickly laid that to rest.

it was hard to hear on s/stack's video - but allegedly when an officer was asked his name, he said officer f??? you/off - or something like that. he was pulled off the line shortly after that.

although inappropriate, i can totally understand all the simmering rage they must have taking all this verbal abuse.

A lot of people are going to question why the body camera wasn't being used and why the dash cam wasn't being used. With all the situations happening, for me, it is hard to understand this, one would think you would like to have the dash cam and body camera to back up your words, I would.
