now she is asking him odor signature analysis methodology questions again when he clearly earlier stated he never even worked in this area.. and now asking him about positive controls in this case

BL because of what is naturally in the enviornment - it would be important to test from a variety of samples - not just 2 carpet samples - carpets with different degrees of wear, staining, etc.

This man has done this for over 20 years, many different stages of decomp and I think Dr. Vass is the expert in this field...knock the procedures when you don't even know or do his work..


Why do they put in hypotheticals....this isn't an experiment trial...is a murder trial...DSimms needs to be replaced...

It appears this is pointless for Dr. Logan just admitted himself with that answer he is not an expert...why go on???

Lawsuit...DSimms should realize this isn't a medical lawsuit, it's a criminal, premeditated murder trial of a two year old child..Could be, ICA will fire her once this day is over..they don't seem pleased with their own 'expert'...

I don't get this either. At first I thought well it's just to give HHJP info for him to rule properly on frye. But that doesn't really work either b/c he is not an expert! So what the heck is this? HHJP throwing the DT a bone? :waitasec:

Isn't the fact that there is no scientific publishing done on this topic mean trouble for the prosecution? I mean, is it a generally accepted science? Does the science even exist in the scientific community outside of Vass's work? Isn't that part of the Frye test?

When DNA was first introduced at trial it faced the same issues. New science will always be faced with this.
