ICA could have tossed her shoes before she got back her car or placed them in a bag. Why would they expect to find soil from the body site in the trunk? She didn't put her back in the trunk. Shoes were basically clean. My guess is that ICA had already tossed her shoes. My guess flip flops.

But Casey had not been living at home that month...did they get these shoes from the house? Were they shoes that had not even been worn since before Caylee "disappeared"?

  • #223
Why is Baez focusing on the shovel with the dump site when Brian B. stated that ICA borrowed it at the home and did not see her leave the home???

Transport bag: insufficient material for testing.

What the heck is transport bag? (thanks JA, I was wondering that too) - it was the bag the shoes were given to her in.

So, basically, this witness is here to report nothing! Zip, zilch, nada!

  • #226
Okay...

So tests couldn't be performed on most of the shoes and on the car. And this proves Casey didn't kill Caylee how?!?!

  • #227
oh, okay no soil in ICA shoes, or a different kind. Not a big deal, imo.

And she had plenty shoes....she could have thrown them away after they got wet and soiled. :twocents:

3 pairs of her shoes had geological matter on them that could NOT have come from recovery scene... ..and we know how much CA loved to clean, sure she kept ICA's shoes clean :-)

There was actually no comparison made between the car and the site.

Is Jose trying to imply it was a "shoddy" investigation?

Why would there be materials from the Suburban place in the trunk carpet?

I thought Casey was supposed to remove a deceased child from the trunk to the scene and not vice versa.
Perhaps ICA placed her there on the first or second day...but needed to go back to suburban for repackaging. She may have intended on using the shovel for Suburban dr.

I don't think she was driving around town with Caylee in the car for any long trip across town.

I wish my TV/Computer had an ignore button so it would go blank when Baez was on.

  • #232
ummmm, what about all the shoes in her closet? Would she really have taken her shoes off after dumping Caylee and put them in the trunk????

  • #233
Is Casey a shoe freak? Why were there several pairs of unworn shoes?

  • #234
If this is JB's " ah ha" moment i'm not duly impressed. Not hard to imagine she tossed the shoes she wore or washed them... At least that was short and sweet.

WTG JA cannot rule out they were not at the scene :)

Next...........

Wish I could forward this trial..

Does DT realize that shoes can be cleaned? So silly.

  • #238
This witness did nothing to help the defense

  • #239
JA: can you determine if shoes have NEVER been to crime scene?
Witness: No - you can walk through the scene and get soil on your shoes and it will later fall off, especially sandy soil, or get new stuff mixed in.

(good to know for would-be criminals. ICA takes note (in my imagination))

She might have had the shovel or something else she brought back from the scene, there was a small pile of dirt in the trunk in one of the pictures.
