Well...witness invokes 5th amendment rights...interesting. As an aside, and I'm just musing here, weren't Chandra Levy's remains ultimately found very close to an area that had been previously searched and, because of a miscommunication during the search regarding the area to be searched, had they gone 20 feet deeper they'd have found her much earlier? I seem to remember seeing this on one of those Investigation Discovery shows a while back....

This is the weirdest defense I've ever seen. They call witnesses. The SA turns the witness into a state witness. Then the DT tries to discredit their own witness.
