At the end of 2017, Robert Ives retired as CC Prosecutor; handed reins to McLeland.

Below is link to part 5 of the HLN (and WS approved) "Down the Hill" podcast of 2021.
Here Barb MacDonald conducts the 2020 interview with Robert Ives. About 34 min - mostly Robert Ives.

There is an interruption of this Robert Ives interview after the Signatures section ... (a signatures/staging FBI expert); the Ives interview picks up again from 15:40 and through the end.

Topics covered with Robert Ives in this interview.
- Signatures & Abundant Physical Evidence at Crime Scene
- LG's video evidence (blurry BG etc)
- FBI response, numbers of agents local, for how long
- Cell phone evidence and Cell phone search warrants and usefulness of cell phone location data.
- Inabilty to solve
- Robert Ive's take on the murder: no luring, no master plan, a few good suspects investigated but no one of them one seemed better than the other

Chapter 5: Signatures – Down The Hill: The Delphi Murders – Podcast
(Chapter 5 of Down-the-Hill - HLN - Barb MacDonald)

(The countless lost early interviews ... happened under Ives watch. Wonder what he must be thinking now...)

The defense was ready to go in January. The State halted it all with their ridiculous shenanigans (which was an attempt to get the unexpectedly dogged, highly-qualified defense attorneys thrown off the case). Supreme Court said it was all B.S., but that took time.

Because of Nick McLeland's months and months long delay in getting them Discovery, they didn't know until after they filed for a speedy trial that they will need geofence experts. So yes, there may not be enough time. If there isn't, I hope they do delay the trial so that we only have to do this once.

People can scream "delay tactics by the defense!" all they want, but it doesn't make it true. The court record and timeline of events makes it quite clear what's been going on.

If you're paying attention.

IMO.

You mean where his “mate” had access to
His office and leaked confidential photos of the dead girls and the judge tried to throw them a bone?

How exactly this is the prosecution’s issue is beyond me. Can you elaborate please?

They didn’t leak confidential photos of deceased underage girls to the web.

With all due respect. Supreme Court didn’t have all the facts at the time. They didn’t know the extent or AB’s collaboration with MW against court orders. They did not know they the negligence by defense was perhaps intentional IMO
Much more has come to light since January and at the time the court was in weighing the 6th amendment rights of the defendant against what they knew to be the conduct of defense at the time. JMO.

Also I believe the geofence evidence was handed over last year and defense simply didn’t get to it. I believe this was outlined in the motion for Parity. I’ll have to go look. Hold please.

Can't help but wonder if the fundraiser for expert witnesses will have any impact on the speedy trial or a plea deal. Funds were solicited for a specific purpose. Curious as to where these funds would go if there ends up being no need for an expert witness?

Also, I am not clear on how the witness list is handled. Is/was there a date where all witnesses must be made known? Would a CI be named on a witness list?

Hugs to family and loved ones of Abby and Libby. My heart hurts for them.
A real ethical quandary that has also been sidestepped by their choice of wording in the fundraising plea for help as well as their chose of fundraising platforms.

I guess i have a hard time believing that the defence was ready to go AND they don't have money for their experts. It seems very late in the day to be commissioning this work - we are just 5 weeks out.

I guess I naively assumed that they would have finished all this before filing for the speedy - but maybe it works more like corporate IT projects and it all comes together in the final weeks?

Yes but quit wasting all this time and .money!
Its only a waste when we're not the accused. I wonder if RA feels its a waste of time and money or if he wants them to do whatever they can do to perhaps prove him innocent (if he is), or at least create reasonable doubt such that he is set free....?

Haha - well for RA sake let’s hope it can all come together for them as Judge isn’t playing their games and wants this to go as they are the ones who wanted a speedy trial.

Well, I guess time may tell. <modsnip: no source link>

What's the issue with the platform? I thought they chose it based on the fact this type of campaign as allowed (whereas on platforms like 🤬🤬🤬, it isn't.)

"Westerman admitted to investigators that he took photos of evidence in a conference room in Baldwin's Franklin, Indiana law office, then gave those photos to someone else before they eventually were published on social media."

Why try to bring the prosecutor into this?
It was stated by both Westerman and Baldwin that it was the D's photos that were accessed and used.

You know, poor Baldwin was snookered and Bamboozled by a friend.

Legal battle surrounding Delphi murders case gets personal

Didn't Rozzi testify to being familiar with some of the photographs leaked, but not others? I can't find that part.

Hey, it's at least plausible. What's the plausible excuse for Nick reading sealed ex parte motions?

Thank you I did suddenly wonder why the prosecution was suddenly to blame for violating these poor girls even in death with leaked photos . The D are up to their neck in this scandal as it’s their office where they originated from.

It’s a travesty!

Dark web? Who said they were released on the dark web?

The defenses responsibilty to guard and theirs if exposed.

I may be the only one here that thinks it wasn't an evil plan hatched by B&R. Regardless, they clearly failed to secure the photos. Plain and simple, can't be denied. For some reason the buck never seems to stop anywhere anymore.

Let me edit my post if I misspoke I assumed that’s where some of the images ended up.

I wouldn't bother, I'd bet you're right, sadly. If there is such a thing as a safe assumption, that would be one. And an awful awful one. :(

I absolutely think (IMO, MOO) they were, I just hadn't heard that definitively. I think they've been going around for years. And I think, my opinion and theory, that they were being sold (or attempted to be sold). IMO.
