I found that a desperate move by the sinking ship that is the P in this case. LOL imo, NM knew the D was going to object to the video being included since the D hadn't seen it yet, he didn't care. Imo, he just wanted the jury to hear it - bonus if they got to see the video, which they didn't.

Sounds like what do some people call it? A big nothingburger on that video since JG ruled against the jury seeing it - moo. I hope the jury found this as comical and slimy by the P as I did. MOOO.

It wasn't the right way to introduce the information.
But what do you think of the leaked crime scene photos, the Franks memorandum and the hair known to be a female relative of Libby's being a big deal during the opening statements (a true "nothing burger"?)

I don't want the wrong person convicted. This is a terrifying case. But I don't think the prosecution's actions are comparable to the defense's.

Well, it's not an air-tight case for the prosecution and I wanted desperately to see some data/geo-fence evidence or something along those lines. However, portraying the entire Indiana legal system, prison system, and LE as corrupt, (AND possibly suggesting Odinists committed this crime) is about as unbelievable as it gets.

we know from MS coverage of the discord leaks what is in the geofence.

in any event the Geofence is not needed as they can just get RAs phone data from the provider if they still have it. and of course the phone is gone.

Good question. I wonder if they were done, why we didn't hear about them from the State before they rested earlier today?
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a "check the box" sort of thing to avoid trials backing up, etc. It seems to me, and I’ll never claim to be a rocket scientist, that if this were a level of violation as serious as portrayed that his team would be absolutely screaming about this on a daily basis in court. I’m not picking & choosing sides here. I think it’s fair to state the D can be quite emphatic about drawing attention to certain matters if they really wish, be it in court or elsewhere. If that isn’t happening then they’re either waiting for appeals or it just isn’t the case.

We will find out all in due time, more than likely. And to be fair, I do understand & empathize with your concerns. Not all accused are treated fairly, I can agree to that much right now. I’m not educated well enough on the subject to lend to any useful debate over it though. CJ system in IN does need to improve things but I’m not sure we can figure out how to accomplish that with so many emotions invested in this case. Very good topic for discussion no doubt.

I think juries get it right more often than not.

From what I've seen of the jurors' questions, they are paying attention and asking reasonable and logical questions.

They've heard way more details of testimony than any sources we observers rely on could possibly report.

All this by way of saying that I think RA is guilty, but if he's acquitted, I will respect their decision because they know way more than I do.

Who's with me?

5. They were presented during testimony from Brian Harshman, the ISP “phone guy” who’s monitored all 700 calls Allen made while in prison. Harshman described Allen’s demeanor during the calls as “calm, subdued, solemn.” After hearing the calls, I agree with that characterization.

WAIT! Richard Allen searched for scary movies in October of 2022?!?

Throw away the key!!!

On a serious note I’m baffled as to why the prosecution would end their case on a new timeline that doesn’t work with the first 95% of their testimony to the timeline.

I also have no idea why they would call liebart to testify about the man that was at her gate that morning, maybe trying to jump out ahead of it in front of the defense?

Looking forward to hearing the defenses case.

Any word on if Kegan Kline is in motion? I know they had sent their transport motion recently and it’s a pretty narrow window.

Very curious to hear what he has to say. I’m wondering if the judge is going to allow him to tell his confession to the jury.

BBM the last 2 witnesses of the day were the defense witnesses after the state rested their case.

Who were the two defense witnesses? Sorry running around with the kids still for Halloweeny
The woman who testified to being on the bridge after 330 and the woman that testified about the man standing near the mailbox. Sorry I’d have to find a link for their names but the one you mentioned is one of them.

6. While Allen was emotional in some of the 7 calls the jury heard today, he was mostly calm & matter-of-fact as he repeats multiple times “I did it.” When his mom insisted he couldn’t do something like that, he calmly responded “Mom, why would I tell you I did it if I didn’t?”

i am guessing the defence is going to lead RAs phone evidence and state will cross.
They led with two witnesses.

One, who was at MHB closer to 4. Saw little, heard nothing. And one, who saw someone by a mailbox that morning but didn't have much of description.

According to TMS, after the jury was dismissed, the D asked the judge when she'd be ruling on their 3rd party motion because... they need to develop a strategy.

The trial has begun!!! They still aren't ready????

Ah I got it I know who she is thank you

I looked at a few 2016 SE models on Carvana. They had leather looking seats. I just hate unanswered questions, but this seems to answer mine about the lack of DNA.
I find 2 models for 2016 Ford Focus SE trim - 4 door sedan & 4 door Hatchback (ie: 5 door) Leather interiors and upgraded wheels are available as options for both.

Both appear to come standard with cloth seats as / interior specs.

2016 Ford Focus SE 5 Dr Hatchback

2016 Ford Focus SE 4 Dr Sedan

Interesting that IMO that hatchback resembles the look of some smartcars.

I do actually agree with the defense here. If this pagan horse cult human sacrifice neo Nazi Salem witch trial ritualistic devil worshiping branch davidian Manson family theory can’t come in, then it would change the way they present their case.

It’s unfair they’d have to wait until they get the ball to know which direction they are going to go in. They still don’t know, and there’s really no excuse for it. I am sure they had a contingency plan, but that could throw off their presentation depending on the decision.

Just being objective here, despite my feelings about the theory.

if they had actual evidence for trial they wouldn’t have had the Due Process Gang creating internet conspiracies about a second location and 4.30 am murders like in their opening.

It’s absurd yet that it what they opened with.

It’s always been a hoax and that was revealed at the 3 day hearing when they presented nothing of substance. They don’t have some special better SODDI evidence that they held back from those hearings.

MOO

This is the kind of stuff that seems unnecessary on the part of the judge, not helpful for the P presenting their case and just laying groundwork for appeals- moo

I'm praying Judge Gull allows them bring this Odinism thing in. I haven't read the documents about it or anything, but the theory sounds absolutely hilarious. The bolded line had me crying laughing when I read it.

But Allen's defense is handicapped by Judge Frances Gull's refusal to allow his attorneys to present evidence for their theory that Abby and Libby were killed by Odinistsmembers of a pagan Norse religion hijacked by white nationalists ― during a sacrificial ritual in the woods. The defense filed its latest motion Wednesday to admit testimony on that evidence, but Gull said on Thursday that she hadn't found time to make a ruling.

From this source:

But, what does ‘Odinism,’ or Odinist, actually mean?
Broadly, the word refers to a belief system that centers Odin, the Norse god of war and death. That a seemingly ancient term rooted in the beliefs of medieval European pagans would show up in a document filed by attorneys in a Carroll County courthouse does not come as a shock for scores of civil rights advocacy organizations keeping tabs on white supremacist organizations throughout the United States.

Hate groups have been pulling symbols, words and ideologies rooted in European pagan belief systems to advance racist beliefs for decades. Criminologist and civil rights attorney Dr. Brian Levin has won awards for his experience tracking hate groups and extremism at California State’s Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism and said, throughout nearly 37 years of continual work in that space, he receives requests to define Odinism about once every three years.

Those first inquiries about ‘Odinism’ first began in the mid-1970s when, Levin explained, a widespread renewed interest in earth centered, pre-Christian belief systems percolated throughout the United States. White supremacist groups sought to realign themselves with more contemporary subcultures.

“Odinism has been around, in the American far-right white supremacist world for decades, but with different strata in regards to whether some folks just get a tattoo of these gods or symbols, or if they fully adhere to it,” Levin explained.

In the early 2000s in Indiana, a racist skinhead group called the Vinlanders Social Club, who identified as Odinists, formed in Indiana. That grew to be one of the largest and most hardcore, racist skinhead groups in the country. But, by the mid 2010s, membership had largely filtered out. Still, others remain entrenched in the state's prison system.

END OF CLIP

I guess Odinism actually is a pagan Norse religion hijacked by white nationalists.

7. Kathy Allen cried in court as the phone recordings played for the jury. Janis Allen was not in court today; Richard’s mother has been recovering from a bad fall she suffered on her way to the courthouse Saturday morning. RA showed no real emotion as we heard the recordings.

My feeling is the Judge already ruled it out at a contested hearing. they know they don’t get a do-over.
