I bet Simon said a little bit more than his parents were 'getting fluids' at the hospital.

This is something that I have been wondering about since Simon testified but never went into detail of what he told her. If he did tell her something along the lines that they were very very sick, why didn't the prosecution ask him make this clear while he was in the witness stand.

Does anyone else get the feeling that someone involved with the case is watching this forum? We see you Colin... 🔍🔎

Ha. I typed an excuse at one point that I was surprised we hadn't heard yet... but then deleted it, you know, just in case!

7 people actually. She and her 2 kids. They all reportedly ate the meal.

Plus the dog. Next she's going to explain how the dog has body image issues and has been struggling with Bulimia.

Has anyone else noticed that she claims to have made "6 pies" on the day of the lunch. However, allegedly, 7 were consumed (Erin, Gail, Don, Ian, Heather, Child 1, Child 2).
1.5 were found in the bin. (Simon's and half of Erin's she allegedly didn't consume).

That equals 8.

But her purchase receipts only show she purchased 5 eye fillets.

Where did the other 3 come from?
It is my theory that the three for her, and her children, were in the freezer, IMO

Curious why you wouldn't spend more than 9 seconds in the bathroom washing your hands and 'cleaning yourself up' better if you allegedly went to the toilet on the side of the road.
Oh, that's ok, she had some tissues. Apparently with explosive diarrhoea tissues is all one needs.

Regarding the factory reset on 6 August 2023, Patterson said after the police search she wondered if she could login to her Google account and see where the seized devices were. She said she wondered if police were “silly enough to leave it connected to the internet”.

“I hit factory reset to see what happened,” she says.
She thinks she’s really clever, doesn’t she?

My reaction to Erin digging herself into a larger pit each day she gives testimony

I have started working on a timeline of when DCs first started coming into the picture, and what Erin knew when.

It's only a start but will share. If anyone has time to carry on, please do. Otherwise I will try and finish as I can.

Timeline of Gastro vs DCs ***very scribbled draft***

Sunday 10.30pm toxicologist suggests DC

6.50am Hospital administer the antidote to DC pre-emptively

8am EP arrives at hospital, [knowing the others are there and believing everyone thinks the others have gastro and are on fluids. Check if this is correct].
She tells the Dr she has gastro.
Dr advises they want to treat her for DC.

[Is this the first she has heard of DC being suspected?]

She tells him they came from Woolworths. [From memory, need to check]

5 mins later leaves against advice and agreeing she will be 20mins.

Dr calls police to retrieve her. [Is this duty of care or is this where her reactions made him suspicious? Heather had mentioned plates, when did professionals hear of this]

Returned [what time?]

10.30am MP phones EP asks for source of mushrooms. She says Woolworths and a Chinese grocer from Oakleigh.

***roughly scribbled draft only!***

MOO

Brilliant theory!

It's just basic math. You'd think an accountant would do this math better. I am horrific at math, and even I noticed this basic discrepancy.

Conflicting testimony between Erin and Simon Patterson
By Judd Boaz

Erin Patterson has spent her second day in the witness box, and has given her account of the events surrounding the deadly July 29 lunch.

Some of the details Erin told the court directly conflict with testimony we've heard earlier in the trial.

A conversation alleged to have taken place on July 31 in hospital was again raised in court by the defence.

Erin told the court that while alone, Simon put forward a shocking allegation.

"He said to me, 'Is that how you poisoned my parents, using that dehydrator?'" Erin told the court.

Earlier in the trial, Mr Mandy asked Simon if he had said, "Is that what you used to poison them?"

"I did not say that to Erin," Mr Patterson replied.
What difference does what Simon said or didn't say make to whether she murdered them or not?

Deflection, deflection, deflection.

Agree entirely. It's of no relevance whatsoever, other than that she seems to think that blaming Simon for all of the worlds ills is rational in this circumstance? It is delusional IMO.

When he told her about his concern of death cap mushrooms in the meal, Erin says she was "shocked but confused as well".

"I was just expecting to come in for saline for gastro," she says.

Translation: oh no they're on to me
How would she not know how death caps got into the meal since she admitted she foraged for some wild mushrooms and added them into the meal ?

Now if I served a nice lunch and my guests were hospitalised with Death Cap poisoning, I truly would be shocked and confused because I don't forage for mushrooms.

But her, not so much. Why was she 'confused.'

It would be more believable and even more understandable if she had just admitted to the court that when she learned it was possibly mushroom poisoning she quickly realised she had made an unforgivable MISTAKE and was so overwhelmed she panicked and hurried home to cover it up. She was afraid she'd lose her children, etc because of her horrible mistake.

But this coy act of playing stupid and confused just looks worse, imo.

i find it telling that when confronted with the reality of the situation and asked about how she felt at the time, she responds with:
i felt anxious
i felt confused
i.felt overwhelmed
I felt worried about my children
what she did not ever say was
I felt very concerned about my guests
(you know, those people she professed to have loved)

“Wouldn’t it be so fun to see if I can tamper with evidence in a murder investigation where I am the prime suspect? Not at all suspicious or incriminating in the slightest!”

Patterson says on Sunday morning Simon told her his parents also had diarrhea and were at Korumburra Hospital.

She recalls driving her son to his flying lesson in Tyabb. Her daughter was also in the car.

Patterson says en route she pulled to the side of the road and went to the toilet in a bush,

She says she had diarrhoea.

Mandy asks about evidence heard earlier in the trial, that Patterson and her children stopped at a service station.

“The internal footage shows you going into the bathroom,” Mandy says.

Patterson says she put the soiled tissues in the bin in the toilet. She then bought food items for her children.
And she didnt take the opportunity to sit on the toilet and give it another try, since she was so unwell and all?

Or take the opportunity to clean herself up a bit better since she had dome so before on the side of the road.
Patterson says she did not buy anything for herself and did not eat any of the purchased food.

Her son’s flying lesson was cancelled due to poor weather and they turned back, the court hears.

On the way back, Patterson says her son bought a coffee for her at a donut van. She says she asked her son to get her a drink and he likely bought her a coffee as “habit”.

When they returned home, Patterson ran for the toilet, the court hears.
I doubt that. I don't believe for a second that she really suffered from diarrhoea at that point. IMO

I really hope and pray that the prosecution gets a rebuttal and can show evidence that vomiting does not protect a person from death cap poisoning. The toxins enter the bloodstream almost immediately.
Do you have a link to a reputable site showing that the toxins enter the bloodstream almost immediately? I'm curious, I haven't seen anything like this and I've searched a little. We know from several sources that the symptoms of amanitas toxins poisoning begin anywhere from 6-24hours after ingestion. Is it absorbed immediately through the stomach lining and then the small intestine where its faster like how alcohol is absorbed?

I am not one to freak out or "panic" under pressure, but if I thought that I had accidentally poisoned anyone, and especially people I really cared about, in particular my children, I can't imagine the turmoil I would be in and I wouldn't be able to sleep until I had figured it out and assisted in every single way possible. I wouldn't have slept for days. I would be holding bedside vigils and apologising profusely and assisting police and medical staff as much as humanly possible.

I noticed Erin had good sleeping routines after she was aware her meal had caused 4 elderly people "she loved" to be hospitalised and in the ICU within 24 hours of her 'special lunch'.

I can't get my mind around it, other than to think that she has the empathy of concrete.

Well it might just be a coincidence, but the accused seems to be making excuses/creating stories for a lot of the questions that we have raised on this forum... 👀
