But disagreeing with someone/everyone is a completely different proposition to saying they're lying. They're two very different things.

If my recollection when catching up friends was that i was wearing a green shirt but they all think I was wearing a red shirt, I don't refer to them as liars or think they are lying.
I’m not sure I follow your rationale Bats.

From my perspective : if my 4 friends ( who were all mentally sound, had good eyesight & were not colourblind) thought that I wore a Red shirt when we all caught up, but I thought I wore a green shirt, I would say ‘I must be mistaken’ - as the same opinion from each of those 4 people would tip the scales that way IMO.
And being good friends, they would no doubt agree and it would end there.

However, if it became apparent over various conversations / discussions that I was vehemently disagreeing with their in-common recollections, they may start to scratch their heads initially > then to start to worry about my memory > they may even accuse me of lying 🤥😮

IMO

YES^^^^^
I once had an Aunt that married into the family. I was just a kid but really liked her. She was very friendly and chatty and was very nice to us kids. Over time I began to over hear quiet adult talk about 'Aunt Patty' and I think it was the first time I heard the term 'pathological liar' ----after a few years I began to understand.

She'd lie about absolutely everything, even the most inconsequential details. It was really weird.
But also created some drama and chaos which was very annoying and exhausting.

My uncle divorced her but I still saw my cousins a lot so did see Aunt Patty over the years and I don't think she ever stopped her habitual lies.

The saddest part was how it impacted her 2 kids. It's just weird to not be able to believe what your Mom tells you. Or trust what she says to others about you. Her son especially----he was depressed for much of his life but seemed to get over it in his 30's when he married a nice calm honest woman and started a family. He moved his family far away from his mom because it was too toxic.
My ex is a narcissist and as such, a pathological liar. Even when he was caught out in a lie, he would still continue with the lie while staring you in the face. It's recognised legally as a disorder.

So now, we can circle back to that disgusting heap of lies she told to Gail and Don, spurring them all on to pray over her for healing and recovery, and for how to tell her poor children their mum has ovarian cancer and needs chemotherapy....

And while the 4 of them are in prayer and in service to Erin, their bodies are just beginning to digest the deadly lunch she prepared for them, starting the prior spring.

This 🥺

Sorry to be argumentative, but actually, her friends are sending her colouring in meditation books in there.

I can't wait to!
Have you tried any previous beef wellingtons? Would you still like to go around for lunch? :D

Erin and her defence team will provide that explanation for you.
The only explanation I've heard so far was she panicked and was afraid they'd think it was intentional so she just kept lying.

I think that borders on Criminal Negligence so I am wondering how they will counter that.

It has definitely been unusual, that's for sure. However the people who I feel for mostly are the Patterson family, especially the kids in this awful story.

I along with other former friends are learning a lot through the trial along with everyone else. A lot of the things we were led to believe I am now finding out are categorically untrue. Little things, things nobody would usually lie about. It is discombobulating.
.... @Detechtive I am hesitating to ask, but keen to understand better... Do you have an example you could safely share? (without outing anyone of course)
Would really appreciate it if you could, and fully understand if that is not something you can do, or prefer not to do. Thank you

I think it's very poor form that she is now calling both her kids liars to cover herself.

They would've been nervous and in shock with the whole situation, then the police interviews.

Truly horrendous. The kids won't forget that

I found the "chopping into cubes" testimony of her son, odd. I have pondered whether she was infantilising a teen by chopping up a steak, but you raise a good point that she may have done that to obscure whether it was leftovers or not.

Also, who reheats steak? I can't imagine it would be juicy the next day. Am I wrong?!

I don't believe she reheated anything. I believe she cooked two fresh steaks for her kids from the 10 she purchased, like you said. IMO
100% - except I think she purchased 8 steaks.

She used 6 in Beef Wellington pies ( removed the steak from leftovers so no incriminating evidence was to be found in her bin - and disposed of that elsewhere i.e. in the toilet wrapped in tissue )

Cooked the other 2 for their dinner Sunday night, cutting them in cubes to share between the 3 of them - the kids didn’t see dinner being cooked, they were called when it was ready.

Erin apparently purchased 4 packs of 2 steaks on Thursday, then another pack of 2 steaks on Friday - according to her self-serve check out list.

Patterson made "deviations" to the RecipeTinEats recipe, including buying 10 beef tenderloin steaks after being unable to find a log of beef .....

I think just the simple fact that she still continues to tell lies.

Her kids will realise now that she's lying about everything.

I think this evidence is soooooooo incriminating. Here's why I think so---

She just got through explaining a long diatribe of how embarrassed and humiliated she felt because of the shame of her bulimia which triggered her to LIE to her in-laws about the Cancer Diagnosis.

So she weaselled out of that shameful cancer lie by giving a somewhat rational explanation----she planned on having upcoming bariatric surgery, needed childcare help during that time, so she made up the cancer treatment lie.

OKAY, it is still obnoxious and pretty awful, but OK.....BUT NOW we know that was all a lie as well....

And she pivoted and tried to say 'Errr I mean LIPOSUCTION, that's what I meant....

But again, FAIL-----total shameless LIE , Erin Erin Erin....

At this point, if she said that the grass is green and the sky is blue, I'd expect the jurors to look out the nearest window to check for themselves.

I don’t know, unless that date was significant over 2 years ago, I wouldn’t remember what day of the week it was. But Erin remembers. It was significant to her.
Maybe Dr R was just testing EP, to see if she would pick up that error. NOW she knows that EP does remember that day, so if she goes back to that line of questioning tomorrow, EP can't just say 'I don't remember anything...'

Dr R can just say " but you remembered it was a Friday, right?' lol

Possibly bringing back memories of their dad's previous sudden stomach illness as well, going to the hospital, getting tests done etc...

Yes the son said the 3 serves of the steak were 5cm cubes, the son testified that Erin apparently wasn’t hungry so the son ate his own and Erin’s serve and the daughter ate the third.

How big is a Woolworths beef eye fillet?
Hypothetically, would there be enough meat, from Erin’s version of the leftovers, to cut into three 5x5cm cubes?

As for the missing poisoned (?) beef fillet that Erin removed from the pastry of the 6th BW, I still can’t shake the thought that she was hoping to feed it to Simon in some way or another….but yeah, in reality she probably disposed of it very thoroughly away from her home.
IMO

Maybe she cooked all four "spares" on Sunday night, and cut them up to split between 3 people. Her 14 year old may have been a ravenous teen and they could do 4 steaks between 3 people. Seeing that she couldn't just buy 3 more steaks as they seem to come in packs of two.

All I would say to this, is that surely the prosecution would have picked up on this?

The idea that they came in packs of 2, as far as I recall, came from a user on the forum looking them up. Maybe the 4 x beef eye fillet steak, means 2 packs of steak?

Yes, things that wouldn't have mattered if she just told the truth and wouldn't have changed how anyone viewed her, like, she told someone that she was renting and was complaining about the cost of real estate and how it's unaffordable in Melbourne. This someone just so happened to be renting and unable to afford to purchase a house at the time.
But we now know that was not true. She owned two homes mortgage free at the time she was saying this.

Also, things like - she made out that Simon and her still lived together when they were separated for more than 4 years. She complained about him not doing husbandly things all the time, but now we know they were separated at that time.

Oh... wow.......

Just.... wow.

Oh and thank you so much for sharing!

Isn’t it curious that Erin never mentioned Simon’s coma and very serious stay in the ICU as further reasons the children might be fearful or anxious about hospitals? He almost died! That would be very significant for young children.

Unless I missed something?

Looks like their steaks are weight variable.

Woolworths Beef Eye Fillet Steak 200g - 500g

(Interestingly, the pack says Pan Fry or BBQ) Link

Maybe she cooked all four "spares" on Sunday night, some may have been smaller than others, and cut them up to split between 3 people.
