😳 And here I have been thinking that Americans have bad table manners. I’m sorry.

My family is very strict on British manners 🙄 but definitely as a child, elbows on table, eating with cutlery in wrong hands - major trouble 🤣
Elbows on tables is a no-no here too. So at least we have that in common!

Speaking of cutlery…. I can’t imagine I would want my kiddos eating with death cap tainted knives and forks, even though we know a tiny bit of residue wouldn’t harm them.

I wonder where those went. 🤔

No.
She wants us to think, because the plates, specified by others, are now, not in the house, others have lied.
Probably, she has thrown them out.
Ah, thanks for the clarification.

I was replying to the post that said having mismatched plates was an oddity. I don't really think it is, it's just one way to live.

How have you come to the conclusion that others lied, not her? The sole surviving guest noted the plates to be grey. Allegedly one of the deceased (Gail?) also commented on the plates being grey before she died. Her son noted 15cm white plates when he was cleaning up after the dessert of cake and fruit. My money is on those being used for the dessert, and were likely to be considered side/bread and butter plates, not dinner plates.

Just because there were no grey plates in the home when it was searched, does not mean there weren't grey plates used for the lunch. The lunch the son was not there for, he arrived after dessert had been served. AFAIK, we have not heard how the dinner plates were cleared from the table, where they were placed, and by whom. For all we know, Erin could have been the perfect host and told her guests to stay seated, she'd clear the table, then brought the plates out into the butler's pantry and hid them somewhere odd, to be removed and discarded from the home at a later date.

Have we clarified anything more than "grey", "white" or "15cm"? To me, if the plates were a very pale grey, they may appear white, and a "dirty white" may appear light grey. Has there been any clarification on what type of grey they were?
I think tmar was joking, being sarcastic when they said 'the others lied, not her.'
That's how I took it but maybe because I know their sense of humour? lol

I’m a bit shocked at the reports of her eye rolling at some of the questions. It’s just incredibly rude.

Compared her to Detective Eppingstall who was courteous to both the prosecution and the defence and who stood up for the full five days he was giving evidence, out of respect for the process.

Patterson accused of trying to 'appear as seriously unwell' as lunch guests

Dr Rogers suggested Patterson never had diarrhoea after the lunch.
Patterson claimed she had loose bowel movements on Saturday night but needed to drive her son's friend home about 7.30pm on Saturday, July 29.
Patterson claimed she didn't get diarrhoea until much later in the evening after dropping her son's friend off and after she and her son stopped at Subway.
Patterson also told child services worker Katrina Cripps (pictured) she didn't get out of the car because the position of sitting down would act as a 'cork' and avoid a loose bowel accident.
Dr Rogers suggested the 'cork' story was untrue and Patterson wasn't fearful of having an accident while driving the friend home.
Dr Rogers then suggested Patterson never had diarrhoea on the Saturday at all.
Patterson denied this claim.
Dr Rogers suggested Patterson wouldn't be driving around if she had the diarrhoea on Saturday evening.
Patterson claimed she felt more unwell on the Sunday.

Wait a minute---she felt more unwell on Sunday? Then why go on a 3 hour round trip drive?
Dr Rogers suggested Patterson told so many people she was sick because she wanted to 'appear as seriously unwell as your lunch guests'.

EXACTLY. But it didn't work because on the very day the doctor released her because she was NOT SICK, her 4 lunch guests were near death with multiple organ failure and in comas.

So it is ridiculous for her to keep talking about feeling 'dizzy' and 'having diarrhoea every ten minutes' when the real victims were on the verge of a painful death.
'Incorrect,' Patterson said.

Thanks, that's been cleared up. I didn't understand the sarcasm, which is ironic, because sarcasm is my first language. I love a good eye roll emoji.

You can blame Erin for gaslighting you about what emojis mean.

It appears as though EP made an error and began telling others about her having gastric problems on Saturday afternoon, when she had described to Simon that she had problems when she was driving her son's friend home, late afternoon. That's when she talked about staying in the car when he went into Subway because she felt like the car seat worked like a cork, or something...

But later she tried to walk that back in court and say "oh no, really I didn't have gastric problems until late Saturday night or Sunday morning.'

Did she change that because she learned that the others didnt gt sick until last Saturday night?

I feel like it’s so hard to tell how she come’s across without being able to hear her and view her body language in action. IMO
True, but some of the reporters are describing her 'rolling her eyes' and 'closing her eyes and huffing'

So that along with some of the snarky wording makes it seem like she is being very defensive and arrogant at times.

Strikes me as the real, everyday EP breaking through the mask.

Questions over sixth beef Wellington Erin prepared

By Joseph Dunstan

Dr Rogers suggests that the sixth beef Wellington Ms Patterson had prepared was for Simon and was thrown in the bin.

Ms Patterson disagrees, saying she didn't prepare the sixth beef Wellington for Simon.

"I did not make that one for him ... it was just an extra one," she says.
That's hard to believe that she didn't make that 'extra' one with Simon in mind. She urged him, shamed him even, trying to get him to come to the luncheon.

If she made another one then it was for him. Why not just admit that? What is the point in denying that.

Who goes to all that trouble to make an extra Beef Wellington for 'nobody' ---it's just 'an extra one.' FOR WHO? No one believes it wasn't made for Simon. IMO

She kind of reminds me of an angry teenager. Being defiant and argumentative just because. And the rolling of the eyes and deep sighs, etc.

"No, that's not what I said, or not what I meant...WHATEVER...eyeroll"

Given her plates some thought … smashed grey plates could be invisible on a gravel road, in the potting shed to be used for drainage in a planter or dumped by a Subway.

Erin Patterson indicated that she knew that Don and Gail Patterson were in a coma.

Tanya recounted to the court a discussion about Erin Patterson’s health, and that she hadn’t slept much in the hospital due to the noise,

Wonder if that was as jarring in court as it seems to come across here?

Whether she's innocent or guilty, I cannot STAND EP. Rather standout line though.

"During one line of cross-examination about her online activity, Ms Patterson attempted to direct the questioning, which was firmly shut down by the crown.

"I'm the person who asks the questions. If there's something that needs to be clarified in re-examination then your barrister will do so," Dr Rogers responded.

"No problem," Ms Patterson said."

I thought the exact same thing- I got the impression of a petulant teenager, rolling their eyes at authority. She's basically giving Dr Rogers a metaphoric middle finger with the sighs, eye rolls, snide responses.

Rogers says after Patterson left the hospital she “drove towards Outtrim”.
“I did not,” says Patterson.
Rogers says Patterson’s phone records “demonstrated she drove out of the Leongatha area, heading towards or into Outtrim”.
Patterson denies this. She says she did not leave her Leongatha home before returning to the hospital.

I just realised something. On the morning of Monday, July 31st, doctors were already concerned about DeathCap poisoning and insisting that Erin and her children begin treatment immediately, yet she checked herself out of hospital instead.

We had previously theorised that she might have driven gone home to stage the leftovers, but this new information that she drove to Outtrim in that period is particularly interesting. (This is the same place it was alleged she originally foraged for the DeathCaps)

What if - Knowing that she had no symptoms of DeathCap poisoning Erin panicked and went looking for more DeathCaps in order to Micro Dose herself?

Even worse - she initially refused to bring her children in to hospital for treatment... What if she was planning to Micro Dose them as well?

Fortunately for everyone, by that point she'd missed the end of the DeathCap season and wouldn't have been able to find any more.

... and the jury is watching and listening. 👍

The unhappily obese, sympathetic character that Mandy tried to paint is quickly crumbing.

Omg.

She allegedly drove to Outtrim? Oh my goodness.
