Erin was in the STEM stream ... math and science.
Now she's advanced to the next STEM stream in her life:
Sentencing for Terribly Emotionless Murderers.

I might be imagining things here. I think she put something in the bin in the toilet and then when she came out noticed that someone else had gone in. I think she then pretended to be buying a sandwich but was really waiting to see if the person had found what she dropped in the bin and had come out looking for the owner and she could say it was hers. It seems she put back the first sandwich she had chosen and when a different woman comes out of the toilet she seems to duck down.
Alternatively, if she's right about having bad gastro then how disgusting that she puts soiled tissues in the bin in the toilet without washing her hands and then handling the food.
I'm now 100% convinced that Erin put something(s) in the restroom bins that she was concerned could implicate her in her crimes (that was not fake soiled tissues).

Watching the vid again a few times, it so much looks like Erin is checking the movements in and out of that restroom door very closely whilst loitering around the sandwiches.

She probably only bought the sandwiches as a cover for why she was using the sandwich open fridge area as cover to check out the restroom door area, in case anyone came out with what she had just dumped in one of the restroom bins, that was the sort of item someone might take out of a bin, such as an electronic item like a phone or a digital storage drive.

This other Herald Sun article from this morning says that Simon is expected to be a no-show at the pre-sentence hearing. Although a prosecutor could read a VIS from him.

(My comment - are these guesses by the HS based on Simon not attending court for the verdict?)

Thank you for sharing. That’s very interesting.

Why would Simon not show up, I wonder?

It should be LWOP. Triple murder and I believe a credible threat to her family if she is let out for the poisoning risk.

Agree. I wonder if the Prosecution will bring up the DUI?
And I also wonder whether Justice Beale will go straight into Sentencing after the Plea Hearing, or think about it for a couple of weeks.

The only thing I would be carrying is my phone, keys, purse or sunnies that I’d taken off inside if it was too

I'm sure there is a WS ruling on discussing sexuality but when you said purse it made me think.
I presumed you were a man just like people may presume Aquawoman is a woman.
As you know Erin pretty well, do you know if she had any male friends, either on the internet or in real life.
I now don't imagine she would have any and when it comes to sentencing I can't see any males putting in a good word for her.
I hope the prosecution can pick up anything Mandy says about Erin being a very well respected member of the community blah blah blah and say to him hold on a minute who are these people who believe that.

EP's stateside spiritual twin, Sarah Boone, gave an entire lecture abusing her deceased victim and all his family plus everyone under the sun 'forgiving' them for they know not what they do type of stuff and even turned on the judge IIRC. It defies belief that someone who has caused such harm and sorrow to the family and children of the man she murdered was facilitated to rant at such length and make all manner of allegations against the deceased and the grieving family in a court room. JMO MOO
Second only to Sarah Boone's statement was the one that Jessy Kurczewski wrote and was allowed to read before her sentencing after being convicted of killing her friend using eyedrops (and stealing her money as well). It was 37 pages long, and took her over 2 hours to read. Very hard to listen to and harder to believe that the court let her go on and on since it was full of lies and slander, imo.

I really don't think it's a good idea to let convicted people have their say in court like this, at least when no one in the court has read and approved it beforehand.

If they want to tell their side of the story, they can write it and mail it to a reporter, who will probably be happy to publish it, and all the world can read it then. Too many things can go wrong when they're allowed to say anything they want, mostly the hurtful effects it can have on victim families.

Eewwww factor.

If she really did that, picked out a sandwich and put it back, that's really disconcerting. When's the last time she washed her hands anyway? Who's to say she's not sprinkling DC dust? Or e. coli.

I'm not eating that sandwich.

Sexuality is different to gender. Do you mean gender?

Is anyone here a subscriber to the HeraldSun?

‘Brilliant but unhinged’: Inside Erin Patterson’s high school days

Fresh details have emerged about mushroom cook Erin Patterson’s time at high school, with the triple murderer described as being a “super bright” student but “a little bit odd”.

AFAIK, in this type of plea hearing in Australia, the offender does not speak, except through their legal team.

I don't think I can cope with this dragging on another 2 weeks. Hope it's on Tuesday! It's been over 2 years now! :o
