It might just be a cursory few questions like “are you at risk of self harm”, “do you have suicidal or homicidal ideation” 🫩
Even then, she could have easily lied.

Simon Patterson podcast

Not sure if this has been posted already? But according to the Herald Sun this morning, Simon Patterson is set to launch an independent podcast at the end of this year.

Simon's podcast is expected to run for 10 episodes and l suspect will be anything but boring.

Go to it Simon!
Ooh that shall be tantalising! I assume it will be on the subject matter we all expect?

I can (sort of) understand that Erin had (or thought she had) a reason to kill Gail and Don - she was furious that they didn't take "her side" against their son Simon. But surely she could have had absolutely nothing against Heather and Ian, they had never hurt her in any way, or tried to interfere. It seems like they were included solely to make up the numbers and encourage the others to come. And yet she doomed them to the same agonising fate as the others. This is why she is so dangerous, even in prison. There is nobody she would not harm, for really no reason at all. Centuries ago, she would have been a witch.
Think it was always about goal of hurting Simon or actually killing him. So she achieved the former rather than the latter.

I know they are being served concurrently. … unlike cats, humans usually only have 1 life.
We don’t live for 33 years. That’s not our average life span in Australia.

It boggles my mind how she could be so  stupid as to hide deathcap mushrooms in a meal where actual mushrooms were in the recipe. She had already gone to all the trouble of grinding the deathcaps, why didn't she just add the powder to a curry dish? I suppose it was meant to be some sort of double bluff, or provide a fallback excuse of foraging for mushrooms. Which she then stupidly didn't claim. Sorry Erin, you were stupid!
That's exactly what it was- a double bluff "See it couldn't be the mushrooms. They are button mushrooms."

And her title was "Queen of Sheba"
Says it all, really.
Yes it does say it all. Although, the Queen of Sheba probably never existed, in ancient religions she was portrayed as half demon or spirit / sorcerer/ genie. Whatever she was, or thought to be, a significant feature of her notoriety is for having really hairy legs! The story goes that when she saw Solomon’s floors they were so shiny they had the appearance of reflected water. So when stepping across them she lifted her skirt as if walking across a large puddle of water. Solomon saw her hairy legs, was disgusted by them and admonished her. So maybe it was the half demon & hairy legs “vibe” that was attractive about being known as Queen of Sheba.

To tag onto this, I also think it’s grandiosity like “oh hurry up, I’m appealing anyway and will win - I’m tired of these futile procedures” 🫩

IMO
Yes double tap. So like this episode, but just wait for the next episode at appeal. Blah!

Well, she did deliberately choose a witch on a flying on a broom as an avatar. Freudian slip, or dropping secret sicko hints to the unsuspecting?
She chose that because of her behaviour in groups that caused others to call her another name. It was a play on words….. substitute the w for a b.
At the time you couldn’t use the B word at risk of being sanctioned.

Son of a witch!

Sorry can you explain how you know this?

Also, how exciting that Simon is doing a podcast - the ABC podcast was horrifically biased the entire time, the Say Grace podcast was pretty good but what about Wayne Flowers bemoaning his wife leaving him? Ick

That other one by someone who claims to know Erin but doesn’t is just so bad people I know thought it was a parody.

I can’t wait to hear Simon’s side of this 😍

I have been wondering why we have not heard a single word from any of her birth family (I don't expect to hear from her sister, but she must have cousins?), or past workmates and schoolmates. I am wondering if they are too afraid to speak while she is still alive?

Maybe they don’t want any drama in their lives (that’s likely what my feelings would be had I been involved with EP in the past)

Maybe Erin is dead to them.

Or too ashamed of her actions.

I could fully understand their reluctance to talk about her at this point. That might change as time passes.

Also, they may choose to talk to Simon when he does his podcasts.

She may have not existed, but Balquis’s kingdom was rich in gold, spices and being the main source of coffee, was a huge trading post. It was all about trade.

Or too ashamed of her actions.
Who wants to be known as the relative of a word-famous poisoner? She spoiled the life for them.

'Life' isn't really life though, is it?

Humans live on average what, 85 years?

25 years is less than 1/3 of an average life and 33 years not even half.

Erin Patterson’s sentence was that she is to spend the rest of her Life in Prison - irrespective of how long her life is.

She was not sentenced to 33 years in prison.

The relevance of 33 years in her case is that she was given an opportunity to Apply for parole after having served at least 33 years of her Life sentence.

‘Applying’ doesn’t in any way say that she will get parole then, or at any time on from then.
( neither does Applying to lodge an Appeal against either her conviction or her sentence mean that she will be granted a right to appeal.)

Having said that, Erin has 33 years in which to reflect, and hopefully to repent. Those two things alone if done well & honestly, would imo put her in good stead for growth - and a possible shot at parole in 2026/ ?
