Pheobe’s Mum was able to track where Pheobe was, using an app, which I believe is Life360. Strange that it took so long for the location information to be given to the Police, but perhaps Pheobe’s mum had to request access from the app developers, which took time?
Life360 can show past trips, so I assume that is how they tracked Pheobe, seeing as her mobile phone hasn’t been found. The last known location will be shown on the app even if the phone is turned off.

Can Life360 See Location If Your Phone Is Off?
Since Life360 is an app, the location-sharing service is also disconnected when a phone is turned off. However,
Life360 does have the ability to provide the location history of the device for 30 days, and will display your phone’s last known location.

Police have confirmed suspected remains found in the search for Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop have been identified as human.
The remains were found about 2.30pm yesterday on a back road surrounded by dense bushland near the Good Night Scrub National Park, less than an hour away from Gin Gin.
The grim discovery was made 9 kilometres from the initial search area, with police led to the scene thanks to a family tracking app on Pheobe's phone, which allowed her mum to access her location, leading to the breakthrough.”
