The “brand new” factor is interesting. Why? And this is a generalisation & a judgement but I’m fairly sure a pair living the way they did doesn’t just happen to have a brand new pair of trackies laying around ready to give someone else.
That bit right there set off too many red flags for me to believe anything he said after that. There is absolutely no way a pair of his pants fit on her in the first place, so that's a bald-faced lie right off the bat. And, as you point out, why did he feel the need to include the information that they were brand-new? Giving too many details in a story is often a sign that it's fabricated because people tend to overcompensate (they want to really sell the story, or not sound too vague.) And I can't shake the feeling that the weird over-detailing is him trying to retroactively make a narrative "explain" whatever evidence is eventually going to come out, if that makes sense? It's all very sus to me.

“'We drove around and as far as we thought she could have made it and then drove a bit further in case.'

Wood claimed this would have been the moment when CCTV footage picked up his car heading towards the Good Night Scrub National Park.”

Goodnight Scrub National Park is an hour away from Bundaberg airport and some distance from Gin Gin

The least he could have said is they went there to go bird watching or rock hunting, v far fetched to say they went to check she hadn’t gone that far

Yep I noticed this too. No way they were searching because they saw him “heading in that direction”

Yep, the fact that JW outlined that Pheobe had smashed the TV that morning after "waking up and being furious that she'd missed her alarm" suggests that there was a struggle in the house.

Right? Especially since she'd missed her alarm and they were supposedly running late!
Yep, his chosen bits of disclosed information are so clearly a horrendous attempt to explain away evidence of what really happened.....smashing the TV one of them, IMO. How sad for poor Phoebe.

I wouldn't believe what he says.

The neighbour heard yelling at 5am and called police. That wasnt a sleep in IMO

I think if you reverse the names he used, it would be more like the facts JMO

IMO only...Pheobe was murdered at the house early that morning..screaming heard at 5am. Then dumb and dumber did the drive with Pheobe in the car to the airport where they turned her phone off. Then they hid her body in the GN NF and went back later to move her to somewhere else. Only they know where to. Just my opinion .

Yep

He has a huge hole now in his alibi given to the paper :)

Police are closing in

Why is it highly unlikely. Do you know PB?

If PB was also involved with drugs , could be that she overdosed overnight, then the screaming may have been the panic by two housemates finding her the next morning. They were the adults in the house with a minor under her care .
"could be that she overdosed overnight,"

Right from the start Ive said the same.

The reports from the neighbour that was broadcast on the evening news and in the papers in the initial first few days after the police and mother put out a missing persons report, indicated there was an argument that morning and the police were called but didnt show up.

Go looking for those media reports now and all gone. Papers all updated and the neighbour who called the cops, has become urban myth. But you cant erase fact.

And very telling he mentions 5am in his interview

I bet when they find her, she is tied up in the duffle bag with the duct tape. The track pants were mostly ones that she bought new herself.

None of the story makes sense. Why would anyone get up and leave 5 minutes away from an airport trip? If you couldn't see them within a few meters of the car, you would attempt to ring them up first.

I agree.
I think track pants will be found with her and were used to clean the crime scene.

'After that she started shouting about not having anything to wear and she was so worked up about seeing her boyfriend for the first time and she wanted to look good.

'And I get it, she is a teenager and she thinks he may be the love of her life, so I understand.

'I grabbed some grey brand new trackies I had and I threw them to her and said wear these and first she said she didn't want to take them as they were mine but then she said "OK" and put them on.'

He isnt going to insert that piece of gold if they was her own pants.

Covering his behind for things to come IMO

IMO she may have still been in the car (possibly with duct tape around her mouth) which is why she tried to call the boyfriend but could not speak as the boyfriend said he however could hear the others yelling,

I suspect they made the call to the BF before they turned off her phone and threw it
