Agreed, the media's muddying of the bf's account of the phone call ("didn't hear anything at all" → "heard yelling but couldn't make out the words") makes the timeline a bit more unclear but I still do believe the phone call could have been an accident on the housemates' part, and they may have turned the phone off once they realised what they had done
Edited to add: article from earlier in the week clearly states that PB's boyfriend was "
unable to hear anything before it cut off," might be a minor detail, but also might be key to understanding whether anyone (other than JW and TB) actually heard or sighted her in the car that morning?
Pheobe, 17, was en route from her rural hometown of Gin Gin, central Queensland, to visit her high school sweetheart in Western Australia on May 15.

i'd really love to know if the boyfriend actually heard and spoke to her at all or was the arguing in the car that bad that he couldn't make out who's voice he was hearing?!
"After loading a large duffle bag - 'almost the size of her' - into the car alongside his dog, they set off for the airport, with Bromley driving and Pheobe in the back seat.
Minutes later, about 8.30am, before they’d left Gin Gin for Bundaberg, Pheobe called her boyfriend to let him know she was on the way.
Daily Mail Australia previously reported the boyfriend claimed he heard shouting during the call.
The boyfriend later told a friend: 'They were both yelling at her and I couldn't really hear her.'"
The flatmate of missing teenager Pheobe Bishop has revealed explosive new details about the her car ride to the airport on the day she disappeared.

SAME NEWSPAPER , TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS

I'm sticking with the BF and his mother saying he couldn't hear anything.
IMO one of the suspects had a momentary brain wave, and used her phone to call him to say she was delayed or changed her mind. (Proof of life. )
Then thought better of it and hung up. Shut down the phone and threw it.
They had to drive to the airport to at least have proof she "was there" and make their story of dropping her off on the side of the road valid. Can't have the car driving up and down the highways on that day and or following day, for no reason.
I cant really buy that TB wouldn't have access to her phone TBH.
Can't see them clocking her in the car and then trying to dispose of her around the airport area or driving to Good Night Scrub that morning to dispose of her JMO
I can see how he went to the shop to buy what he called "drinks" , I might call it tape?, place her in the car and drive to Bundy working out what to do along the way. Make a "call" , switch off the phone, drive around dropping off things and eventually end up at Good Night Scrub, go back there at some point and remove whatever the police have alleged and head to another area to dispose of.
They aren't that smart by all accounts.
Offering up his dodgy boat as a reward only to people in his close FB page, dodgy car artwork,
dyeing their hair blonde to be " unrecognisable" for their first outing together at the court house.
Now we have his account of that morning which doesn't add up. Dumb and Dumber.
