And now he's giving all this to the media. BIG if. If he is the parent figure he is making out, why is he raising the money she stole to the Daily Fail today instead of being worried sick about what's happened to the kid he was 'caring' for.
Did he release the texts though? Or was it the person he was texting?

I've wondered if someone else was involved. It made more sense when there was a possibility PB was potentially kicked out of the car along Samuel's Road, given it is so close to the highway. Airport Drive is a short walk to the terminal. If she had a heavy bag, maybe she'd flag a lift, but that is definitely odd. It's so close. I can't imagine PB not just walking the rest of the way to the terminal.

JW said they walked to the end. I assume he's talking about the corner of Airport Drive and Takalvan Street. Liberty Oil Petrol Station is there and it is a somewhat large (compared to other local petrol stations) shop with things to buy (milk, junk food, the standard petrol station items). If they walked there, police should have CCTV confirming his account, even if they didn't go inside.

When they entered the Airport Terminal, they would be captured on CCTV.

When police picked him up today, it looks like the car was parked near Ross Grey. Yes, the local cemetery is nearby, but if I had to guess, he picked that spot because it was busy enough to be safe. Takalvan Street (just off Bolewski St) is consistently busy. It's also close to a 24/7 gym.
There was CCTV of the car on Samuel's Road from a private residence, but as of yet, no one had spotted her on Samuel's Road.

it does feel like things are beginning to unravel now. Poor Pheobe. She was so excited to fly out, planned and planned and honestly really needed this trip. knowing that she would have thought about it constantly and looked forward to it so much breaks my heart knowing that she never got to go. The sooner justice is served the better. I’m glad that the police seem to have been patiently building a case.

I've had the same thought pattern. Early on when the possibility of Pheobe leaving the car after an argument on Samuels Rd was discussed, it seemed plausible that she could have walked out to the main Road, hitched a ride and met with foul play.

But JW's story of the pair pulling the car over "as they approached Airport Drive" and then exiting the vehicle and walking away "to give Pheobe some space to collect herself" just sounds unfathomable when the whole point of the journey was to get her to the airport, and they were less than a kilometre away. That's only 60 seconds further to drive to reach the airport terminal. Why would they bother to stop when they were so close?
Exactly this.

I can rationalise dropping PB off at Airport Drive to avoid the drop off zone at the Bundaberg Airport.

I can rationalise them getting into an argument and kicking PB out near Samuels Road and her needing to flag a lift and met with foul play.

To stop for a break on Airport Drive for PB to allegedly calm down, before PB, TB and JW potentially get back in the car and drive the short drive to the terminal... no, that doesn't make sense. Unless PB was absolutely out of control and they needed to stop for safety reasons, that is a very odd story.

That story is as unlikely as PB running away...

He's innocent until proven guilty, but he's not doing himself any favours with this interview.

IMO

Hi Mishy, thanks for questioning this. I recently made a post why I accept this as likely. There are a few reasons.
Access to PB's phone would be granted via facial recognition, PIN or fingerprint. This would have to have been done in the vicinity of the cellular NMI in which the call was detected. If somebody were to attempt to deceive via a call, it would be highly unlikely they would make a call and stage an argument for the receiver to hear. That would only raise concern by the person answering. Also, if the call was completely void of noise, as some have claimed, this would also raise suspicion. If someone called you and you heard nothing on the other end, you would most likely try to call them back or expect them to call you back, right? If JW/TB were attempting to deceive and did have access to the phone, a text message would be the most likely type of contact to avoid all possiblity of recognizing distinguishing features of a caller. In either case, if you had committed murder and planned to stage an airport dropoff as a cover story, why would you even attempt to make contact with someone in a two-hour time delay when you could just toss the phone or turn it off? The boyfriend was expecting PB to be on a combined 8 hour journey, radio silence would be expected.

I don’t understand WHY he would have admitted to such a weird story of stopping 1km away for her to calm down! That would make it worse surely? Unless police have proof (gps or otherwise) that they did stop.
It feels like the rest of his story (her emotions, sleeping in etc) was specifically and very purposefully building to that one particular moment

Minutes later, about 8.30am, before they’d left Gin Gin for Bundaberg Pheobe called her boyfriend to let him know she was on the way.

And there is the timestamp

BEFORE she LEFT Gin Gin she called her BF

Dumb and Dumber. Dug a huge hole for himself.

Is it even 1km? It's not a long road. Granted I drive it, so it would be longer walking, but it's so short.

This account did not make sense to me knowing the road. That doesn't mean he's guilty, but he's definitely not helping himself. The texts released between him and a friend (if they're legitimate) make it sound like the police have only been looking at TB and JW as suspects and it is only a matter of time before they're charged.

Is that timing correct though? Or is it only reporting one of the sightings? I remember there being CCTV of the car travelling towards the airport around 8:30am.

.....so they had to drive away in the HyunToyo and think of a new plan? ....
Shortened and bold by me.

I love it! You win the internet today.
👏👏👏

Re the duffle bag - what happened to the so called suitcase that relatives wanted back? As far as the size of the duffle bag - remember that Pheobe said in a text to her aunt that she may not come back from WA. Maybe it was filled with a lot more than just her clothes, maybe it contained most of her belongings? If indeed she had a duffle bag, or maybe that was already in the car and didn't belong to Pheobe?

Alleged stolen money mentioned?

Quote from the link above

"Cops don't seem to really care that when she left she took nearly $5K out of mine and Tee's room but still harass us,
like
'well how could she have just gone,
how hasn't she popped up on her bank statements?
Because she has $5K 🤬🤬🤬*ing cash'."

Hmmm....

So much of what JW said is suspicious and seems like half-truths to seem believable, and lies to make PB look bad and him like a reasonable great guy: Pheobe Bishop's housemate James Wood breaks his silence about the day she went missing - and reveals new details about what happened in the car to the airport... as he's taken into custody

"JW claimed that at their home at Gin Gin that morning, PB was stressing about what to pack, what to wear and making the flight on time." and "...she slept through her alarm..." I don't believe it; PB texted a friend or her aunt that she was so excited she was already packing beforehand. I think she would be too excited to sleep properly. Plus, what young woman wouldn't have outfits and ideas for the day already packed/ready to go? I did at my first big flight at 16 and then at 18.

"She gets like that sometimes and usually we can calm her down but she was escalating and then she smashed the TV,' JW claimed. " I seriously doubt this unless PB had a known history of being this irrational and aggressive (which isn't normal if true).

"I grabbed some grey brand new trackies I had and I threw them to her and said wear these and first she said she didn't want to take them as they were mine but then she said "OK" and put them on.'" PB's pics are possibly outdated but if they're still accurate there's no way his trackies would fit her, and she could just wear her own clothes. This is so suspicious and makes it sound like an excuse for if She's found, why She's wearing his pants (and might have his DNA on her). I hate to say it but, in my opinion, since this case started, I was worried Pheobe was being taken advantage in some way by her housemates- either by taking all her money for rent or 'using' her for 'favours' (or hoping to). I fear something happened to her while she was naked or half naked and JW had to put pants on her after. Most crimes are spur of the moment and emotional; usually about money, sex/abuse, or drugs.

"After loading a large duffle bag - 'almost the size of her' - into the car alongside his dog, they set off for the airport..." this is so bizarre and suspicious to say in regards to a missing girl especially when you were the last person to see her. I have never thought about my bags or suitcase being big enough for a body unless im watching a true crime doc and its mentioned in regards to a case. Also, if it was that large, she would have had clothes to choose from.

"As they approached Airport Drive, less than a kilometre from the terminal, the argument continued, Wood said. Wood told Bromley to pull the car over and they got out and walked a distance away to give Pheobe some space to collect herself. We wanted to give her five minutes - give her her own space to do what she needed to do,' he said. We walked to the end, it was maybe five minutes, maybe it was three minutes or maybe it was eight but that's about how long we were gone.' Wood said when he returned to the car, Pheobe and her bag were gone." so close to the airport but you kick her out now? and why would you leave YOUR car instead of telling her to get out and walk if she was being such a nightmare? Them leaving their own car and coming back to her gone is strange and suspicious, giving- we couldn't have done it!11!- also if she was gone why wouldn't they call her phone first or go into the airport instead of driving around? Especially since they turned around to Good Night Scrub National Park which is the wrong way for PB to go anyway.

If they truly 'lost track' of her at Airport drive, maybe someone could have picked her up and hurt her, but then I doubt the police would be narrowing in so hard on JW and TB and labelling the home and car a crime scene. Plus, they haven't released cctv footage of PB or asked for any car footage except of JW and TB car right?

And if her pictures are outdated, getting a new one out ASAP would have been priority so people could recognise her if she was travelling alone and someone preyed on her along the way. But that hasn't happened. Even the highly edited photo of PB the Queensland police posted kind of pissed me off as it's so edited I dont think its an accurate depiction of PB, and leads me to think they don't really need an accurate pic of her for the public as they know what happened.

Poor PB, I really hope she is found soon:(
  • update as I was writing this: the leaked texts of JW claiming PB stole from is very interesting - why wouldn't he say that in his earlier daily mail interview? Paint her further as deviant and help his case? If i was innocent I would be discrediting someone who stole from me heavily, or if I still cared about them, might be telling them to come home because I'm worried and its not about the money/or what happened to be vague.

I'm a bit confused about the last "call" to bf.

I remember sending the report where he said he "didn't hear anything".

And now I read here he "heard yelling" of the pair.

🤔

I would say that police have spoken to the boyfriend and told him to disclose that he couldn’t hear anything, controlling the narrative so that those guilty will concoct a story and embellish the details to fit.

She calls her BF around 8.30 in GIN GIN - he hears some sort of argy bargy going on but the phone cuts out and has never been used since.

Police say PB was not picked up on CCTV footage at the airport

The call wasnt made at the airport. It was made while she was still in Gin Gin
