Background and Disappearance
Background and Disappearance
- PB, a 17-year-old from Gin Gin, Queensland, was last seen around 8:30am on May 15, 2025, at Airport Drive in Bundaberg. She was reportedly being driven to Bundaberg Regional Airport by her housemates, TB and JW, to catch a flight to Perth to visit a friend or boyfriend. However, CCTV footage confirmed she never checked in for her flight and did not enter the airport.
- PBhad been living with TB and JW at a rundown property in Gin Gin, which has since been declared a crime scene. TB and JW are believed to be in a relationship and both have been cooperative with police.
- The grey Hyundai ix35, which PB was last seen traveling in, was seized and examined by police. The car was later released, but reports emerged that its number plates had been altered with black electrical tape, and the Hyundai logo was disguised as a Toyota logo. The car was seen in Bundaberg with these modifications after the disappearance.
- Items believed to be linked to the investigation were found and are undergoing forensic examination. Police have expanded their search area, including Good Night Scrub National Park, using drones, cadaver dogs, and SES teams.
- Both the Gin Gin property and the Hyundai ix35 were declared crime scenes, and police found firearms and ammunition during their search. TB and, more recently, another housemate have been charged with unrelated weapons offences.
- PB's family described her disappearance as out of character. Her mother has made public appeals for information, expressing heartbreak and concern.
- Troubling text messages sent by PB to her aunt before her disappearance have surfaced, including one stating, “If it goes to plan, I’m not coming back,” raising further concerns about her state of mind and intentions.
- The search for PB is ongoing, with police continuing to appeal for information, particularly about the movements of the grey Hyundai ix35 between May 15 and 18 in the Gin Gin area.
- Police have not named any suspects in her disappearance and continue to treat the case as a missing person investigation, with all housemates reportedly cooperating.
- PB vanished on May 15, 2025, after being dropped at Bundaberg Airport but never boarded her flight.
- She lived with two housemates, both of whom have faced unrelated weapons charges but are not publicly suspected in her disappearance.
- The vehicle she traveled in was disguised after her disappearance and has been a focus of the investigation.
- Items linked to the case have been found and are being forensically examined.
- The search continues, with significant police and community involvement.
