A 29 year old called Denise Huskins who used to live in Orange County, was apparently kidnapped for ransom in Vallejo Monday and then released, safe, back to her mom's house in Orange County today.

To be honest, the case sounds just strange to me. But I'm keeping an eye open because if there is someone around OC prepared to kidnap people for money, then it has to be considered that Bob Harrod would have made a suitable target, maybe?

Audio tape of the call the kidnap victim made to family. http://m.sfgate.com/bayarea/article...m-kidnapped-6158478.php?cmpid=twitter-desktop

In a completely bizarre twist, the kidnapped woman turned up safe in Orange County, retained an attorney and has now gone missing again, along with her family. Or at least, the FBI and police have 'lost contact' with them. Authorities say there was no kidnapping, the whole thing was orchestrated and if they find evidence of any criminal activity, they'll bring charges.

This makes me so mad. At least 100 officers were used in the search at what must be a huge cost. And there's poor Bob missing over five years and not a search in sight. I think this safely rules out any chance Bob was a victim of a serial kidnapper-for-ransom.

Unfortunately, I'm not as creative as some posters here to keep this thread on page one. I just continue to bump it back up there.

And here's the link for the 'Disappeared, Long Lost Love' show, where the housekeeper states she arrived at 12 noon (NOT 3pm as son-in-law apparently told police) and found Bob missing and son in law not there either.

http://www.investigationdiscovery.com/tv-shows/disappeared/meet-the-missing/bob-harrod/

3 different timelines that have never been clarified.

Based on LE statements and the house keepers statement, the SIL left sometime after the housekeeper arrived. What he has refused to shed light on is where he was returning from when the housekeeper arrived around noon and he pulled into the driveway shortly after she arrived.

Why only a partial timeline of JeM's whereabouts the day Bob disappeared?

Why indeed? A LOT of people would like to know the answer to that question.

I can't make any sense of the way there was enough concern from family that Monday night for a flurry of phone calls to inform everyone Bob was missing, but the official reporting which would trigger searches and investigations was left to Mrs Harrod who was thousands of miles away.

In other ways, Bob's family seemed quite controlling in the way they kept an eye on what he was doing and who he was seeing. Yet that most important action of getting him officially reported missing was left to Mrs Harrod - who daughters have stated to media they 'warned' Bob about because he, and they, 'didn't really know her'.

The next morning, (when there is often a huge flurry of activity from families of the missing because a loved one has been missing all night) there was a lot of action from Bob's family. But it all seemed to concentrate on cleaning and preparing Bob's house for Mrs Harrod's arrival, not searching for him or getting word out. And as a daughter later revealed they did not expect or desire her return, those actions seem a little confusing too.

Any details or pics on the bathroom repairs that were supposedly done? Why didnt LE got through this home with dogs etc or did they? I dont recall that..And to me the SIL seems the most suspect. I used to think the hairdresser but I thought I read she was cleared so the SIL ...He was probably very surprised to find the maid there when he arrived. What was he driving at the time and was it ever checked for DNA evidence? Just questions.

I answered some of my own questions, he drove a ridgeline. Easy enough to hide and transport a body. I never watched the tv show so havent seen the bathroom remodel pics. Will have to look for those. So when the housekeeper arrived and then sil shows up..he either already had taken Bob out of that house and went upstairs to stage stuff in case maid went up there, or he hid bob until maid left IMO. He also then made sure he went to home depot or wherever to try and shore up that alibi...afterwards..which to me is stupid and the descrepency is glaring but apparently not enough to arrest someone. DNA testing on his truck /trunk would be good. Cadavar dogs in home/truck would have been good. I think I recall that Bobs bed was not made which was unusual. So he apparently got up and got disappeared before he had time to make his bed but after he called the maid to come over right?

Wanted to add, I thought it was odd that the SIL was also a volunteer search and rescue person. He might know alot about how to hide things etc without it being found. ? Just thinking aloud. And still he did no searching for his own Father in law? Hmm

For a long time it was thought Bob disappeared Monday afternoon because police said son-in-law Jeff Michaels had an 'alibi' receipt from Home Depot for Monday afternoon at 3.02pm. So it kind of figured that was when Bob went missing. There was always a slight problem with that though, because Jeff Michaels' wife, Julie Michaels (Bob's youngest daughter) had told media Bob disappeared at 'maybe one, noon?'. Only husband Jeff Michaels could have told her that.

When 'Disappeared, Long Lost Love' aired on ID TV though, everything blew apart. The housekeeper went on camera to say Bob was already missing when she arrived at 12 noon. Furthermore, son-in-law Jeff Michaels was also missing and turned up at the house about 15 minutes later.

All it needs is for Jeff Michaels to clarify exactly where he was and what he was doing between say - 11.30pm and 12.30pm on Monday July 27, 2009, and investigators can get on with finding whoever disappeared Bob Harrod.

Unfortunately, coming up for six years now, that information hasn't been forthcoming.

Bob's is really THE outstanding missing person case in Orange County, and definitely the numero uno in Placentia. I'm hoping recent changes at the OC Register will allow a reporter to follow up his case again, and put a little pressure on authorities.

It's needed, in my opinion. They've let Bob's case slide because no-one's really activating for him, and it's a blemish on OC media and authorities' reputation, I think.

How far away is this location from where Bob lived?

My computer is acting goofy, so I can't copy the link, but according to google maps 1820 miles and a 26 hr drive. The ring found with the remains doesn't appear to be a Mason ring, it is just shaped similiarly to a ring which might be with Bob.

No hope I can help find Bob when I can hardly find my way to the thread anymore. Search function's changed. :(

I wish someone would step up and provide a photo of a ring similar to what Bob Harrod's Mason ring would have looked like. I know for a fact he paid his dues up until the day he disappeared, and can't understand why California Masons have turned their backs on a brother in need. It's a real shame.

I have replies to threads emailed to me via my comcast account that gets forwarded to my gmail. If I want to bump a thread; I do a search in my gmail. Google is also good; use Bob Harrod Websleuths. I also go to my own profile to find threads I've replied to

I have a feeling the youngest daughter and her husband did it.

It certainly seems possible, California Sleuther.

Take heart, sleuther friends-I wouldnt assume that there is no activity in the case simply because there is nothing much to report on the threads. As Z points out, Bob seems to be the highest profile MP in OC and certainly in Placentia. I am willing to bet that the evidence needed to pursue his murder/no body case is already in the hands of LE.

It has to be kind of like water torture for the people responsible whenever discussion blooms regarding Bob's disappearance. This is a family with a curiously powerful ability to deny though...I mean look how they all moved on within days of his disappearance. They had already taken action to acquire his money and throw his wife out of her own house.

They make themselves seem guilty by moving away so quickly and being so nonchalant about it all. I would like this case to be solved soon since it's so close to home.
