CA CA - Bob Harrod, 81, Orange County, 27 July 2009 - # 1

This case makes me really sad because Bob is 81 and was about to begin a new life with a woman he apparently loved very much. I don't feel like this is a situation where he has gone missing on purpose, but I have been wrong many times before and would love to be again in this case. I don't want to believe that someone who was close to him, who he trusted, decided he needed to be "taken care of" for whatever reason, but it's happened many times in the past.

Praying for Bob's safe return and the beginning of a happy life with the woman he loves.

The answer was hard to understand, at least for me.
It talks of false friends and maybe, they are wanting his money.

No...and the thread for Mr. Harrod has been taken down on another site. Disheartening, to say the least. I just hate to think of people giving up. Mr. Harrod deserves justice, Fontelle deserves an answer. I hope something breaks soon...

It seems like forces are against discussion of Bob. Has anyone figured out what he looks like? Where is anyone who cares for Bob? He was a multimillionaire and dropped out of site and then what?

There were discussions regarding Bob that suddenly disappeared from other sites, as well as newspaper acticles that can no longer be accessed, so what are we to make of that?

It is as though wringing your hands at Bob's disappearance is the desired response but discussion regarding facts go nowhere. I would appreciate any opinions regarding this matter as it is most troubling.

Surelock...so true. I actually stopped posting on the other site just for that reason. I was/am disgusted. It's very frustrating when there is no news at all.

Could it be that LE knows where Bob is and his disappearance is considered a family matter and they are just staying out of it? I don't know if LE has the responsibility of informing the public if maybe the daughters have convinced them that the new wife married him for his money or something. I know I'm grasping at straws here but I'm just dumbfounded as to why there is no reward being offered, why there is nothing else in the media, etc. I know the Mayor Pro-Tem of Placentia and I swear I'm about to call him and say OK, spill the beans!!

We do know what Robert Harrod looks like from the various pics and videos on the internet.
There were several interviews with Robert and Fontelle after their marriage. It was considered a heart warming story of finally reuniting after 60 years.
There are several pics in the news articles of Robert and of Fontelle.
So, we know what he looks like,
we just don't have the
final word on the facts;
blue vs brown eyes,
height discrepancy,
weight discrepancy,
how much hair and color.

Fontelle called in the missing person report, so I am making an assumption that she said brown eyes.
Daughters provided AMW and other online sites with information,
so I am assuming they said blue eyes.

I am going with blue eyes. The daughters knew their dad for
over 50 years.

And I don't know what happened on IS.
Are there other sites where his information has disappeared?
As for newspaper articles, I can still access the OC Register ones, but
I have not been able to find some of them.
Maybe because some newspapers articles on any subject just 'disappear'?

I will email OC Register and see if there is an update planned.

Personally, it would be great if PPD knows where Robert is, but
I think they would have to at least say,
no more cause for concern, we are not concerned for the safety of Robert H any longer, this is a private matter....

Although I think LE would listen to the daughters or Fontelle about their ideas, I do not think anyone could convince PPD of a theory.
PPD goes with evidence, facts, proof.

But I agree with why nothing else in the media.
Do they just let it sit, because they have nothing new to report,
and wait until
Robert pops up in Reno or Miami
or
his remains are found in a shallow grave in the desert.

I will add emailing PPD with a couple of questions,
although they did not respond to my last email.

Bob Harrod is one of so many missing people in this country. This is what happens with most cases, they fade away. It is not just missing person cases that are never solved, look at all the unsolved murders.

Hopefully the police are working on some leads or theories.

Here it is the new year, and there is no new information about Mr. Harrod. I am so afraid that he will be one more sad statistic in this country, another lost soul that disappeared without a trace.

I feel in my gut though, that someone will stumble upon Mr. Harrod and whatever evidence that will be used to bring the perp to justice.

The only updates I could find:

1) Probate case: Hearing was scheduled for today (Jan 4). Court Trial is now scheduled for Feb 16.
2) Human remains/skulls found in several areas in CA in December. I have not yet read of any identification(s)/updates.

Needles, CA
A passerby on Tuesday found human remains in a rural desert area west of Needles. Coroner's officials said the remains are that of a male, but they have not identified the victim. An autopsy is expected to be conducted this week to determine the cause of death.
