Is there anyone that can post the Disappeared clip that you guys keep mentioning? I don't know if I am just overlooking it or what, but I can't find it on their website...many thanks!! :great:

The video clip was taken off the Disappeared site. However, Cloudajo did transcribe it.

Disappeared Season 5 - Sign of Trouble (Bob Harrod)

Clip (3:23) – Posted 4/26/12

(transcribed below)

Narrator: But Jeff was not the only person at Bob’s house that day. Agnes, Bob’s housekeeper of more than 10 years, arrived around Noon. Normally, she cleans Bob’s house on Tuesday, but this week she’d arranged to come on Monday.

Agnes: And he said that will be fine, I will be here, and Jeff is coming and he’s gonna to take care of a couple of things in the house before Fontelle comes. So I went to the house, knocked on the door, nobody answered, I looked in the mailbox because that’s where he normally leaves me the key, the key wasn’t there, so I sat on the bench in front of the house.

Narrator: The situation made her very uneasy. Nothing like this had ever happened before.

Agnes: Bob always was home when I went over there, or if, him and Georgia, they would always always tell me if they would not be home, and they put a key in the mailbox. But it was a very rare occasion that they were not home.

Narrator: After about 15 minutes, Jeff drove up to the house.

Agnes: I told him right away that, you know, that where Bob is, because he’s not answering the door. And Jeff was just asking me, “Are you supposed to be here today?” I said, “Yeah, Bob knew that I’m coming today.”

Narrator: Agnes was surprised to hear that Bob didn’t tell Jeff that she would be coming that day. As Jeff let her in the house, she began to feel that something was very wrong.

Agnes: I was really concerned at that point, I was afraid to go upstairs, I didn’t want to find anything. So I asked Jeff if he would go upstairs and see if Bob was there.

Narrator: Agnes waited at the bottom of the stairs while Jeff went up to have a look around.

Agnes: I thought he’s just going to look into the room, it takes a minute to go up, look into the room, and just see if Bob was there or not. But he actually ended up spending a couple of minutes there, so I thought maybe, you know, he find something, he find him there or something. So I yelled up, I said, “Is he there, is he ok?” And he said, ‘No, he’s not here.” And then he came back.

Narrator: Uncertain about what to do next, Agnes began cleaning, while Jeff resumed his repairs. As she worked her way around the house, she noticed something disturbing.

Agnes: When I went upstairs, I saw that in his bedroom, the bed was unmade, and never in the 10 years I worked for them, that happened before. It was just so out of character for him to not to make the bed, I just thought it was very strange.

Narrator: Deeply troubled, Agnes finished up and left, shortly after Jeff, who had also completed his work.

Agnes: I was there all together about 3 hours. I can honestly tell you that during the whole time I was there, I was very concerned. I kept thinking, where is he at?

BTW.....The repairs shown being performed by JeM in the video clip had to do with a toilet. :waitasec:

The clip was released by mistake by the network and they pulled it off their website until some later date.

While it was up, I think all the regulars on Bob's threads watched it multiple times! I don't think anyone saved it because we assumed it would stay up.

Ummmm, so the man who can't install his own dishwasher can install a toilet? Bob must have really trusted him, because I know which one I'd rather risk springing a leak in my house.

I understand them pulling it because it was put up too early, by mistake, but I don't really understand why it's never reappeared. I keep getting a feeling the same thing might happen to the programme, though I sincerely hope not.

I wonder if the toilet repair was planned and how well the repair went. Was it a thorough job?

I'd love to see the note JeM left for Bob on the kitchen counter, saying he'd be back the next day to finish his repairs.

BBM~~~~~

Yes, and then he doesn't return. Doesn't return to finish his "repairs" or help deal with Mr. Harrod's disappearance.

Funny how JeM was already at the house and knew Mr. Harrod was missing. Yet JeM drives all the way home so that he along with his wife can alert other family members and have Fontelle call PPD.

I may just be over thinking here or something but for some reason this part of the transcript seemed strange to me....maybe it just took him a little longer than normal to search the upstairs. I mean, I don't know how big the upstairs part of the house was. It just seemed like the maid was more upset and frantic about him being missing than the family member here.

Agree.

I wonder what JeM was doing upstairs for that amount of time? Was he taking a look around to make sure there was nothing incriminating, tidying up a bit, collecting his composure...etc.

Those long minutes upstairs and JuM's rush to change the linens next day has always made me think of that unmade bed the cleaner saw. Wish I knew if she noticed if any of the bedding was missing. That would speak volumes to me.

Us repair people all know old sheets are great for covering things up.

It is still bugging me that our timelines say JeM left after the cleaner, at about 6pm. Does anyone know where this info came from?

Because the cleaner on Disappeared says she left about three (three hours work from noon) after JeM.

So if our 6pm leaving time is correct, JeM must have returned to the house after the cleaner left, and after his visit to home depot. Now I'd really like to know what he bought there.

Welcome to Bob's thread littlegreycells!!

Disappeared told me that the teaser was put onto the website prematurely. They typically dont tee a show up that far in advance. My understanding is that the producers and director were very excited by the film. It seems everyone was swept away by the power of it. :)

If she never made the bed, I am not sure she would have noticed something like a top sheet missing, for example. Come to think of it, she never defined making up the bed. Did she make it up completely, as in get out fresh sheets, a comforter, pillows etc? :waitasec:

Yep.

Another factor could be that it takes longer to check for certain things being out of place than it does to check for an entire human being.

Wouldn't want to leave a tool out by mistake and have the CL hurt herself tripping over it, for example.

Something just occurred to me.

I use two top sheets on our bed. One top sheet under the covers, between us and the blankets. The other top sheet goes on top of everything else on the bed, to protect it from the dogs who sleep with us. Or who trample us in an excess of joy when we make silly squeaky noises at them.

One reason is that over the years, I've accumulated bunches of top sheets since the bottom sheets wear out faster. Another reason is that I like to keep the dog hair covering on the bed down to a level that can be seen through.

I know lots and lots of other dog owners who also do this. I also know people who have sensitive skin who do this, so that their arms won't be exposed to the blankets or comforter than irritates their skin. Some upscale hotels are advertising that they do this but it doesn't seem to make them more likely to allow dogs in the rooms.

I wonder if Bob was in the habit of double top sheets? He had a small dog for many years that he adored and what is better than sleeping with the dog one loves?

I guess my biggest question with someone killing him is what would they get from it? The hairdresser...his wife...neither of them would gain anything from a dead Mr. Harrod. It would seem that it would be more of a heat of the moment type thing possibly with a family member or someone closely connected if it wasn't a matter of him walking off and getting hurt or lost, etc. Perhaps he got pushed or shoved during the heated discussion and got hurt or killed accidentally and then it got covered up? There seem to be a lot of "issues" between him and the kids. Just my rambling thoughts of course. :moo:

I'm just able to go back and catch up on todays posts now, so forgive me if this has been mentioned. No, Bob's disappearance would not benefit Mrs. Harrod or the BL. Bob's daughters tried to present a theory which the BL disappeared Bob so she would not have to pay back loans, but they admitted in court they found no information indicating the money Bob gifted the BL was a loan. They also admitted Bob was meticulous with his paperwork regarding money he loaned. They found all the documentation for other loans to the family, but zero documentation for the loans to the BL.

Additionally, the BL had a solid alibi verified by survelliance at the time Bob allegedly went missing.

We know Mrs. Harrod was half way across the country when Bob disappeared.

It appears the CA family are benefitting the most. PB who is no longer paying rent, and AH who walked from several hundred thousand, possibly a half million or more on the mortgage note Bob provided him.

ETA: My thoughts for a motive for someone killing him was so he could not spend his own money enjoying the rest of his life with his new wife doing things that retired couples do. If Bob couldn't spend his money enjoying his life, then someone's had no reason to fear a decrease in their expected inheritance.

I can't view that video on this. And I have another computer but I can't bring myself to watch it. Everyone's said it is so sad. I'm afraid I'll get upset and start posting rubbish (worse than usual).

Actually it's a very touching video. It was amazing to hear Bob's voice. His voice was different than what I expected. I thought he would be more soft spoken, or quieter. He has a strong deep voice. A beautiful voice, when he had it.

The video clearly shows how much in love he was with Fontelle and how he was really walking on cloud 9 to be reunited with his first love. It's worth viewing. It will melt your heart.

  • #320
Yep.

If you look at the timeline, it's clear that there was escalating pressure on Bob for financial reasons, culminating in a family meeting the day before he disappeared that was apparently heated. The salient point seems to have been that Bob informed his descendants of his intention to add his bride to his accounts.

Bob was a millionaire when he disappeared. As you say, the BL and his new wife had nothing to gain by Bob's disappearance and probable death.

Looking at it from the other direction, the people who had the most to lose by Bob's continuing life were his daughters and grandson. Instead of having one single person who lived frugally being supported by the estate, there would have been two people (Bob and Fontelle) and who knows? Maybe Fontelle wasn't a frugal sort or maybe Bob would want to shower Fontelle with expensive gifts.

BBM. And Bob's daughters would know if he were the type to shower his wife with expensive gifts based on whether he did with their mother. Hmm. Maybe it was we know how Dad spends on his wife, when it was our money spent on our mom it wasn't leaving the family, a second wife would not have that 'guaranty'. Definately something to think about.
