Hi, first time poster here!

So let me get this, son-in-law who was working on Mr Harrod's house had a son that owed Mr Harrod a big sum of money. Son-in-law had the key to the house to let the cleaner in. Grandson specifically mentioned that he thought the loan ended on his grandfather's death despite them actually not knowing what happened to him.

Do we know about the grandson's financial situation other than the amount of money he owed? Perhaps he owed money to quite a few people, and the payment to Mr Harrod was one that would have pushed it to the point where debt collectors needed to come in. Thinking he could squirm his way out of it for a few months, then comes the family discussion - if people thought it was possible that Mr Harrod could have wanted to 'cool off' after it, surely something must have been said that he didn't like. Grandson's father then takes the opportunity to rid his child of the debt.

Just a theory? Everything in my gut tells me this comes down to the grandson's debt in some way.

Great post!!!!!

This deposition here from grandson is enlightening about how vague he can be about loans of hundreds of thousand of dollars. It was probably getting on for 6 or 7 hundred thousand dollars. He also went bankrupt. He came to an agreement with his aunts, who are supposed to be 'conserving' Bob's Trust, and walked away from it all.

Another welcome is extended to the new posters here now. Glad to have you join us.

My support to this thread is nowhere near as active as some. I just read here every day and pray for justice.

That's not very nice. Especially as you haven't even told us where to see the picture.

The picture was on the disappeared episode. It showed Josie sitting next to and leaning into Bob with Bob holding his hat to keep it from blowing away.

Keep in mind, Det. Loomis did confirm with a direct statement, that LE verified Josie's alibi. The same was not said for Jeff, Bob's son in law.

I thought Agnes's statement about the bed not being made was very interesting. Was Bob an early riser? What time did he usually make his bed?

Welcome!!!!!

Okay, after watching the program and reading some posts on this thread, here's my initial impression about Bob's disappearance. Based on gut instinct and the fact that this case screams "greedy money-grubbers", I'm inclined to believe there was foul play involved, and more than one of Bob's immediate family members are involved.

I don't think it's his new wife nor the hairdresser. They weren't in his will. And the hairdresser would want Bob alive in order for him to siphon money to her.

Purely speculating based on two things: 1) physical proximity factor, and 2) the fact that most women do not act alone, I lean towards the perps being the son-in-law who was presumably repairing Bob's house that day Bob suddenly "vanished into thin air", his wife (Bob's youngest daughter) and their son (whom I believe I read owes a lot of debts). The SIL's alibi of frequenting several stores are iffy, as if he was deliberately trying to collect store receipts to use as alibis. Also from video clips, the daughter did not appear genuine. She barely maintained any eye contact with interviewer and appeared to keep looking up and to the left often -- signs of deception. JMO

Thanks. This makes sense to me.

That's great! More people are now interested in Bob's disappearance.

Yep, the very same picture that was cropped on the Bob Harrod is missing website upon its debut (yep, I've got the screencap, zwie).

Josie's alibi may have been confirmed, but what about her husband's, her son's, or anyone else connected to her?

Enquiring minds want to know.

It's obvious to me, son-in-law is the one with the most vital information about the case. Why on earth did he not participate in the episode?

Or, if he is really, really, camera shy, what about his wife, JuM? She did interviews before. It looks like she did have her father disappearing when her husband and the housekeeper where in the house in one though, so maybe Disappeared wouldn't have been a good idea.

Maybe one? Noon?

(Daughter's answer to TV presenter's question about what time Bob disappeared.)

Interesting that JuM and JeM did not take part in the show.

Interesting that the daughters contacted a lawyer within days of their father's disappearance.

Interesting that JeM did not finish his "small projects" at Mr. Harrod's house on July 27, 2009. He left a note at the house saying he would return but never did.

Interesting that JeM states he saw a mysterious vehicle the day of Mr. Harrod's disappearance. Yet, JeM did not accompany his wife, JuM, to Mr. Harrod's house the following day.

You don't need a screencap. I can send you my original alterations if you want them. I wanted Bob's website to look as nice as possible so people will help find him. And I wish you hadn't mentioned it here, because I don't want anyone to be distracted from discussing Bob's case tonight.

You asked about the photo as if I didn't tell you where to see it.

FACTS:

1. It was shown in the Disappeared episode
2. It was on the website you created (albeit cropped)

Shana, does that mean Bob's daughter deliberately included the hairdresser on Bob's missing poster to try and make him look bad?

In case anyone hasn't noticed....I'm in Germany. I would have LOVED to have seen the episode, and tried very hard.

But no way. :(

Facebook - Finding Robert M Harrod

Note: This page was created by a poster on WS to help find Bob. The poster turned this over to Bob’s daughters in August, 2009. Bob’s daughter(s) activated the page about August 12, 2010 and apparently edited the pages. After that was pointed out on the WS forum, in the following days the pages were changed.
